LOCKDOWN
Who: GLaDOS and everyone.
What: Testing.
Where:Aperture Smash Academy
When: August 13th
Warnings: Homicidal AI, science, testing, and more science.
Reference: Partner ooc post.
You know, it's funny how things work in life. Chell had had returned to the school after feeling guilty, in order to warn everyone about the impending danger that would befall them. What she didn't know, however, was that once the warning goes out, all it does is enrage the AI. So before anyone would dare leave, all the exit doors in the school became boarded up with panels. Any windows that may have been at the school were closed off, preventing any other means of escape.
For an hour or so, nothing happens besides that. No announcement, no warning, nothing. That is, until panels on the floor open up underneath any unsuspecting victim. The panels will lead to tubing, sending them downwards. Down into a plain white room. Thankfully, for those of you who didn't put on your Long Fall Boots, there will be a cushion to land on. Other than that, the room itself is fairly empty. The only things of mention is a table containing the equipment from the beginning of the week (if you didn't take it), a door (that won't open unless you have all the equipment), and...another person: your partner. Meanwhile, a message from GLaDOS chimes in over the intercom:
"The lockdown of Smash Academy is now complete. For those of you who are curious as to what is going on, a manual testing initiative has been added to the school's curriculum, for students and staff alike. In order to advance, you will need to work with your partner to complete the test. Failure to do so will result in...dangerous consequences.
No one will be allowed out of their current chamber until they are equipped with a communicator, a pair of Long-Fall Boots, and a Dual Portal device. Once those objects are in hand, you may start testing.
That is all."
Good luck testing, Smash. You're going to need it.

REACTIONS TO LOCKDOWN
Re: REACTIONS TO LOCKDOWN
Ha.
He was mentally sane. This isn't like the gallery where he was trapped and in so much danger.
...Okay and then he fell through the floor. ...Oh, what.
"YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!"
He was gonna die...! THIS WASN'T A DREAM, WHAT WAS GOING ON?? Garry then landed with a THUD on the cushion. Okay, he pretty much felt like a prisoner at this point.
What was that over there...a table...? Oh, it's the equipment he refused to touch back there.
And then the intercom came on.
...
Garry's state of mind was reverting back to that moment in the gallery. Once his intuition told him something, he listened to it. And his brain said, just pick them up, you might need these to get out of here. Survival mode was on, even if Garry had no clue what was happening. But he was finding out.
Re: REACTIONS TO LOCKDOWN
Guys, I have a feelin' we should leave. Now. Everyone hurry and get out.
If he only read Chell's message sooner...because he then fell through the floor the moment he was gonna hit "POST".
NO.
The school was on its trickery again. He KNEW there was something fishy! He knew it. Just KNEW it. And then Mac's phone met a deadly end...oh no, his friends...everyone. Oh god, please be okay.
Then the sound of the intercom rang.
Oh so THAT'S what these things were for...so they weren't just gifts after all. This was all a part of whoever was behind this' stupid plan...Well, only one thing to do now, put it on and get out to find everyone or anyone. Heads will roll for this. You don't fuck with this guy and his buddies.
Let's go, action time.

"The walls are moving! They're closing in! They're gonna squish us all! SQUIIISH! Just like that! How come everything's spinning?"
He proceeded to flop over onto his back and flail his arms and legs, and that's where he would stay until the floor panels opened up under him.
Re: REACTIONS TO LOCKDOWN
"Oh, man..." She groaned as the implications of this began to sink in.

Flint ran his hands over the now sealed-off front entrance. Five seconds ago those panels were moving at the speed of light, and now they were as solid as if they had always been there.
They were all trapped.
Re: REACTIONS TO LOCKDOWN
That was easier said than done, with all of the questions she had. Did things like this happen often in this school? What is going on? Why were they being put to this test? She had so many questions, and the announcement just raised even more.
Whatever the case, she needed to hurry and get out of this place quickly. That much was clear. Maybe afterward she could do some investigation on this matter and who exactly it was that was starting it, she just needed to get out first. She hoped that the people she's met here at the school are alright.
Re: REACTIONS TO LOCKDOWN
"Hey! Whats the big idea! I enjoy a slide, but give me a warning next time."
The announcement then chimes, and Peacock smiles. "So the true purpose of the the renovations has finally been revealed eh? Fine then, bring it one computer chick. I'll show you what Project Peacock can do!"
Re: REACTIONS TO LOCKDOWN
He knew he couldn't trust her.
Shadow flipped instinctively, landing cleanly on his feet, a hand shooting for the ground to keep himself steady. Once he landed, he lifted his head upward, a growl rising as he listens to GLaDOS's words.
No.
She was going down.
He was going to exact his revenge upon her for this ridiculousness, and he was definitely going to punish her dearly. This will have dangerous consequences for her, and if anyone he gives a damn about is killed in the process, especially him...
He snarled, rising completely to his feet and staring down upon the slightly-altered, yet still very similar portal gun and long-fall boots on his person. He was not going to let that happen, and if it did, he was going to want her dead, so help him.
"Sonic...
"Don't do anything too reckless."
Re: REACTIONS TO LOCKDOWN
The approaching voice entered the room as N fell, the last thing he saw being his Pokemon's horrified expression. N was glad that there was a cushion, at least, to aid in his fall, or else that could have ended up in one (1) additional corpse.
"Ungh--!" He smacked into the fluff, feeling a small ache run through him, yet it proved to be minor. A brief moment passed by as he laid there, trying to regain his bearings, something that took a few minutes. Finally, he brought shaky hands to the ground to pull himself upward, steadily, yet surely.
A test...
Why was there testing being done? What was the meaning behind this?
He furrowed his brows. Perhaps he had no choice but to utilize those boots and the weaponry, but having to rely on technology was not something he was fond of.
After this whole thing was over, he was making one hell of a complaint over it.
Re: REACTIONS TO LOCKDOWN
Oh well. Whatever was happening, it could be chalked up to being the school's usual bullshit, and she was going to stay out of it as well as she possibly could.
So she thought.

