I'll have a cup of tea and tell you of my dreaming
Who: Everyone
What: DREAMS
When: A whole 24 hours spanning from September 14th-15th
Warnings: Creepy nightmares? Innuendo? I don't know, the usual.
There had been so much buzz about those stupid lollipops for weeks now. Not only out loud, but in her head - thoughts ranging from what's the deal with those things? to gotta have more to pricy as fuck. Eventually, she confused the cravings of others for her own, and it just so happened that her very own roommate had a box right on her side of the room!
Casey wasn't supposed to touch it, but she didn't see why. Money issues, or something. She didn't get the big deal about money either. She wasn't a Meowth, so there was no reason for her to have any. Therefore, the rules about it didn't apply to her.
That was her logic, anyway.
When Ai was asleep, she opened up the box and put her telekinesis to good use. Five of the candies lifted into the air - two green, three yellow - and the wrappers tore off in perfect synchronization. Too bad nobody was watching. The Abra opened her mouth wide and crammed all of them in at once, because she had no concept of savouring anything.
Shortly after, she fell asleep, the sticks still poking out of her mouth. That had to be bad for her teeth.
Soon the dreaming began...

...That said, he didn't feel organic. More like he was himself, but stuck in a cat body that didn't like moving around the way he wanted. Though he stared at the book in the air, and then at his companion. Then at the book in the air again.
This dream, admittedly, was a bit more vivid than his usual ones. At least, he could feel serious physical feedback, and it was almost as though he was in a real place, rather than just dreaming.
Strange.
"No, it's okay. Don't worry about it. I should have been paying better attention."

Eifie set the book down onto the floor slowly before looking over at the kitty again.
"Are you alright? This book seems pretty heavy..."
Aaaaaaa so cute, I'm going to explode
X's head dipped, since his ears were hidden under his helmet and it was hard to tell that they were drooping, as well.
"Yeah, I'm all right," he said with a small mew, walking towards her and giving her the best catlike interpretation of a smile. "Thank you though."
He'd been through worse.
...In his normal body, anyway. So much physical feedback for a dream.
"I've never seen you in this place before; usually it's just me. And how did you manage to lift the book like that? You're the one doing that, right?"
NO DON'T EXPLODE and oh my god these two
And then Eifie tilted her head to the side. "I carry some psychic powers! I normally use them to protect my friends, so don't worry!"
SO ADORABLE * V *
Now psychic disturbances and dream-walking. He had a feeling that if he told Dr. Cain about any of this, he would have asserted that X's higher brain functions went out the window and flew into the nearest garbage disposal.
"How is that possible?" How was she able to get in his dream at all, even if there was a psychic disturbance? Was it so bad that it affected machines like himself? How was that even possible? "I didn't know psychic powers could affect machines. Actually..."
His tail flicked, but it wasn't with irritation or surprise, but with obvious, clear interest.
"I had no idea psychic powers even existed."
fsdfsf
"If it is okay to guess, I have a feeling that another psychic power is in effect. A strong sense of telepathy, I believe. Again, I'm not too sure, so I might be wrong. The world I come from has a lot of special powers, actually." She did her best to explain. Pokemon psychic powers varied so much, from telepathy to possession. "My powers are usually not so strong, it's mostly of predicting movements, so in normal cases, I don't think I can affect machines..."
And then she trailed off, tilting her head in confusion.
"Machine? I'm sorry, but you look like a cat to me." A cat with a weird helmet, no less. Was this the affect of the dreams, as well? Dreams, why so confusing...
Re: fsdfsf
It was true that there were theories that the human mind could work beyond the five senses, and have a sort of 'sixth' sense (as coined by J.B. Rhine), but most of that was considered pseudoscience. If you said something like that in the sort of company Dr. Cain kept, there would have been at least a few scoffs at it.
And machines like himself were incapable of attaining such a state, just by nature of what he was. It was unthinkable that creatures existed with strong Extrasensory abilities, especially strong enough to affect him, but with everything considered...there was no other rational explanation. His dreams somehow felt more 'real', like he was attaining real physical feedback (aside from the ghostlike glimpses of it when he usually dreamt), and he was having a conscious conversation with something he'd never seen before.
Reploid dreams, from what both Dr. Cain and X had gleaned from looking at his sleep patterns, were nothing more than a set of looping if-else statements based on external stimuli, emotions, and scenarios that 'could have been' resting within the Reploid's subconscious (things that X figured would have happened had he made a different choice, his fears, his wants, that sort of thing). While X had the ability to imagine, create, and daydream like a human could, this never came out in the dreaming state, so the presence of this pink cat already showed that there was something wrong (or at least off) with his dreaming.
And even in his wildest dreams would he not have explained all of this using ESP, or other nonscientific concepts that, until arriving at this school, he didn't even know existed beyond obsolete theories.
But a creature (that was quite amazing-looking, at that) that could use telepathy, even coming from a world where this sort of thing was normal?
Color X's cybernetic mind boggled. But in a good way.
"But I'm always a cat in these dreams. Normally, I'm...well. I'm a Reploid, or in lay terms, a robot."
no subject
"A Reploid...?" Ah the term for a robot. Then she finally realized this person(?) was from a world much different from hers. "So if I met you outside of the dreams, would you be looking differently?"
Eifie did her best to refrain from bombarding the other with more questions that she had, like whether the person wished he wanted to be a cat, is why he was on in the dreams, or would he prefer being another animal? She also wanted to learn more about these Reploid beings; how were they different from normal robots? Were there other kinds?
no subject
"Yeah. I'd look a lot more human, for one thing." Though he noted that his kitten form belied the same proportional size that his normal body had to other Reploids and humans; he was small, and X was increasingly aware of this.
no subject
"So what are all these books here? It looks like the shelves seem to go on forever..." She then asked, looking down the aisle to see if there was an end.
no subject
Good question.
"I..."
It seemed a bit autobiographical to be in a library, didn't it? Someone's first experiences shooting an "X-buster", the first time someone heard the term "Maverick", favorite foods, favorite colors...
Just a bit too close to home to be coincidence.
"I think these are my memories. I've only been able to pull a few books out, but the few that I have..."
no subject
"I see...!" She responded, haltering for a bit as she slightly tilted her head at "Maverick." This person definitely came from a different world. "It's so interesting seeing how it's collected so nicely into looking like a library!"
Dreams seemed interesting, but looking into its deepest meanings felt too personal and prevented Eifie from studying into that area.
