DORM LOG GET IN HERE EVERYONE

Who: You, you, you, and you
What: Dorm hijinks and etc. Whatever you want.
Where: Student and Teacher dorms, and quite possibly beyond. Whatever happens happens, bro!
When: January 13 - January 31
Warnings: I wrote 'hijinks'. That should explain everything.

Ripped off the last one and all its friends: Basically, here's what's going down. We all know our characters experience downtime after classes and their busy schedules, and this is a good venue for those kinds of miscellaneous dorm-shenanigans to take place. Not only does it give your characters the easy chance to meet new people in a laid-back environment, but it's a good mechanism for strengthening CR. It's easy!

Feel free to begin in any way you please! Plan with (a) fellow player(s) if you'd like! Or, set up a thread and wait for characters to bite! Anything and everything is possible. Slumber party in the common room! Build a wall outside your best or worst friend's room from whatever garbage you find lying around to prevent them from escaping the confines of their dorm! Gather around the TV for some late night movie action! Kidnap a princess or two! Break down some unfortunate walls! Whatever you want. It can all be yours if you make a thread. So have at it! Don't let this log get away untagged.

[Jeff spent most of his free time either in the library or in his room. He could also be found going between Point A to Point B. He is very bother-able.]

::Oh hey, bro, look who it is, bro, it's the school's biggest meathead and he sees you and he's going to talk to you::

Hey, uh, Jeff. You doin' that workout schedule I told you?

[Oh god it's the blue gorilla. Doesn't he have something better to do? Like... pointlessly lift cars or eat undercooked meat off the bone or something?]

I've been rather busy lately. I've been trying to work in the schedule whenever I'm free, but between classes and extracurriculars, I've only had the time to exercise a couple times a week.

::He's probably on his way to pointlessly lift pickup trucks with his abs or something::

Oh, well, if you really want good gains, you need to get in at least three times a week.

[Good gains. Right. And how many times did the oaf get stuck in doorways thanks to his over-sized muscles? Disgusting.]

Three is... doable. I try to jog at least that much, though with the weather getting colder, I suppose indoor exercise might be better.

[Not that Jeff wanted to agree with Max. But the sooner they reached a polite agreement, the sooner they could part ways and never speak to each other again. Wishful thinking.]

You gettin' enough sleep?

[Was Max trying to imply something? Did Jeff perhaps look less than his usual amazing self today? Well that just wouldn't do. Frowning, he glanced around the hallway, looking for the closest bathroom.]

::He probably just looks awful because he's talking to Max::

You look unrested. You can't put on muscle if you ain't gettin' enough sleep.

[Jeff frowned. It's not like he was pulling all-nighters right and left. He was a man who enjoyed his beauty sleep, thank you very much.]

I'm getting plenty of sleep. Certainly enough for a person my age. Classes were just boring and tiring today.

I take a nap every day.

You're a teacher now, aren't you? You don't have to deal with taking classes all day. And that's not even counting all of the homework from advanced classes that I'm taking.

[Wow. If Max had the time to take naps, then he had time to be a more productive person. Talk about a waste of time. The only napping Jeff liked to do was out in the sun, on the beach, getting a perfect tan.]

I took a nap every day when I was a student, too.

::Max spends like 6 hours a day in the weightroom. He needs that nap.::

[Phoenix was also in the library. Researching things. He remembered that eccentric waiter from that weird club thing so he politely says hello.]

[Looking up, Jeff was surprised that Phoenix had said hello. The older man seemed a bit awkward and uncomfortable the last time they spoke. Granted the last time, Jeff wasn't exactly dressed in his normal clothes. Oh well. If Phoenix was going to be polite, then Jeff might as well return the favor.]

Hello. I've been fine. And you?

[Jeff oh so subtly covered the book with his arms. It may or may not have been a detective novel shhhh.]

[Well Phoenix was a polite kind of guy. So if some guy liked to wear French maid outfits on weekends, that was their choice and Phoenix wouldn't let that bother him.]

I've been... okay.

[He didn't want to bring up the murders, but he figured it made everyone on edge. He noticed, however, Jeff's book.]

Oh, what is that you're reading?

[Well frig. Jeff didn't want anyone to know about his little hobby. He'd been feeling particularly giddy since the murders started.

Then again, Phoenix didn't seem like the type to hold blackmail or announce such an embarrassing fact to the public.]

Well, it's, ah...

[Jeff cleared his throat in an attempt to sound more confident, and revealed the book's cover.]

A detective mystery novel.

[Phoenix smiled when Jeff revealed the book. He didn't think anything bad of it at all.]

Oh! That sounds interesting. I actually read quite a few of those myself in college.

[Phoenix likes to solve legal mysteries okay. It's similar enough.]

[Well then. Jeff wasn't sure whether that made him feel less like a nerd or that Phoenix was even more of one.]

You did? Do you... have any recommendations?

[Phoenix probably wasn't as big a nerd as Jeff was when it came to detective novels. He had read a few of them recently after being disbarred, and in college, but that's it.]

Well, um... You've read the Yancy Crew books, right?

Yancy Crew? I think I've read one or two. Those are the ones about the amateur sleuth, right? They were a bit too... childish for my tastes.

Well, uh... I mean, I read those as a kid. I figure they're a good introduction to the genre.

[Okay he feels stupid now for recommending them to Maya. Although Maya's pretty childish so... yeah.]

Surely you've read the Sherlock Bones books right?

Considering I'm already reading a mystery novel, I hardly think I need an "introduction to the genre."

[Wow Phoenix, way to be an idiot. Jeff is not impressed.]

Of course I've read Sherlock Bones. I prefer those stories to Yancy Crew. They're much more psychologically complex and really make you pay attention to the story in order to notice all the clues. He truly is a genius detective.

Well, I mean, I'm not as up-to-date on mystery detective novels as you are, so I can't recommend much more.

You said you read some in college. How long has it been since then?