Trapped. Trapped in a dark, dreary place with no sunlight. There weren't even any paintings to liven up the place this time. Not again. Not again.
But... everyone else was in here too, right? The school was still populated. Even if she was trapped, she still had all of her friends here. They had to be here. She couldn't be left all alone again. Not when she'd finally freed herself from the gallery.
She broke into a sprint, looking for someone - anyone - who could tell her what was happening.
Re: REACTIONS TO LOCKDOWN
Sophie had no other reaction than sheer shock at everything happening. When she fell, she heard the voice as she removed herself from the cushion.
...
"...Teacher?"

...
..
.
Well, even if it wasn't, Phoenix still suspected him.

WHAT WAS HAPPENING?
Kanji knew that voice. It was Glados-sensei, the super-mega-bitch who taught computers. Well, he knew never to take her classes again. But now she was throwing them into some weird tests?
"WHAT THE HELL?" he called, after landing in the new room. He had landed on a cushion, thankfully, but oh man he was pissed. He knew he hated GLaDOS for a reason.
Re: REACTIONS TO LOCKDOWN
In any case, Sonic had been just getting those boots on, as a matter of fact, wanting to jump off the roof of the building to see how they would handle breaking his fall, but they would have their chance to be tested soon enough. When the floor sucked him in and gravity did the rest, they took his flipping body and gave him a rather graceful landing, flat on his feet.
He could've done that all on his own, though.
Thankfully the gun had fallen with him, clattering to the ground behind him like a drum of war. Sonic was busy staring at the room he had found himself in, the ambience of an unknown source's humming making his ears flick.
He wants to chatter to himself, but he can't find much to say. Instead he picks up the gun, takes a moment, and then throws it on the ground again to go at the door.
He kept thinking of everyone else and he just could not stop.
And he wouldn't be.
What reaction
And then the floor opened underneath him. Before he could get a proper reaction out of himself, he fell down to the room beneath him, and fell onto the cushion with a small "oof." He slowly sat up and scratched his head. He looked up at the ceiling when he heard the announcement go off. Boots? Portal? He looked at the two objects that were laying there and gave his head a tilt.
"Huh."
Re: REACTIONS TO LOCKDOWN
Once she touched down onto the cushions, Sable tried to listen closely to the announcement, still feeling very disoriented. What was even happening...? Something about a test? Surely this was all just some kind of a bad dream...wasn't it?
Re: REACTIONS TO LOCKDOWN
The two of them agreed to group up and stay put in Chili's dorm room until they received further information. However, Cress' status began to worry Chili, and his concern for his brother grew and grew until he offered to go off with Pansear to get some water for him. Though Cress was hesitant in allowing his brother to wander off, he permitted his leave, taking solace in the fact that Pansear would accompany Chili until he returned. The boy and his fiery monkey departed, running through the quiet halls to retrieve some items.
"Pansear," started Chili, looking down to his companion, "Stay by my side! I have a feeling we might need to stock up on a bit more than just water, so I want to pick up a few more things, okay?" Pansear chirped in agreement, determined to fulfill the task at hand and return his trainer safe and sound to his brother.
Just as Chili stopped for a moment to turn into the student kitchen and Pansear stayed close by his side, a panel stealthily raised behind the gym leader. Concerned, both boy and partner slowed their advance and listened to the quiet mechanical shuffling that seemed simultaneously so distant, yet all around them... Chili gulped. Pansear spun around and shrieked, hoping to alert his trainer in time for him to move out of the way. The panel swallowed Chili before his Pokémon could jump in after him, leaving the pouncing Pansear to smoosh his face into the flat surface of the floor. He was left all alone, fretting about his kidnapped trainer. He cried out, frantically searching for Chili before he realized he truly had gone missing.
The only thing he could do is run back for Cress on his own.
Re: REACTIONS TO LOCKDOWN
Something was wrong, and he didn't want that door open any longer. He ran around it and slammed it shut behind him, staring intensely at the Water-type duo.
Re: REACTIONS TO LOCKDOWN
"Pansear? What's the matter? Where's Chili?" He scooped Panpour closer against him on his lap, a final comfort to brace him for what was sure to be news he wasn't ready to hear.

Well, that was going to leave quite the bruise on her ass.

Re: REACTIONS TO LOCKDOWN
Just as Marie had pulled out his cell phone to text Sasha or Eifie, the floor collapsed disappeared beneath him and he was dropped on the cushion with a muffled THUD! Immediately, Marie looked around through the nearly-empty room in search of his phone. Once he begrudgingly came to the conclusion that it hadn't fallen with him, Marie swore. He glanced at the only other person in the room, tried to ignore them, and then inspected the exit.
After a few moments of being frustrated with the single door that didn't open, Marie started to cry. And because he was frustrated by crying, he swore again; albeit mumbled that time. Over angry sniffles and pouting, GLaDOS's announcement echoed in the room. The Wartortle eyed the gear that he had previously glossed over before putting everything on.
A communicator. Maybe that'd let him get into contact with his teammates...
I AM NO MAN'S PARTNER
However, he wasn't going to put up with whatever the heck all of this was about. No, no. Bowser was a teleport spamming prick. He wasn't going to put up with any of this. Unless he wanted to.
((IF THIS IS ALRIGHT WITH PEOPLE... IF YOU WANT BOWSER TO DROP IN ON YOU TO TROLL YOUR ATTEMPTS AT USING THE TELEPORTATION GUNS... SOMEBODY SAY THEY WANT HIM TO SHOW UP.))
