Dorm Log

Who: All of Smash.
What: Dorm log! Summertime special.
Where: Student and Teacher dorms, and quite possibly beyond campus.
When: Approximately the latter half of July to the earliest of Augusts (25th - 15th)
Warnings: YOU KNOW YOURSELVES

We all know our characters experience downtime after classes and their busy schedules, and this is a good venue for those kinds of miscellaneous dorm-shenanigans to take place. Not only does it give your characters the easy chance to meet new people in a laid-back environment, but it's a good mechanism for strengthening CR. It's easy!

Feel free to begin in any way you please! Plan with (a) fellow player(s) if you'd like! Or, set up a thread and wait for characters to bite! Just add a thread with the room number (and date/time, if it matters) and the characters that reside there (just for reference!). You do not have to use one character's thread as a dual-purpose for both characters if you do not want to. Doesn't have to be a dorm room, either, if you have something else in mind.

And don't forget: things are getting pretty freaky! Shadow bugs are still rife around the school and city, causing all kinds of trouble, but most significantly capable of cloning people and even objects. For the remainder of July, the dimensional lines are a little blurred and causing alternate universe versions of characters to show up. But something ever curiouser has started to show up on campus... Bubbles?

Subspace bubbles? They look kinda like the ones dotting the sky... Dare ye enter?

If you do, you'll find that it... just ends up being a portal to another part of the school. Sometimes they may lead you into some part of town. Weird! Hopefully it doesn't lead you anywhere embarrassing, like in the middle of a stage play or in the bathroom of the opposite sex. That's mortifying.

7/27: Shadow bugs go wild and clone a bunch of office supplies. Do shadow bugs get bored or something? Beware of that stapler you're about to pick up... It might be a shadow bug clone! They're animate office supplies all around the school. At least it's easy to tell the difference between the real things and the animate ones, because the clones are purple. Unless, of course, your supplies are all purple. Then you're in a bind...er.

Also, they cloned the Kraken fountain and now it's come to life. Hope you brought some slippers.

8/1: You know those hazy purple-black pockets of subspace that keep showing up across the sky? Today, a humongous one swallowed up the sun completely. For almost all of the daylight hours, there will be a full-on solar eclipse. Aww, were you working on that golden tan? Too bad, buddy. You're gonna have to wait until tomorrow.

8/5: A herd of Towtow show up at the school overnight and stop to rest. They'll be there, napping all day with that peaceful look adorned on their faces. How cute! But you wouldn't want to see them angry... Maybe that's why you should be careful not to wake them up.

Where had he heard that voice before? This question echoed back and forth off the walls of his mind, each time growing stronger until it made his head hurt.

"Mii? As in, Mii Fighter? Oh, hey, you're that new challenger in Smash Bros. 4! Me? That could be a lot of people," replied Pit with heavy uncertainty. "But you sound really familiar." His head had been swerving around dramatically to catch different angles of this man. Just after he said that, he brightened up in an instant.

"Oh, no, wait! Duh you sound familiar! You're Samus!" He felt embarrassed for having to take a long, drawn-out moment to identify her- or, uh, him. That was the source of the problem. "Sorry for not recognizing you right away. I hope you can understand. So... uh, I'm guessing the tunnels made you pretty curious, huh?"

He nods, understanding fully, especially in light of the apparent alternate universe portal type shenanigans.

"Might help explain how I got here, and where my other half currently is."

His hands traced over a statue, then retracted--it felt like a statue but it felt like he was intruding in on someone's personal space at the same time.

"Are you familiar with what's down here?"

"Somewhat," admitted Pit, dropping some of his lightheartedness in exchange for a more serious demeanor. "I do know that these statues are more than just statues. They're... probably alive in some way." He knew it might not be the best thing to break to him after he just touched one, but he needed to tell him sometime, right? Pit added onto his explanation with an anecdote. "One of the students who goes to Smash Academy was brought up so we could take an x-ray at the Pokemon Center for free, but out of nowhere he just... came to life. He was really confused, though. It was like we pulled him from whatever he was doing back home into FDC."

At that Samus takes more careful inventory of the statues, furrowing his brow.

"From the x-ray machine, that happened?" Seemed strange an x-ray could have that capability but stranger things have happened. "Have any others been tested?"

"No, but... maybe we should give it a shot." He never thought to try it again a second time, but it seemed like a good idea. Every experiment should be carried out with multiple tests to confirm the results, but the angel's mind wasn't plugged into the scientific method. One try was good enough evidence for him. Pit scoped the room for another Pokemon statue, one they could bring to the Pokemon Center for analysis.

His task was cut short with a faint sound. A familiar sound. It was like insects crawling en masse over a wall. Pit tensed up as he heard it.

"Oh no. I don't like that sound. Where's it coming from?"

Before they could figure it out, the heavy pound of footsteps broke out from a distance. A rhinoceros came rampaging out of the darkness, making a charge for the couple of intruders.

"Whoa, look out!" cried Pit as he swerved out of the way.

Samus heard it too, and nearly every muscle in his body tensed for a fight as the sound drew closer. From skittering and crawling clicks to pounding footsteps it quickly became apparent just what they were in for. Samus jumped and rolled out of the way, just in the nick of time.

The rhino slammed into a couple of nearby statues and knocked them over like bowling pins. It shook its head, addled but ready to charge again at whoever was closest. Its glowing purple eyes narrowed in on Pit.

Samus didn't think twice, he shot at its butt with his paralyzer gun. The rhino groaned while its body coursed with electricity and then it broke apart into tiny shadow bugs, down but certainly not out.

"What the...?!" Samus tried shooting again but they were easily able to ebb and flow away from the bright pink bolts in this liquid-like state.

"The shadow bugs must be taking over the statues!" Since that seemed to be true, then Pit swerved his head around to check out his blind spots. Sure enough, dangerous life was giving the stony structures motion. They looked so... evil minion-like, with their weird purple glow and malicious aura.

Then Ridley(dark) came out and it was a surprise party

From the shadows, like lightning a blade struck Pit's body and sent him flying backwards where he collided head-on with Samus like a truck. He didn't even see the swordsman coming at him!

"Aaaah!"
