Ripped off the last one and all its friends: Basically, here's what's going down. We all know our characters experience downtime after classes and their busy schedules, and this is a good venue for those kinds of miscellaneous dorm-shenanigans to take place. Not only does it give your characters the easy chance to meet new people in a laid-back environment, but it's a good mechanism for strengthening CR. It's easy!

Feel free to begin in any way you please! Plan with (a) fellow player(s) if you'd like! Or, set up a thread and wait for characters to bite! Whatever you want. It can all be yours if you make a thread. So have at it! Don't let this log get away untagged.

[Although building igloos and all of that had been very fun, Ai was pleased to see that the snow on campus was melting. As nice as trips to the greenhouse were, she was eager to take her Pikmin outside.

She sat on a damp patch of grass in the courtyard, keeping a close eye on her two red Pikmin as they explored whatever happened to be within a few feet of where Ai sat. If and when anyone passed by, Ai gave a polite smile and a wave. Maybe a "good morning!" if she recognized them.

When Phoenix passed by, he would receive the same smile and wave.]

[Phoenix had taken a stroll past the greenhouse, when he recognized the girl who called out to him.

It was Ai, the unfortunate girl caught up in the whole fiasco of Caim's murdering spree. She seemed so cute and innocent that Phoenix couldn't help but feel a connection to her.]

Hi there!

[He walked over.]

What're you up to?

[iaiai]

[Ai's face lit up when Phoenix walked over. It was always nice to have more company. She motioned to the tiny Pikmin by her knee.]

I'm watching my Pikmin. This is their first time being outside!

Pikmin?

[He looked quizzically at Ai's spread on the ground.]

Uh... is that like a Pokemon?

[iaiai]

Mm...

[She considered this. It wasn't the first time she'd been asked that. After some reading about Pokemon, she concluded that Pikmin were a little like Grass-type Pokemon. But they were much different, really.]

They're like Pokemon, but they're not Pokemon. They are plants, but also animals. A Pikmin is... a Pikmin!

Oh, okay.

[Yep. Another species Phoenix had to research.]

What are these Pikmin doing?

[Her smile faded just a little, and she gave her Pikmin a serious glance. It was rude of her to not introduce them... She motioned to the Pikmin that had taken to hiding behind her foot.]

This is Sally. [And to the other one.] And this is Sandy.

Right now, they're exploring! Feeling the grass for the first time...!

[Phoenix couldn't help but smile at this. He got the feeling that it was akin to a child with pet frogs or other small animals, introducing them to others. So, he would amuse her.]

It's... uh.. It's nice to meet you Sally... and Sandy!

[Gently, Phoenix knelt beside Ai, careful not to crush any of these little creatures.]

[A little like pet frogs, sure. Although there was something a little meta about a Pikmin looking after a pair of Pikmin as if they were pets...

If Phoenix listened closely, he might have been able to hear the very quiet hum and squeaks of Ai's Pikmin.]

They can't speak like you and I...

[She cocks her head curiously.]

Are you a Pokemon trainer?

[hold_it]

[Phoenix could hear very faint squeaks, but only a couple times. He wasn't trying to listen for them.]

Huh? No, I'm not a Pokemon trainer. Why do you ask?

Because you asked if a Pikmin was like a Pokemon. Some people who ask that are Pokemon trainers. [She pauses.] Or Pokemon.

Are you a teacher?

[hold_it]

Oh, haha, okay. [Phoenix laughed a little at this.] No, I actually didn't even know what a Pokemon was before I came here.

But yes, I'm a teacher of political science.

[iaiai]

Mmhm! [Ai nodded, taking this very seriously.] Neither did I! My sister's roommate is a Pokemon, though. And I know other Pokemon, too.

[She smiles when Phoenix confirms her question. She didn't know what "political science" meant, but it sounded complicated.]

That's nice! What's your name? I'm Ai.

Oh, is that so? I've met a few myself since coming here.

I'm Phoenix Wright.

[He would have given his name as "Mr. Wright" but it seemed to have too much formality to it. It would be like Pearl calling him that.]

Phoenix Wright the human?

[She takes her attention away from Phoenix for a second, and instead looks to one of the two red Pikmin that was fiddling curiously with the buckle on one of Ai's shoes.]

[He laughs at Ai calling him "the human." It's cute.]

Yeah, I'm a human.

What are you, then?

[The purple hair isn't exactly a natural human color, but she didn't seem like she was too familiar with Pokemon.]

[She shyly motions to the leaf in her hair. It's incredibly similar in shape and color to the leaves on her little red Pikmin, but proportionally much larger.]

A Pikmin.

[hold_it]

[Normally Phoenix would be really confused, but now he just goes with it. This school is so weird.]

Oh, okay.

[He smiles.]

Well, you're the first Pikmin I've met then.

[iaiai]

[She smiles back, then shakes her head.]

Really, you knew these two were Pikmin before you knew I was one! Wouldn't that make it three Pikmin you've met?

[Phoenix laughs a little.]

Oh, you're right! [Technicalities, geez.] Can these Pikmin turn into humans too?

[iaiai]

[Ai considers this, inspecting her little Pikmin. It wasn't the first time she'd thought about what the pair would be like as humans. She smiles back at Phoenix and shakes her head.]

They don't know how right now. But they could. Just like me! And my sister, Vianca.

Oh, okay.

Hmmm... [He stops and ponders for a moment.] How do you learn how to turn human anyway?

[It's something he's wondered for a while, particularly with Pokemon.]

[iaiai]

[A question Ai honestly had no idea how to answer. It wasn't something that was easily explained.]

Anyone can. There are different ways you can do it. Like wearing a necklace or by learning a special way.

[Her expression hardens a little and she gives Phoenix a confused little shrug.]

They have books about it in the library.

Oh!

[Phoenix's eyes light up. He had researched Pokemon countless times but never thought to research transforming into humans on its own... Well, he'll have to do that.]

I'll have to look that up then.

[He smiles again.]

[iaiai]

[Her frown quickly disintegrates and she matches his smile.]

You should read about Pikmin, too! I like to read about humans. [She pauses, thinking a little.] Did you know that brown is the most common human hair color?

[She smiles proudly, as if this is some sort of amazing fact that most people didn't know.]
