Kid Metroid II: Uprising of Samus
Who: Pit, Samus, and anyone else who wants to join in
What: ANGELS AND BOUNTY HUNTERS IN SPACE. The events of Kid Icarus Uprising: Chapter 8 are relived as well as some events in Metroid II.
Where: IN SPACE. Then the star pirates' ship. Then we segue into SR388 up until the death of the Metroid Queen.
When: June 23rd, but time is so spazzed out that it probably doesn't make much sense regardless of date.
Great. Just great. Pit only just landed foot on school grounds after his 29 year break, and what happens? He instantly gets vacuum-packed into this bizarre pocket of space-time disharmony. Not much time for salutations anymore!
The odd pulsing, compacting sensation that coupled with getting sucked up by the portal diminished, and Pit felt himself floating. He wasn't attached to any structure whatsoever and gravity had unchained him, or so it felt. Pit knew this feeling. This was the feeling of flying.
Or hovering. Since that's what you do in space from time to time. He opened his eyes to be greeted with the inky blue horizon of space engulfing his vision. It only took a moment before he realized where he was.
"It's like I'm hitting replay on this chapter my life or something," he awed as the sea of stars glittered like sand before him. Weird... On each side of his shoulders lingered a fairy orbitar. Yeah, this totally happened before. He remembered like it was yesterday because he totally served up the space Kraken with these little guys.
Oh! And Palutena's power of flight was searing through his wings! Grinning ear to ear, he took an experimental swerve to the left, then a swerve to the right. The first enemies popped up: remboblams. It was time to go.
He remembered this clearly. What was going through his head at the time? The scenery for one. He recalled paying attention to the mission objective... Oh! That's right! "The sacred treasures!" he shouted. Then it was like he snapped backwards in time to fit the mold.
"So, the Three Sacred Treasures are pretty old now. Do they still work?"
Palutena chimes in from her mysteriously omnipotent position from Skyworld, as if on cue. "They've grown more brittle with age, but they'll likely last a few more battles."
"You're not exactly inspiring confidence here."
"Well maybe you don't even need them anymore. Don't be such a chicken."
The angel deemed chicken went ahead and plucked those remboblams out of the sky with shots from his orbitars. "I'm no chicken! I could take Medusa with one arm tied behind my back!"
"Listen to that swagger! You've toughened up nicely, Pit. Remember when you'd be like, "I'm finished!" all the time?"
"I... still say that... a lot..."
Things proceeded normally from here, but not for long...

That was an appropriate description of the sensation Samus endured.
Very jarring.
Samus too fell victim to the Time Eater's attack, like a whirlwind rush to her head and a sucker punch to her gut. She remembered a foggy haze of a strange world bleached white, somehow knowing it contained something personal of hers within it. By the time she gathered her bearings she realized she was suddenly somewhere familiar, yet not...
My ship... She was sitting inside the cockpit of her gun ship speeding through cosmos, but the familiarity ended there when she looked outside the ship's windshield. Below her, there appeared to be an almost literal sea of stars and constellations held together by physical strings of light. Above her, were the dark, inky depths of space with glimmering stars. The computer conveniently blinked with the answer: The Galactic Sea. Huh. Samus had little time to appreciate the sights before there was a deep thunk against the hull of her ship. Then, the unmistakeable sound of a close explosion shuddering her ship, and red-alarms flashing across her dashboard to confirm that.
"What did I just run over...?" Thunk! Clunk! She swerved her ship left and right, doing her best to avoid a gathering mass of small single-eyed creatures. Correction: exploding creatures. Her ship was well-equipped to shoot them down, (and many she did shoot down) but more startling was a voice she heard echoing in the distance. No... make that two voices.
Pit...? The angel may have only been gone a few weeks to her but what the hell was he doing flying through space? How was he breathing? Flicking her hand across the flight controls, Samus cautiously lurked back as she listened to the conversation to piece together just what on Earth (or more accurately, not on Earth) was going on.
Samus recalled Pit mentioning the Three Sacred Treasures from a bike-washing conversation long ago... which meant that woman was probably the Palutena he spoke of too. This is... Pit's memory. How bizarre... He never mentioned going into space before. She'd have to grill the angel about why he'd leave out such juicy details of this kind of a mission (relevant to her interests, one can't fathom why)... but maybe later.
Sneaking up on the lone angel warrior was a mammoth whale! Samus put the pedal to the metal and raced her ship forward, guns blazing against the space sea beast and going, quite literally, at ramming speed.
