What: Some idiot deer gets hit by a car and proceeds to moron it up all over the joint.

What was this place?

Kieran had never before left the comforting embrace of the forest. To see the trees entirely absent, replaced by these strange, perfectly rectangular... caves? It was... disquieting. The paths were full of those peculiar two-legged creatures, casting him odd stares and jostling against him as they hurried to wherever their destination was. It was so different from the forest in every single way... a part of Kieran couldn't help but wonder if someone he had wandered right out of the mortal realm entirely. It was starting to make him nervous; he felt oddly exposed without the cover of the trees all around him.


He... he needed to get out of here. Wherever this was, he wasn't ready for it. He pushed his way out of the crowded sidewalk, bounded out into the road. His hooves scrabbled for purchase on the oddly smooth surface, but if there was one thing Kieran could do, it was run.


[OOC: I am setting aside a thread for WHUMP, CARFACE and also one for the infirmary. For the rest of the log, Kieran will be exploring this wondrous magical place called the school. Feel free to post your character anywhere -- cafeteria, dorms, in the shower -- and Kieran will just... butt on in to say hello.]

"The Mushroom Kingdom sounds like an incredibly delicious place. You must be a very fortunate spirit." He punctuated with a laugh, that eensy little smile growing just a little bigger.

"Alone? No, not usually! I belong to a herd, but this year is my journey year, so that's why I'm not with them right now."

"Hee hee hee, yeah, I really like living there," Watt replied, giggling a little bit.

"A journey year? Ooooh, so, um, does that mean you get to go wherever you want? Like, um, you get to go on an adventure all by yourself?" she then asked, hovering a bit closer to Kieran, her eyes widening.

Kieran nodded eagerly. "Yes! It's part of growing up. Over the course of the year, I'm meant to gather the wisdom I'll need to be a man, and offer up the knowledge I've gained to the herd. This way, even if we life deep in the forest's heart, our knowledge of the world won't stagnate."

[electriccharge]

"Oh, okay! Um, I think I get it!" Watt responded. "Well, um, I guess going to a school's a really good place to get knowledge! I mean, um, that's the entire point of going to school anyway! I think you'll learn a LOT from here and you can tell your herd about a LOT of things!"

She paused for a moment before realizing something. "Wait a minute, if you're from a herd that lives in the forest, then...um, I haven't heard of any people that live in the forest! Are you actually an animal?" she asked, although the fact that there were a couple of horns protruding from Kieran's head was probably a good indication that he wasn't actually a human.

"I am! I'm a Sawsbuck, one of many children of the forest. Would you like to see how I really look?"

Kieran didn't bother waiting for an answer -- being able to take the shape of these spirits was really cool and all, but he vastly preferred to have four hooves on the ground. Thus: POOF. A six-foot deer, proudly displaying his antlers. (He was really amped about having antlers, okay. He just grew those things like a month or two ago.)

Watt's eyes now seemed to be as big as saucer plates. She had never seen a deer this close before! And he was an absolutely beautiful deer too! (And those antlers, wow! You could probably pierce something with one of those!) Needless to say, she squealed.

"Eeee! You look soooo cool!" She started to hover all around Kieran excitedly. "And you're really tall too! Tall and furry and cool! Wow!" Yep, those were a good choice of words right there.
