What: Phoenix gets beaten up :[ - then he's in the nurse's office or something for the next day
When: December Fourteenth through the fifteenth
Where: The stadium (with the safetys off), then the nurse's office! You can visit him there.

Phoenix had an overwhelming sense of justice. He cared greatly for innocent people, and if their safety was compromised, then he had to take action. He couldn't just sit when a criminal was running around out and about endangering the lives of others.

Perhaps Vivian wasn't truly at fault here; she was just a child, or as GLaDOS said, just an AI who had only been alive for a few weeks at the most. But it was GLaDOS he despised; she was a sociopath, entrapping the school for her own personal pleasure. And then she unleashed this humanoid weapon on the school who would shoot people simply for not having a hall pass! Of course, Phoenix had to tell her what she was doing wrong, but then GLaDOS responded with threats of violence.

And since that time, Phoenix had been extremely cautious, watching his back at every turn for that human turret or for the computer instructor. He had unfortunately gotten stuck under the mistletoe with her once and promptly fled once they were forced to kiss. Maybe he was a bit of a coward, but he had to figure this situation out before being beaten to a pulp.

Walking through the hallways with caution, he tried to keep awareness of his surroundings, looking out for anyone with white or light-blue hair. Please don't kill Phoenix.

Yeah, maybe it was better for Edgeworth not to know. Phoenix, after all, was still quite embarrassed about the ordeal. Phoenix wasn't a fighter by any means, and it seemed like his recklessness had gotten him injured a number of times. If only he had kept his mouth shut...

"Well... she's just... rather violent. Heh." Another weak, nervous laugh. "I, ah... told her that her violent ways were... not very acceptable. So she kind of... did this."

And Phoenix could pretty much predict Edgeoworth's reaction. He'd probably sigh at him or something.

"Hm." He honestly expected something a little more... Ridiculous. "That's it? You scolded a colleague and she assaulted you?" He paused and added, "No offense, but--" --NO, DON'T SAY IT. HE KNOWS HE WAS BEATEN BY A GIRL. "She did all this? Herself?"

Edgeworth was having a little trouble believing that Phoenix didn't even attempt to defend himself. ...And, well, he wasn't fully aware of how dangerous people could be around these parts.

And suddenly Phoenix's embarrassment at the whole situation rose to the surface as his mouth straightened into a line and he looked away, moving his arms to grab his sheets. It was pretty unbelievable that this situation happened, but at the same time, it was GLaDOS.

"Well... She's not exactly... human." Though he had no idea why Edgeworth would believe that. Phoenix wouldn't have believed it himself if he hadn't been at this school for well over a year. "This is the same woman who locked down the school and imprisoned everyone, forcing them to do ridiculous tests."

Come to think of it, he didn't remember Edgeworth being there for that. Lucky bastard.

He had half a mind to ask if she was part hedgehog or Pokemon or some other strange cartoony abomination, but he kept his mouth shut in the interest of collecting information.

"Oh. I believe I spoke with you on the matter when I first arrived." Sure, it took Edgeworth a long time to finally put a face to her name, but he at the very least knew who Phoenix was talking about. "Glados, isn't it?" He asked, then added with a nice hmph, "She put me a week behind schedule."

Phoenix nodded when Edgeworth confirmed her name, sighing when Edgeworth made that quip about being delayed for a week.

"Yeah, that's who it is. I was reprimanding her for unleashing... some kind of sentient weapon... upon the school, and she just... didn't take it well." He gave a nervous smile and rubbed the back of his neck in embarrassment, though the muscles in his arm hurt as they stretched.

"I'm not exactly sure how to deal with this lady now. She claims that her status as a robot-- er, computer - whatever she is - makes her immune to the law."

"Well, I can't say I've run across any..." Edgeworth trailed off and frowned as he tried to think of something appropriate, because the word 'robot' sounded just plain silly. "...Computer legislation yet."

Nope, that sounded as stupid as 'robots.' "You've been here longer than I have, Wright. Has there been an incident even the slightest bit similar to this one since you came here?" He'd read a heck of a lot of law books and court transcripts since he got here, but he hadn't really seen any other cases of artificial intelligences assaulting people.

Phoenix sat back a little and tried to think. GLaDOS had imprisoned the entire school but it wasn't the first time because...

"Yeah, kind of..." His eyes had been gazing at the ceiling, but now the focused back on Edgeworth. "Do you know Dr. Robotnik? Ah, he also goes by the name Eggman."

The only reason Phoenix wouldn't have Eggman's brainwashing incident at the front of his mind is because he couldn't really remember what he had done while brainwashed. Well, then there was the whole thing with time eaters where he was forced to see his horrible college-aged self almost lose in court.

The name didn't ring a bell, but there didn't seem to be too many doctors in the area. What if...

"...Perhaps. What does this doctor look like?" Edgeworth frowned like he didn't particularly want to hear the answer.

"He's ah..." How exactly would one describe Eggman's appearance? Unpleasant at best. It's not that Phoenix had anything against unattractive people; it's just that his looks matched his personality.

"Well... He's... rotund. Bald. Very large mustache. Just... altogether very unpleasant in every sense of the word." He grimaced just thinking of that man.

Welp. "Ah. Him. ...We've met." He was just going to leave it at that and keep children's board games far away from his memory. "Well, what did he do?"

Phoenix wasn't exactly sure if he should ask Edgeworth any further about his relationship with Eggman. Well, maybe after Phoenix told him about his own relationship with him.

"Well... He's... Let's just say my very first encounter with him was him making a post on the network yelling at me for stealing his job." He gave a short chuckle at the absurdity of the situation, and then he waved his hands in front of him, "--I mean, I didn't mean to steal it! I took this job since there was an ad for it! I didn't mean to--"

He cleared his throat and continued. "Anyway, he's always been very... impolite to me. But I could tolerate that if it wasn't for him brainwashing me and several other people in the school with his robots." and Phoenix realized how ridiculous this sounded, because this was Edgeworth. Edgeworth believed about GLaDOS, but that's because he was there. He was not there to witness Eggman's brainwashing robots.

"I mean, I know it sounds ridiculous... But however he did it, it happened. And he got away with it scot-free." That wasn't even the last of his horrible encounters with Eggman. Then there was the thing with the time eater... But he figured he'd take it one thing at a time.

He listened to Phoenix's story with patience, because as much as he hated to admit it, he had no clue about the state of the school before he arrived. Sure, he already knew Dr. Eggman was an insufferable jerk, but robots and mind control...?

"You're right -- it does sound ridiculous." Edgeworth sighed and tried valiantly to suspend his disbelief. ...For the time being, at least. "And I suppose no legal action was taken?"

Phoenix sadly shook his head. Of course Phoenix tried to contact whatever local police force was here, but they didn't do anything about it. The school security didn't seem to care much either. As long as the brainwashed subjects were released and Eggman's interstellar amusement park was gone, people seemed content.

"The law in this place is kind of backwards," he admitted. "Nobody really does anything as long as nobody is killed..." And he gulped. "And even then..." Caim might not have committed the most recent murder, but he still had a slew of bodies behind him already and he was allowed to walk free.
