Pokemon! Genie! Kanto? It's a thing that's happening!

The train ride from FDC was always pretty pleasant. The scenery was nice and it was a fairly long ride which allowed time for both gazing out the window at things flying by and also napping. Sonny, of course, insisted it was his treat whenever the snack trolley rolled past. The snack lady on the train had never made so much in one shift before...

...anyway. Kanto in Summertime is a wonderful place. The sun is shining, the Pidgey are Shin--er, singing, the Rattata are looking at their masses of squabbling children and regretting each and every life choice that led them to this moment. Today, they are joined by a portly, young, blue haired gentleman and his beautiful purple haired companion who just so happens to be a Genie.

"So! This is Pallet!" he said, turning to her and grinning. "I know it doesn't look like much, but it's a great place!"

"Yeah, I get it," she said in response. The way he talked about that Machamp they fought... It brought back some uncomfortable thoughts about Risky Boots. Was she right? Was there really no way Risky could change? And if she couldn't, what did that say about the Machamp?

"People like that can only change if they want to," Shantae told him. "The best you can do is wait for them to make that decision..."

"That's what I was trying to do. It just so happened that he kind of wanted to knock my nose in for me while he thought about what I had to say." he replied, that smile coming back a little.

"Anyway, I hope he can get some sort of help, even if it's not me getting it for him. Thanks again for the potions and sorry for the trouble."

Shantae shook her head to banish the unpleasant thoughts, and put a smile back on. "It's no problem," she said. "At least we made it and rescued all those Pokemon!"

She opened up the bag at her side to show him all the Pokeballs safe and sound.

"We'd better get them back home."

"Yeah! But first....? I really need something to eat and maybe a nap." Sonny replied with a little chuckle. "I haven't slept in way too long and I haven't eaten anything since those apples."

Which was like... an hour ago at most. But still.

"That food I could smell in the boat is probably no good by now, being under the ocean? But there's a lot of great places to eat in the city! I just need to get a shirt? Because most places are 'no shirt, no shoes, no service' in Kanto."

"Say no more," she said, reaching into the bag and pulling out the shirt he had been wearing before. "I thought ahead and saved our clothes. It's a little damp, but it's still good!"

"Oh! Hey, that was really smart of you!" Sonny exclaimed, taking the shirt and quickly slipping it on. "Thanks!"

Now he could eat literally anywhere!

...he wasn't changing his pants on the beach though, so, butt hugging Team Rocket black shiny pants and boots it was.

"How long does it take to get back to Pallet Town from here?" she asked. "I'm not exactly in the condition to fly us back... And if we can't get back before dark, we should find a place to stay."

"Well, kind of a while, actually." Sonny replied. "We'll have to go through a place called Diglett's cave. It's a long tunnel dug by a kind of Pokémon called Diglett and it connects the eastern side of this city to a city called Pewter City which is north of Pallet. Either that or we could go North through Cerulean... Well. Either way, we'll have to travel through a cave. Diglett's tunnel or Mt. Moon."

"Aren't there just any normal roads in this country?"

"Yeah! There are!" Sonny replied.".....just not between here and Pallet town!"

"This place is designed so weird," Shantae sighed.

"When I first went to Final Destination city? I used to think it was so weird that you could just walk anywhere you wanted to go by travelling down a street or path! How would you EVER meet a lot of Pokémon that way?" Sonny replied with a laugh.

"Anyway, we could find a place to stay. There's lots of inns and stuff in this town because of the port! Also, great seafood! I'm going to eat so much sushi!"

"Good, at this point I could use a rest," Shantae said, shaking her head as she and Sonny set off for the nearest inn, and a well deserved rest.
