Who: All of Smash.
What: Dorm log! Summertime special.
Where: Student and Teacher dorms, and quite possibly beyond campus.
When: Approximately the latter half of July to the earliest of Augusts (25th - 15th)
Warnings: YOU KNOW YOURSELVES

We all know our characters experience downtime after classes and their busy schedules, and this is a good venue for those kinds of miscellaneous dorm-shenanigans to take place. Not only does it give your characters the easy chance to meet new people in a laid-back environment, but it's a good mechanism for strengthening CR. It's easy!

Feel free to begin in any way you please! Plan with (a) fellow player(s) if you'd like! Or, set up a thread and wait for characters to bite! Just add a thread with the room number (and date/time, if it matters) and the characters that reside there (just for reference!). You do not have to use one character's thread as a dual-purpose for both characters if you do not want to. Doesn't have to be a dorm room, either, if you have something else in mind.

And don't forget: things are getting pretty freaky! Shadow bugs are still rife around the school and city, causing all kinds of trouble, but most significantly capable of cloning people and even objects. For the remainder of July, the dimensional lines are a little blurred and causing alternate universe versions of characters to show up. But something ever curiouser has started to show up on campus... Bubbles?

Subspace bubbles? They look kinda like the ones dotting the sky... Dare ye enter?

If you do, you'll find that it... just ends up being a portal to another part of the school. Sometimes they may lead you into some part of town. Weird! Hopefully it doesn't lead you anywhere embarrassing, like in the middle of a stage play or in the bathroom of the opposite sex. That's mortifying.

7/27: Shadow bugs go wild and clone a bunch of office supplies. Do shadow bugs get bored or something? Beware of that stapler you're about to pick up... It might be a shadow bug clone! They're animate office supplies all around the school. At least it's easy to tell the difference between the real things and the animate ones, because the clones are purple. Unless, of course, your supplies are all purple. Then you're in a bind...er.

Also, they cloned the Kraken fountain and now it's come to life. Hope you brought some slippers.

8/1: You know those hazy purple-black pockets of subspace that keep showing up across the sky? Today, a humongous one swallowed up the sun completely. For almost all of the daylight hours, there will be a full-on solar eclipse. Aww, were you working on that golden tan? Too bad, buddy. You're gonna have to wait until tomorrow.

8/5: A herd of Towtow show up at the school overnight and stop to rest. They'll be there, napping all day with that peaceful look adorned on their faces. How cute! But you wouldn't want to see them angry... Maybe that's why you should be careful not to wake them up.

For reference, here are the rooming arrangements.

"Right now, I want to get huge. Steaks into my belly." Sonny replied, mid-step.

"...or would you rather that I stay here and do some more weights for a while? I mean, I can just eat more apples as a snack. But I need a real meal kind of soon."

"You did it twice. You need at least five sets in. So you've got three more to do," explained the wall of man. "Then we can eat steaks. But you've got three more rounds, so get at it."

"Okie-dokie." Sonny replied, turning around and walking to his bag of apples for a quick top up. He picked up two apples and they were gone pretty quickly, cores and all. He still had his cheeks full of apple pulp when he grabbed on to the bar and started doing more pull ups.

Maybe the extra weight of the apple in his face would make them count for more? How much weight was too little weight to add?

The apples don't count. You put it in your body, and it becomes you; it doesn't count as extra added weight. If it isn't hanging from the belt, it doesn't matter.

Max, meanwhile, went back to his freakishly horrific shoulder presses with two bars in the squat rack next to Sunshine.

Sonny was able to do eight pull ups in the next set, then dropped down again. He took a drink of water in between.

"Hey, Max. Have you seen much of Vinnie since he came back?"

"Uh, yeah," said Max, after putting the bars back on the rack.

"Told me he was quittin' the army."

Max doesn't seem upset about this at all.

"Really!?"

Sonny stopped chewing his apple and swallowed heavily.

"Oh. I'm sorry, Max. I know how much you loved working with my Brother. At least you can still be friends, though!"

"Yeah, I guess. I was gonna make him a sergeant."

Nice huffy voice, Max. "But he doesn't want that."

"Well, if he doesn't want to be a Sergeant, then I guess that's up to him. I hope you're not too sad about it, though?"

"I ain't."

He is.

"....are you suuuuuure?"

Because Sonny isn't sure. He's not sure with any number of 'u's.

"I was gonna throw him a party and invite you and Bulba to go with," said Max. "Some vegan restaurant or somethin'." Just saying the word vegan gave Max a bad taste in his mouth.

"I guess I'm still gonna give him a party for gettin' outta debt, but I sorta wanted it to be more than just that."

"I'm sure he appreciated the offer, Max." Sonny said, frowning. "And I would bet you anything that he didn't turn you down because of anything you did or said. He thinks about things a lot and he's always worried about other people and I know he wouldn't of wanted to hurt your feelings or anything."

Just like he hadn't wanted to hurt anyone's feelings when he left Red Team. It was just something he had to do.

"Yeah, I know. Still grinds my gears. I really, you know, had plans for him. Workin' with me. In the future."

It's okay, Max. It's okay to have emotions.

"That just means you have an opportunity to make new plans! Just, plans about being friends instead of plans about working together. I think those plans will be just as good."

It's OK, Max. Vinnie still loves you. Sonny still loves you. You are very loved. Feel how loved you are.

"Yeah, I know, I know. You don't gotta lecture me. But you do gotta do another set. So get up there and do it," ordered Max, changing the subject.

"Hehe, alright! Alright!"

He'd never been accused of Lecturing someone, before. It struck him as kind of funny. Probably, Max just wanted to not talk about this any more. Sonny did understand.

He went back to the bar and started doing more pull ups. His arms were pretty sore, by now. It was a slightly less impressive showing with five... five and a half... no just five... no, one last rally... SIX. Six pull ups.

"Six," said Max. "In a month I want five sets of ten. And you're gonna give me five sets of ten."

Max was a harsh taskmaster.

"I will!"

Sonny held out his hand for a high-five!

You accidentally just got two high-fives from two super-powered arms.

"Dwah!"

It was super effective. Sonny fell over backwards. Luckily his buttocks broke his fall.

"Haha! You're... so enthusiastic!"

"Sorry, I forget I got two arms sometimes," said Max.

There was a brief pause. "Four arms. Two right arms."

He reached down with two right arms to grab Sonny's hand and then slowly retracted the upper one of the two.

Sonny took a hold of the beefy hand and pulled himself to his feet.

"Oh, did you still want to deadlift me?"

"I'd have to get half of you on one side of a barbell and half of you on the other side. I don't think you'd enjoy that."

"Nnnnope! Even if I could learn Double Team, I don't think it would work."
