FOR PIT - THE BUNKERS
He could not, in good conscience, let his curiosity go unfulfilled.
And he'd found someone who knew the place, even! All he had to do was glide back and forth on the rail at the library's entrance at the appointed meeting time, waiting for his helpful helper to come ADVENTURE.
BUNKERS
"Sorry to keep you waiting," Pit apologized as though he'd spent too much time getting ready. "You're ready to go, huh?"

All those books that he couldn't pull off the shelf. Because he had no hands.
"Shall we go, then? I don't--I don't actually know where the entrance is, so you might have to--to lead the way."

He did, however, seem a little unsure of this.
"How good are you at catching?"

Wheatley sort of had a complex about this--he knew that detaching from the rail wasn't going to kill him, but he didn't quite fancy busting himself up on the floor. "Promise, okay? Because I haven't had good luck with this in the past."
Despite that, however, he scooted backwards a little, preparing to launch himself.
"One...two...three! Catch me catch me catch me catch me--!"
no subject
"Whoaaaa no!"
Shoot! He failed to catch him! And he said he would and everything... But then he felt something thud against his back.
Okay, maybe he did catch him. Just... not with his arms. "Ow..."
no subject
He rolled onto the floor with a clunk, destined to never be caught properly. Wheatley didn't seem to broken up about it, however, blinking his shutters a few times and appearing to shake it off.
"Well, it was--good effort. Go on and pick me up, then."
no subject
"Hey, you feel a lot lighter than you did when you fell on my back, that's for sure," he remarked. lifting him up and down a few times like a snow globe.
no subject
But he seemed satisfied enough, at least. "On we go!"
no subject
"It's right here," he said on a wispy breath, remembering the time Falcon appeared from the floor, decades ago in his memory. "I'm gonna set you down real quick." He gently placed the core on top of the adjacent tile and began to work his fingers at the one he'd been nudging with his toes to pry it away from the floor all together.

OPEN TO ALL - EVERYWHERE YOU WANT TO BE
He found a thing.
He was currently getting acclimated to said thing. Though he'd spent some time with legs before, this body was a different shape and size and, as it turned out, a completely different animal. It was going to take some practice, but that was okay. He had time. He had the entire campus at his disposal. No more rails.
Everything was perfect and so much better than he ever could have dreamed. Mobility! Independence without squishy human inconveniences! Tripping over himself and clomping around campus with no regard for things he might knock over!
Exciting!!

That was a thing, to put it briefly.
Normally, Clear kept his face well-hidden beneath the confines of his gas mask, but with a very robotic presence heading his way at a decidedly intense pace, he decided that it surely wouldn't be too bad to just... take it off now. They're like-minded beings, so it had to be okay.
Slowly, but surely, he removed the gas mask from his face, watching curiously as the fellow artificial man just... stomped around campus without a care.
Exciting! (?)

Wheatley seemed a little too preoccupied to notice Clear's approach, trying to steady himself on gangly metal legs. All he'd seemed to have accomplished was a sort of splayed-type position, with his arms braced against both sides of the wall. Once he'd steadied himself (and it was good that this body had long fall feet, which meant he was physically incapable of landing on anything but), he looked up to see that he wasn't alone.
"Oh, uh. Hello. Sorry, sort of--sort of taking up the whole hallway, here."
no subject
He saw.
He burst out into uncontrollable laughter, high above on his management rail.
no subject
With a concentrated effort, he pointed.
He pointed at Rick.
"And hands, too, so there."
no subject
"You look stupider than a copier machine mashed together with industrial grade lead piping. What in the world happened to you?"
no subject
"For your information, I found this in the bunkers with the rest of the stuff She left."
Wheatley was pretty sure that invoking Her name might get Rick's attention.
no subject
"You found that thing? Why would she ever leave somethin' like that for you and not for someone like me?"
no subject
Wheatley, of course, had no idea if that was the case, but it sounded about right and he wouldn't put it past her, so he was going to roll with it.
"Anyway, it was just there. I figured it'd be a shame if no one used it."
no subject
"Tell you what, why don't you let me pop in that sucker and show you how to really operate it."
no subject
It had, of course, occurred to him that this was compatible with all cores, which meant he could not let Rick have it under any circumstances.
"I saw how you handled Eggman's walker...thing, I'm not--I'm not handing this over to you."
no subject
Rick did the dumb thing and launched himself off his management rail at Wheatley. First class face-flying.
no subject
"Ow!"
Wheatley clutched at his eye-face (he could do that, now). "Can you--can you just not! For once in your life??"
