[Open Log] Cherry Blossoms, Cherry Blossoms

What: Cherry Blossom Festival
When: March 29th-April 5th.
Where: All over town. Wherever you find a cherry tree.

Pink is everywhere. No matter where you look, you're sure to see the signs of soft pink and white blossoms. There's a fresh spark of life filling the air and just beckoning for everyone to come outside and enjoy the sweet scents of spring. Well, except for you, people with springtime allergies. They just want to make you miserable. But for everyone else, it was a wonderful amazing time to be had.

There are wonderful spots for picnicking! Frolic inducing atmosphere and the space to do it! Every so often you will see vendors selling treats for the event! Cosplayers taking advantage of their natural environments for photo ops! Hot date spots! Blossoms! Sparkles! Everywhere! Even when it rains.

This log is completely open! You can do whatever you'd like with whomever you'd like whenever you'd like. Just start up a thread and go!

"Oh, really? Oops."

Bulba shook some of the cherry blossom petals out of his hair and wiggled his fingers in the grass. "Surprise...! I guess."

Kanji managed to emit a nervous laugh in response.

"Ha ha... It's cool. I always wondered how you guys transformed anyway."

Although all it was was just a weird "poof" so Kanji didn't actually know how it was done. But at least he witnessed it.

Yeah it was kind of a cop-out, huh.

"Everybody kind of does it a little differently. Some people use items for it, there's a thing you can get when you're a Pokemon that teaches you a move for it... A lot of people just use the concentration method. Uh, that just means we think about it really hard, haha."

"Huh... okay..."

This was still really confusing. Kanji knew he wasn't a Pokemon so he wouldn't be able to transform, but still.

"So, you think if I concentrated hard enough, I could turn into a Pokemon," he asked with a wry smile.

Bulba smirked back. "Maybe."

Then again... "I think there was a class like that at some point, actually."

Kanji managed to laugh at that. Yeah, fat chance in hell. Although... didn't that big burly teacher guy turn into a Charizard or something? Kanji couldn't remember. It was just weird.

"Man, really? I can't even imagine!"

Although, he remembered what Bulba said about switching bodies. Maybe it was more possible than he thought.

"Is there a class for switching bodies too?"

Well, Kanji, maybe you'd get your chance eventually.

Bulba wrinkled his nose a little. "No! Or... not yet, anyway. I think people might go wild with power with that one, haha."

Kanji, like any man, would secretly want to switch bodies with a girl just for a day just to see what it was like. But there was no way he was going to bring that up.

"Yeah, everyone would get all mixed up, ha ha."

He wanted to say something along the lines of how it would at least be fun, but he thought it might be a sore point for Bulba, so he refrained from saying so.

"But hey, there's a lot of cool classes here. A lot of stuff you couldn't take back home, like armed weaponry and stuff."

It certainly had the potential to be a good time when you weren't switching into your rival that you were having childish feuds with or falling in love with for a day to make out with while you were still in each other's bodies and....

Yeah okay maybe it was a sore point.

Bulba nodded a long. "Yeah! Though... what kind of stuff did you have back home?" Bulba sounded genuinely curious. This had been the only school experience he had ever had so he had nothing to compare it to.

"Huh? You know, the usual. Boring classes like math, English, history... That kind of stuff."

Kanji was a smart guy, but he just hated putting effort into those subjects. Besides, it was so much more fun to put effort into fighting. He wasn't going to bring up how he failed out of his last school because he skipped class all the time and never did his work. Also there was the whole murder thing going on, but nobody needed to know about that either.

Don't ever bring that up, Kanji. Bulba would totally be on your ass ~~oh baby~~ if he knew. It was his job. ~~To be on your ass.~~

"Ohh, okay. All the basic things then."

Bulba rolled over onto his back so he could look straight up into the fluffy pink foliage over head. "This is the only school I've ever been too. It's interesting to hear about other ones."

Kanji nodded, looking down at Bulba. He really blended in well with the springtime blossoms, didn't he? Kanji didn't know why. Well, maybe he sort of did. He had a giant flower on his back, after all, in both forms.

"Yeah? This is by far the most different one I've been to. I always thought all other schools in the world were just like the same kind of boring one I was used to - lots of studying for really boring subjects. So, uh... You're kinda lucky, I guess, that this is the only school you've experienced."

Well. Given the strange things that happen in this school, maybe not. But Kanji hadn't been here long enough to really determine such.

Laying amongst the dirt and the grass felt right at home. It was no wonder he looked the part too. Bulba idly curled his fingers through the fresh, young shoots of grass.

"Hmm... I guess so." Bulba might have questioned that, being the one that had been there for a while. At times all he wanted was a breath of something purely normal again. Things had been much simpler before they had come to the school. But if he really thought about it, Bulba couldn't say for sure how much blame he could really put on the school, and how much really came from the fact that they had all developed their own growing pains?

... Yeah, no, all the crazy stuff certainly didn't help.

"... I've definitely learned a lot, that's for sure."

Kanji wasn't sure if what Bulba said had a hidden meaning to it or anything, but he didn't put much thought into it. He didn't know the guy or his past or anything, so he just assumed it meant his classes.

"Huh, that's good I guess. This school seems to have more practical applications than my other one."

He leaned back propping himself up on his elbows. Yeah, math and science barely had any applications in real life, but fighting on the other hand seemed to jive well with him. Especially given that he had to do a lot of fighting in order to save lives.

