YOU DIDN'T THINK I FORGOT, DID YOU
Who: Everyone ever. It's mandatory or you're banned for two minutes.
What: Fireworks are a little late this year...
When: The night of July 14th
Where: Campus, generally. But you can see them out in the city.
Warnings: Colours and explosions and probably dumb kissy stuff somewhere in here.
It was usually the evening of the second of third; a tradition that began five years prior due to some silly boyish dare, that continued for the sake of sentimentality and tradition. Even if the culprit no longer attended Smash Academy, he made sure his legacy lived on each July.
This year it was a little late, because strange robots were patrolling the city and were in the wrong place at the wrong time. But that didn't stop the mission from being fulfilled! Just... delayed. It was probably for the best, since loud noises and bright lights wouldn't have been well received by the more feral-minded creatures during the whole bake sale debacle. In a way it was a pretty convenient setback.
Anyway, when the night finally came for the tradition to continue, it started... with a bang. Duh.
There was no small smattering of tester rockets to ease into the display. Just a sudden burst of red and white in the sky, Smash Academy's emblem glowing brighter than the stars for a few seconds before petering out. After that it was just burst after burst of an assortment of colours and shapes, each its own unique size and brightness, the resounding explosions echoing throughout the campus like gunshots.
Good thing nobody at all would be trying to sleep, right?

Did she hear fireworks season?
She swore she heard fireworks season.
FIREWORKS SEASON.
All decked out in a cute patterned shirt and everything, Isabelle hopped out of her dorm and made it a point to sit just outside of the dorm building, having gathered a good amount of accessories from her drawers. Seriously, there are quite a few of them, and she's giving them away to celebrate. Heck, she had the cute little hearts on her head to show how they worked. They glowed! How neat!
Want to watch the fireworks with Isabelle or mooch off of her?

Isabelle waves back, toting her glowing goodies all the while.
"Hello! Would you like some shiny headbands to celebrate Fireworks Season? They're free, one of each kind per person!"

She suddenly stopped laughing.
"There's a lot of steps to walk."
Hint hint. Although maybe teasing a bit. Probably.

Then again... fireworks... Kiyotaka hadn't seen those in some time, especially not so close. For a few seconds he was overwhelmed by the realization that there was a time in his life that he thought he'd never even see the night sky again.
It was fleeting, though. He shoved the thought aside and grabbed his uniform. Curfew or not, someone was out there setting these off illegally on school grounds and it was up to him to apprehend the culprit! Mostly because he had a feeling nobody else would be bothered to.
IT WAS TIME. FOR A NIGHT JOURNEY. Super High School Level Killjoy was ON THE CASE. If nothing else, at least he could lecture anyone else who was outside when they weren't supposed to be.

Furiae had hardly gotten to sleep anyway, and the sudden noises had been the opposite of a welcoming help. The bangs came close to firing catapults in her mind; with that comparison, it was hard to keep still in her room.
But she had not wanted to disturb her roommate, and decided to slip downstairs to investigate - only a little, which is why she didn't go outside. That, and she stood in a nightgown, a modest one that covered the whole of her and a shawl over her shoulders to provide her more comfort to be out in her nightwear. Still, she wasn't about to go outside.
The entrance hall still likely wasn't this woman's room though - right, Mister Hall Monitor?

"You should be in bed!" He launched into his lecture immediately, not recognizing the woman he'd shared a class with (and would quite possibly have to share a future with) in the dark. "At the very least, you should be staying in your room after ten o'clock!"
If he said anything else, it was drowned out by the next round of explosions.

She kept her forehead and her palms pressed to the glass, "ooh"ing and "aah"ing at each colourful burst across the sky.

"I didn't know there was gonna be fireworks!" he said. "I woulda stayed up!"

"What do you think they're celebrating?"

"YEAH! THAT'S HOW YOU DO IT!"
Loudly.
"Look at that, that is BEAUTIFUL."
You know those people in the movie theaters? Who get way too into the movie? He's being one of those people right now.
"MAN! I could die happy right here and now."
Only outside. In public.

If explosions were any kind of indication.
Eirika watched quietly, keeping mostly to herself, arms folded over her chest, and briefly she thought of her own people. Before those of the academy, anyway.
People have a right to their happiness, she had once said. If there is nothing to smile over, then people lose their will to continue. If this brings joy, then I feel I can't argue against it.
And she couldn't deny that she did think they were rather pretty.

"Beautiful... aren't they?" He turned to look at her, wide smile present on his face.

He scared her a little. Well, not 'scared,' per se. He caught her by surprise. A moment's hesitation, and Eirika's features relaxed into a softer smile and she nodded.
"Yes, I think so. I haven't seen them before. Perhaps something like them, but these are different." She motioned to the sky idly. "How long have you been watching, Kyogre?"

When July 5th came, there was a bit of bittersweetness on her tongue.
The sounds this night alarmed her. She had run to the doorway of the library, expecting to see the worst when she opened the door. Instead it was that sky of color she had missed. "Oh!"
Whatever she had been doing was quickly forgotten for the time being. She needed to find the perfect spot to see what it was like to watch them from so far below the clouds.

late-o
Naoya enjoyed fireworks. But he liked to enjoy them away from the crowds, the rowdy children and startled animals. So he had ventured up into the clock tower for some solitude and perhaps a nice, relaxing drink of rice wine. He'd brought up a flask of sake for himself, as well as the appropriate cup.
It was all very nostalgic of the hanabi festivals. Too bad he wasn't celebrating with family this year.
yee
This realization was a strange one, and one that she was not entirely sure what to make of. She decided to ignore whatever implications that might have come with it, instead searching for a way to satisfy her wants. She wanted to be higher.
Short of climbing the mountains, there was one logical conclusion. It shouldn't have been surprising that someone else might have gotten the same idea, but there we were. Elizabeth might not have even known she had company if she had not ventured around the perimeter, looking for the perfect spot. Someone else had already found it. She blinked, a hand slightly to her chest.
"...Hello...!"

Fire.... FIREWORKS. Good PokeLord, those were fireworks, weren't they?
Excitement creeping up within her, she raced out her dorm room aiming to go out onto the lawn to get a better view. It would not do to simply watch from a window. Not at all. So to make things faster, she transformed back into her Pokemon form and was out on the lawn in minutes. Another bang and her eyes were back on the sky again.
Gorgeous. Amazing. Spectacular. Chiyo couldn't help but shiver from joy, and when she suddenly heard the gentle splashing of water nearby she knew where exactly was the best spot to watch the bursts of light in the air.
The fountain! So, determined to get a good seat, she turned eagerly and... froze.
Mondo. Mondo. Mondo who she was kind of not so bashful with at prom. She could feel the heat rise to every one of her fins. And at that moment, she recalled that she hadn't taken any candy since waking up, so that bit of information made her anxious, though not to any extremes. She wasn't far off from the fountain, but seeing him there made it hard for her to get any closer. How would he react? Stuck in her worries, she stood there watching him and suddenly wondered if he'd even take notice of her. If not, then... she might just quietly and casually back away.

even though this post is like two weeks late. She had a lawn chair set up outside and was lounging already, prepared to enjoy the show.
