HOTS CLUB I MEAN HOST CLUB
Who: "Seth" and Voile and YOU
What: HOST CLUB
Where: AE13, on the bottom floor of the student dorms.
When: future-dated a bit to Thursday, 5/16
Warnings: Sexy Nurses and Contests
Warnings redux: dude tag yourself in
It's Thursday; Graduation/Prom is still a few weeks off but finals are swiftly approaching the students of Smash Academy. Seth has been a busy bee, if not withunscrupulous activities preparing for said finals, then he has been dutifully making Host Club beautiful. More accurately, him and Voile have worked especially hard on this one to help raise money for those suffering from the drug riots and related violence.
Much like any other Host Club session, AE13 has been transformed into something bright, cheery, and very spring-like. Spring has definitely sprung all over the tables and flowery decor here. Food seems to especially be in surplus this session, with tables lining the borders of the room in a sort of buffet style. It's not just cookies, pastries, fruits, or snacks, but there is an entire table dedicated to those with a sweet tooth. (Most are actually not drugged but if you want to have shenanigans, then by all means go for it.) There are still some items exclusive to a menu that necessitate the need for a host/server. Alternatively, you could tell your host to go get stuff at the buffet for you, that is just as practical.
There's surely something here for everyone... and if not, he'll make it happen. As in, he'll make the servers make it happen.
To get this Host Club kicked off, Seth stands, in all his grandiose attire, and clinks a glass with his fork. "If I could have everyone's attention for a moment, please?" Once he has it, he clears his throat.
"First of all, I'd like to welcome you all to this Host Club. Voile and I worked especially hard on it, so thank you for coming. You should know you're not only supporting our efforts but all generous donations and proceedings will go directly to victims afflicted by these recent strings of cruel violence."
"Did you know it was National Nurse's Week last week? I thought it would only be appropriate then to have this Host Club's theme be that of healing--Healing and appreciation for those who work hard to help others, who don't get enough appreciation for their efforts."
"Like poor Rhys! I swear he'd work himself ragged if he gave himself the chance. He needs our love and support, and, if I may direct your attention to our beautiful, charming hostess Voile," Seth waves his hand in the air and points at her, where a well-choreographed spotlight follows up onto the mini-stage erected in the room. "--really, everyone look, she is absolutely stunning in that dress, give her a big round of applause--She will tell you exactly how you can offer a healing hand."

Ring ring...
Hello, it's me again~
How's business, pussycat?
Going very well, thank you for asking. That snafu with the production plant under the church put a bit of a bottleneck on the market, but it's not like that's a bad thing. I've already made plenty from it, so no fur off my back. All the chaos in the city is very entertaining.
Ha ha ha, all the better since everyone's pointing fingers at the school now anyway.
I hope you're just as happy on your end.
It is, isn't it.
Yes, how are they going?
That's still a problem? Ugh. What haven't you tried yet?
What if... what about that thing I found under the school?
Yes, that substance it was leaking. I've never seen anything like it before, let alone from a trophy. You still have the samples, don't you?
Yeah.
Oh good.
That sounds promising already~
Tell you what, since you've been working so hard on this, why not give me the prototypes and let me test them out? I have a few targets in mind.

HOST CLUB:
▷ If you want your character to BE SERVED, just sit them down at any table and start making orders.
▷ If you want your character to SERVE, as in you want to put your character in an embarrassing outfit and serve the people sitting at the tables, go right ahead. There are no OOC sign-ups. This session's Host Club's outfit theme is SEXY NURSE. Take your pick of outfit from conservative and modern to increasingly provocative. If you're a server and can't think of any willing/legit reasons why on earth they would be here in a sexy nurse outfit you can assume Seth more or less forced/tricked/convinced/blackmailed your poor unfortunate character into the act.
▷ ONCE YOU PICK server OR served, your character must to stick with it until this Host Club meeting is done, that is the only rule. No escaping, no sneaking out. Seth will CATCH YOU and make you CLEAN DISHES with a TOOTHBRUSH.
HOST CLUB CONTEST:
▶ If you remember how last year's Student/Faculty Auctions went and how the Pokemon Contests work, this may feel familiar. Your character needs to pay a measly $5 entry fee (which will be a charitable donation to help those involved in drug riot incidents) and then they can enter in any of the contest categories; Coolness, Beauty, Cuteness, Intelligence, and Strength. PERFORM your act of [insert category here] and impress everyone! Get creative, use your Smashing Skills and wow the crowd. If you damage the stage or make a mess, Connor and Flint will probably not be happy with you.
▶ As an audience member, you cast your vote by typing a +1 into your subject title (not unlike the auctions with the dollar amounts). That's it! You can vote as many times as you like, just not for multiple times for the same person in the same category (so no +2's or +3's or +9000's). You can, however, vote for the same person once in each category if they are competing in more than one. You can cast a vote for more than one person per category.
