Ripped off the last one and all its friends: Basically, here's what's going down. We all know our characters experience downtime after classes and their busy schedules, and this is a good venue for those kinds of miscellaneous dorm-shenanigans to take place. Not only does it give your characters the easy chance to meet new people in a laid-back environment, but it's a good mechanism for strengthening CR. It's easy!

Feel free to begin in any way you please! Plan with (a) fellow player(s) if you'd like! Or, set up a thread and wait for characters to bite! Whatever you want. It can all be yours if you make a thread. So have at it! Don't let this log get away untagged.

[Yeah, that's pretty much all he could manage. Marie's eyes darted between Chika and Vinnie, anxious for a response from his older brother.

He had absolutely no idea what to say. Or what to think for that matter. Chika loved someone. Someone with sharp teeth who apparently enjoyed sucking on her neck, or something like that. Was Chika dating Edward Cullen???? He was almost more curious about how Chika'd managed to fall for someone than who she had fallen for, really... But he stayed silent and waited for Vinnie to freak out say something.]

[Vinnie didn't say anything for a long while - it felt like if he opened his mouth, all that would come out would be shouting and freaking out, and that was something no one needed right now. He had to calm down. Calm.

This wasn't nearly as bad as the 'find out Sasha lost her virginity' thing. Unless Chika actually lost her virginity tNO HE WAS NOT THINKING ABOUT THIS RIGHT NOW.

Eventually, and with very... restrained tones, he said:]

Chika... why did you feel you had to keep this from us?

[She refused to see either of them in the eye, the floor seems like a more interesting sight.

A bitter laugh. She rubbed her eyes, stupid dust.] W-why else? Considering you guys would have gone ballistic either way.

[After Chika explained herself, Marie shot Vinnie another look. He didn't look as frantic as Marie expected him to be, really.]

I'm not going ballistic. I guess I'm just kind of... [He paused, lowering his eyebrows thoughtfully.] I'm surprised, I guess?

[To his credit, Vinnie was trying very, very hard not to spaz out. He looked like he might've been on the verge of bursting, but he was managing to bite it back. For now.

If anything, he felt... hurt that his siblings had pretty much expected that kind of reaction from him. Frustrated that he was very close to proving them right.

Calm down. Don't fuck this up too, Vinnie.]

I'm not mad you have a crush, Chika. It happens.

I'm disappointed that you thought this was the right way t'deal with it.

Heh... you would probably try to kill her- them if I'd tell you.

[Wait. Her? Chika might have tried to recover from that one, but there was unmistakably a "her" in that sentence.]

[Yeah, just echoing Marie here. Vinnie heard it too, no use trying to cover up that slip.]

Her?...

[Her lips curve into a pained smile.]

Yeah, I fell for another girl, what the fuck of it?

[Well. That was... unexpected. Marie tried desperately to recall other girls Chika hung out with. ...Sasha?

Her clearly uncomfortable smile made him too nervous to look at her anymore, and his eyes shifted to some other part of the room. Idly, he wondered if this was why Chika had tried to hide it from them. At her question, Marie shrugged timidly.]

That's... uh, that's, like, fine. [A pause.] ...Who is it?

[punchtheflowers]

[Ha ha, good thing there was a bold nature in the room to ask that thing you wanted to ask but you too timid to ask. Yeah.

Vinnie didn't look away, either. This new development wasn't going to faze him.]

Is that why y'wanted to hide this from us?

[pikabitch]

No shit, Sherlocks.

[Oh god, she wanted to just curl up and die. It was one thing to be so weak to love, but also to something as falling in the same gender. It was like one weakness after the either, she wasn't stupid, she knew she could be easily looked down upon due to both.

And then there was those stupid sniffles again. Great, tears, just to make things better for her humiliation.]

[punchwaves]

[Marie was really not used to being present for Chika tears. His eyes darted back to her then away again as soon as he heard her sniffle. Yes, definitely crying. Marie mumbled;]

It's okay, Chika...

[Meanwhile, Vinnie frowned. He glanced over at Marie for a second just to gauge his reaction. Was this the kind of thing that people normally hid? It didn't seem nearly shameful enough to hide.]

But.. why? What's so bad about that?

[Oh god but there was crying again. Suddenly Vinnie was smelling sweeter in response.]

[Her blood felt like it was boiled it response, electricity slowly dance around her cheeks due to lack of control.]

Why? Because everyone's a fucking dumbass and this is already a fucking humiliation, that's why!

[Marie shot Vinnie a nervous look. Chika was clearly self-conscious about this development, and he wasn't entirely sure how to go about reassuring her. The easiest thing to do was to duck under his hood and let Vinnie handle it.

So that's what Marie did.]

[Chika. There was something Vinnie needed you to understand. And it was this:]

I don't see anythin' here making you weak except your shame over something completely normal!

If you just told us, we wouldn't've had to worry ourselves sick and break down your door. We just want you t'be happy, Chi. If it's with a girl, that's fine as long as she's good t'you!

[She bit her lip while she tried to find a coherent answer in her head. Goddamnit, Vinnie.]

S-shut up, that's a lie isn't it!? You'd be out for her blood either way any second!

[Marie lowers his eyebrows, wondering why Chika's being so defensive over nothing.]

Chika, shut up. We're not mad...

[Vinnie gave a frustrated sigh.]

Do you really think I go 'round beating up anyone you guys shoot lovey eyes at? I'm friends with M's ex, and the girl Sonny's dating. And I work for Sasha's giant muscle-headed crush.

[BACK HIM UP HERE, MARIE.]

What's it gonna take t'freaking convince you?!

[He visibly flinches at the passing mention of Spinny, but doesn't make a scene out of it. Crossing his arms over his chest and briefly glancing over at Chika, he mumbles again;]

As long as she's good enough for you, I'm not gonna track anyone down or whatever. You really didn't need to hide this...

[pikabitch]

SHUT UP!

[This was all stupid, they were all fucking stupid.]

[She curled into a ball as those stupid tears started yet again. Heck, who was she fooling, she's the fucking idiot. She didn't bothered taking the tears back in.]

[Marie looked completely taken aback to Chika's response.]

Chika... calm down.

[He was starting to feel overwhelmed. He wasn't very good at calming people down; he was usually the one in Chika's situation in this sort of scenario. He started drooling and looked at Vinnie, completely lost.]

[punchtheflowers]

[Thank you, Marie, worst wingman in the world. Leave the heavy lifting to him, huh. Fine. But Vinnie needed to sit down for this - which he did, on her bed.]

Listen, Chi...

[Pause. He shot a hesitant glance towards the Squirtle. What he had to say right now was probably something he owed telling both of them.]

I know what you're feeling. Well, not the crush part, I haven't had that in a while. But I know what it's like t'have so much shame and helplessness inside that you don't know what t'do with it, other than turn it into anger. I know havin' your heart pulled in different directions. I know wantin' to shut yourself away from the people you care about cuz you don't want them to see you so weak. And I hurt people doin' that, too.

But I don't feel ashamed anymore. And you don't have to feel weak for wanting t'follow your heart.