"Yeah, I know what you mean." Even if he had spent a lot of time and effort getting good grades in those other classes as well as the more hands on ones, when was Bulba ever actually going to use any of it? Probably not very often.

He shifted his head a little to look over at Kanji. "I hope you get a good experience out of it." It was a sincere sentiment. Bulba didn't know anything about Kanji's background either, so for all he knew he was just a completely normal guy with a completely normal background. Even while he knew there was a high chance that wasn't entirely the case, seeing who usually attended the school, he just couldn't say for sure. He hoped Kanji wouldn't find himself stuck in a big mess here.

"Thanks, man," he responded, also in a sincere manner. He had a feeling he would have a good experience at this school. Things in his life had already gotten much better, although that wasn't just due to the school. That was due to what happened in Inaba, and of course Senpai. He was relieved that the murders had been solved, not only in Inaba, but here at this school as well.

"I'm glad that the whole murder thing here seems to have been resolved too," he said. "It's not the most pleasant thing just coming to a school and knowing that some murderer's been on the loose."

Bulba frowned just a little. "Yeah, it's really not. I'm glad it's fairly resolved too. Things were pretty... tense." That was one way to put it. "It was definitely a weird time for anyone to show up." The Ivysaur bit back the need to apologize for it on behalf of the school or something. No, he didn't have anything to do with that and it wasn't his place.

A petal fell near his mouth and Bulba absently nibbled on it. "I'm still not sure how comfortable I feel with him doing community service stuff in the greenhouse..."

Kanji wasn't sure how he felt about that either. Murdering a bunch of people usually got one at least a life sentence in jail, not some frilly community service.

"Yeah, I don't blame you," he said. "The guy should be rotting in jail."

He thought distantly of [spoiler for P4 murderer] Adachi and how he hoped he would never leave the jailhouse. Ever. Unless it was for capital punishment or something. In many ways, Caim was worse, having killed more people, but Kanji didn't know the exact circumstances.

"Hrmm."

The Ivysaur rolled on to his side facing Kanji, curling up a little out of habit. He wasn't sure what fate Caim actually deserved for what he had done. Bulba wasn't in any place to make that sort of judgement. But he remembered how guilty he had felt handling flowers for a long time after the events of last year. What would happen when a real murderer was amongst them? But he'd already been in there fairly often... Bulba grumbled a little to himself.

"... I just hope he doesn't upset the flowers."

Kanji almost had to smile at that. It was kind of comical; some tough murderer guy tending to a dainty little garden. Kanji couldn't imagine the guy being sensitive enough to take care of flowers, but then again, what did he know?

"I'm sure it'll be all right..." he tried to reassure him, "I mean, it can't be too hard to take care of the flowers with some instruction, right?"

Unless this Caim guy was an asshole in more ways than one and decided to hurt the flowers just for shits and giggles. He wasn't sure why Caim committed all those murders, but it was probably for the same reason, if he was anything like [spoiler AGAIN] Adachi.

Bulba nibbled on the inside of his lip a bit. It wasn't so much being worried over how well Caim could tend to the flowers. Anyone could tend to them with some instruction, just like Kanji had said. He was more concerned over their personal well being and feelings about being around someone like that. Bulba realized that was something that was going to come across as really weird to someone who had only recently been introduced to Grass Types and the like. It probably came across as really weird to anyone that wasn't a Grass Type at all, or at least didn't have a green thumb.

Perhaps wisely, he didn't make an effort to correct him. Maybe later.

"We're going to make him handle all the fertilizer, I think."

Nope, Kanji didn't know much about grass types or the like. As far as he knew, plants didn't have sentience or personalities or anything. They were just things that did photosynthesis. The end. However, it wasn't unheard of for someone to get attached to their plants, so Kanji could sort of see where Bulba was coming from.

When he mentioned the fertilizer, though, he had to crack a smile. "Seems like it'll suit him the best."

Stick around him longer, Kanji. You'd get introduced at some point.

Bulba grinned lightly. "That's what we thought. And once he's done we can just kick him out and it'll be fine." The rest of it was mostly just a reassurance that Bulba was making for himself out loud.

"It's a nice place to visit though when there aren't crazy guys lurking about in it, if you ever need somewhere quiet." Bulba wasn't sure if Kanji ever needed a place to go to be by himself. If he did, it probably wasn't going to be in the green house, but Bulba had made the offer anyway.

Kanji smiled again at Bulba's first comment. Yeah, let the guy handle the gross stuff then kick him out. If Bulba loves plants so much, then clearly a crazed psychopath murderer doesn't deserve to work with them.

"Yeah, I might come by sometime when that guy's not there, otherwise I might be inclined to beat his face in."

He gave a sly smile, hitting his hand with his fist.

Truthfully he already had a place to go when he wanted some quiet time. It was the place that Bob person had given Naoto. There was enough space for the whole Investigation team to hang out and relax and keep to themselves.

Bulba chuckled. "I don't think I'd be very inclined to stop you if you took it outside." That's what he said, anyway, but there was a faint flicker of concern tucked away in his thoughts. Should an event like that actually transpire, his opinion might be a bit different. It was hard to say. Bulba just thought about what happened to Mac, and wasn't sure what would happen if self defense was called into play. He didn't think much about it right now though.

"You're welcome any time otherwise."

If that location was the place, then now it was just a countdown until Kanji ventured to the nearby cafe to get a drink and ended up having Bulba serve him his coffee.