▶ Votes will be tallied up OOCly Thursday or Friday, and we will start a new thread to announce the winner.
Server: Bulba
He could really do without the outfits sometimes.
But he was there, not complaining because it was for a good cause and was helping Voile out and…. yeah.
And oh, look at that, his table was rather empty at the moment. Invitingly so.
no subject
Hi, Bulba. One of those is you.
Garry would sit down and then...see...that.
Oh my.
no subject
Hello Garry.
The best way to get over an odd choice of outfit, Bulba found, was to act like he wasn't in one at all. If he was nonchalant about it then clearly there was nothing to worry about and the other person could relax too. Right? RIGHT? Maybe.
Regardless, Bulba smiled at him. "... Hello."
no subject
Maybe. Maybe maybe maybe. Why weren't you saying about it? Well, it would be rude if Garry did, so he decided not to as well. He cleared his throat. C'mon, how long has it been since they really talked. Garry had been so much on edge, he lost touch with a lot of people.
How uncool, he thought.
"...You're working here?"
For Seth.
no subject
The absence, while noted, hadn't been minded. He regretted that he had not been the one to say something more than brief greetings himself, since Garry had seemed like he had a lot on his mind. Bulba had his fair share as well, though he had no way of knowing just how deep Garry's worries ran. For now, the Ivysaur could only try to make up for it during this opportunity.
"Ah, haha, yeah... It's a favor." Bulba nodded towards the table next to them. "...Would you like to sit with me for a bit, maybe?"
no subject
Seriously though, he was trying to not motion to the nurse outfit. As daunting and obvious it was there and...y'know.
Garry, even still, smiled tiredly. You were always welcome, okay.
"I would love too, please have a seat."
Favors for Seth...?
no subject
"Oh, good." Bulba noted the look, but he did as partially instructed, but not before pulling a seat out for Garry. This was supposed to be a service, after all. Sort of.
Taking a seat, he maintained his friendly smile. "It's kind of a really big to-do, isn't it?" He asked, speaking of the whole event in general. "What brings you by?"
no subject
All of the things he can't tell Bulba. He just can't. What Garry got himself into was keeping him from being at peace with anything. He did all of this without thinking. Out of concern for Mary, for Ai, and for Vianca...everyone.
He had to do what it took to keep himself calm as he was trying to fight this danger alone. He was in danger.
Without smoking a whole bunch more or something. His painting had even gone slower.
"Ah you know...things happening. Wanted to go out."
no subject
Despite the friendly smiles, there was something there. Bulba watched him as he took a seat, trying to place a finger on it. Something that seemed off, and yet familiar. Something that reminded Bulba of the days he stood in front of his mirror and looked at the face of someone that had not properly slept well for nights and nights. It took a moment to realize that that was the face he was looking at now, even if it was on another person.
Maybe it was the influence of the nurse theme, or maybe it was just his motherhenning revving up into overgear, but it was something Bulba didn't feel he could leave alone. "... Have you been sleeping all right, Garry?"
no subject
Maybe he could...lie a different way.
He was sorry Bulba...he just couldn't.
"Ahhahaha, yeah. I've staying up late doing projects. Silly me, I've been fighting an artist block and I'm trying so hard not to hit a brick wall. You know how it is, right?"
no subject
"Heh, yeah, I guess I can understand that." He reached out and gently touched the painter's hand on the table. "Don't overwork yourself too much though, okay? A good rest could help you out too."
no subject
Garry's heart was sinking. He just had to horribly lie to a great friend. His soul and spirit were crushed, and yet. He couldn't show it.
He made a weak attempt at a grin.
"I'll try not to, thanks for that. Don't worry so much about me though, okay?"
Please.
no subject
He gave Garry's hand a light pat and then brought his hands back to himself.
"Is there anything I could get you now though? A tea or coffee or anything?"

Voile might have looked like she was fretting a little.
Stopping by the Ivysaur, she tipped her head, "Is everything okay? Do you need everything? Do you need me to get you anything?"
Also. He was totally rocking that nurse outfit.
no subject
The Ivysaur had just been straightening his table a bit, making sure things were nice and in order between visits. Presentation wasn't something he felt like getting chided about when it was relatively easy to keep things nice. Bulba turned a smile towards the pretty Gardevoir that was somewhat fussing over him.
"I think I'm pretty good... What about you? Could I get you anything? It seems like you've been pretty busy."
no subject
"Me?" Voile suddenly asked, more than a little surprised at the very notion. Then she shook her head, "No. Absolutely not. I want to make sure everything is going smoothly for you, that you're comfortable, and that the way this is being run is-"
She pinched the bridge of her nose and paused, because she had a feeling, she'd just keep going if she was given the allowance to. "I would like your feedback on how things are going and to know that while this isn't permanent employment for you, that you feel you're a valued member of the committee."
no subject
Bulba cocked his head as he watched her animation, biting back a slightly more teasing expression as Voile realed herself back in. It was a very good natured sort of tease though, naturally. Voile was simply being Voile, and worrying about far too much than was necessary of her at the moment. Though, seeing as she put so much work into this particular instalment of the club, Bulba could hardly blame her.
He gently took her hand in his, giving it a small pat with his other. "I'm as comfortable as someone can be in a sexy nurse's outfit," he assured her frankly. Which was, awkward looks from people he knew aside, actually fairly comfortable. It was just a bit tight across his chest, but that was livable for the afternoon.
As for the employee bit, he couldn't help a bit of a chuckle. He didn't think this counted as employment much at all. "I think everything is going really nicely. Your work is really shining through in this one."
no subject
Why was he holding her hand?
She tried to remember if she had done anything particular with them. Lotion? No. Not really. Voile didn't wear makeup or jewelry. She didn't particularly stand out. But still, he was holding her hand. To reassure her.
Which didn't make her blush any less.
"Er..." She loved not knowing what to say. Really. That was the best feeling ever. Her head tipped as she eyed him a little more closely, looking him from head to toe. Then she gave his hand a gentle squeeze, just so he knew she had listened to him.
"I'm glad to hear it. The cause this is for is very important. I would hope for it to be successful." Then she sighed, "But I feel that I am given too much credit. Seth had a hand in this too, after all. It's not possible without him."
no subject
So savour that a bit, Voile. He squeezed her hand back.
"And I think you're not giving yourself enough." Bulba straightened a bit, taking a glance around the room. It was elegant, as always, but it wasn't quite as... almost intimidatingly so. "Seth definitely has a flair for this sort of thing, and he's really good at it... but it might have been just like any other host club without your input this time."
no subject
It was always okay for her to comfort and reassure others. It was never okay for someone to do that for her. Except she couldn't say that because the look she'd be given would be one she couldn't evade.
She followed his gaze and nodded in agreement. At least regarding Seth. "It was less my input and more his offer to help me. I had suggested flowers as a central theme rather than just decor and he seemed to like that. But he really did the rest with springtime and how that looks. And when he offered to help advertise for the contest hall, I couldn't turn him down."
A sheepish smile and her head tipped, "We both benefited from it. I just wasn't sure how people would feel at this being a joint deal. Maybe some people prefer just Seth, after all. I couldn't blame them."
no subject
It took him a moment to think of a good comment on the joint venture point just yet, seeing as he was still trying to remember how many of the current servers were actually there because they wanted to be. Oops. Kumatora, at the very least, really seemed like she didn't want to be there ha...
"You're very thoughtful, and considerate, and you really want this to do well. Those are the kinds of things that make people want to work with you." He paused and gave her a considering look. "Would you say it was doing pretty well so far?"
no subject
It struck her so sharply that she physically halted and couldn't even think of anything to immediately say. Her lips parted as if to make the attempt, but all she could picture was her tripping over her words, and she wouldn't have put that past her either. And then she reddened so much, that she lifted her free hand to hide behind it temporarily, trying to make it seem as if she was simply thinking about his question.
What did she really think of it? She hoped it was well, but she hadn't ever had such a direct hand responsible and that was what made her nervous. Because she had to take some kind of stake in it, in the event that something went wrong. And she didn't want anything to go wrong, so the only way to prevent that was to go about and check on everything constantly.
When her hand lowered, she looked aside for a few moments and looked back to him. "I'm not sure. I want it to. I hope it does. I haven't done this before, but just based on observation, it seems like everyone is enjoying themselves mostly."
no subject
Bulba freed her hand at that point, settling his own on his hips for a moment as he gave the room another sweeping glance. Most people seemed to be having a pleasant time, minus a few choice selections, chatting away about this or that or enjoying the food or seeing what was what up on stage. "There's always going to be a few people that aren't feeling it. You can't please everyone, since some people are determined never to be pleased." Bulba wasn't going to name names, but he had definitely noticed the presence of one Wartortle around at some point. The Ivysaur gave an affirmative nod, glancing back at Voile. "The majority seems pretty happy though. I think it's paying off."
He reached out and gave a delicate tap just under her chin with his fingers, just firm enough to get the point of the motion across. The rosier the psychic type got, the brighter he seemed to grin at her. "So keep your chin up. Be proud of what you've put into it."
no subject
She was still so thrilled about that. More than she was letting on, too.
"Yes, that's true," she began to say with a nod. "I understand and believe that. It'd be nice to be capable of pleasing everyone, but I know that's just not possible."
He garnered from her a pause when his fingers found her chin. It was a strangely affectionate gesture on his part and she knew very well that no one else had done it before. That made it kind of special, didn't it? But she didn't know what to make of it in general.
"...What was that for?" she had to ask in that clueless manner of hers.
