What was this place?

Kieran had never before left the comforting embrace of the forest. To see the trees entirely absent, replaced by these strange, perfectly rectangular... caves? It was... disquieting. The paths were full of those peculiar two-legged creatures, casting him odd stares and jostling against him as they hurried to wherever their destination was. It was so different from the forest in every single way... a part of Kieran couldn't help but wonder if someone he had wandered right out of the mortal realm entirely. It was starting to make him nervous; he felt oddly exposed without the cover of the trees all around him.


He... he needed to get out of here. Wherever this was, he wasn't ready for it. He pushed his way out of the crowded sidewalk, bounded out into the road. His hooves scrabbled for purchase on the oddly smooth surface, but if there was one thing Kieran could do, it was run.


[OOC: I am setting aside a thread for WHUMP, CARFACE and also one for the infirmary. For the rest of the log, Kieran will be exploring this wondrous magical place called the school. Feel free to post your character anywhere -- cafeteria, dorms, in the shower -- and Kieran will just... butt on in to say hello.]

Well. That was pretty weird, but maybe handshakes just work like there wherever he comes from. Yeah! Amitie ruffled the brunette's head. A bit off but all cool and alright for her!

"That's a pretty wicked name too, where'd you come from?"

"I'm a child of the forest!" He explained proudly. "This is the first time I've left it. I didn't even know that the forest had an end until today."

"You're from the forest? The town I came from had a really huge forest, it's pretty easy to get lost there too if you aren't careful," she nodded excitedly. This was all so cool! She never met someone who lived in the forest before!

"Lost in a forest? What a strange concept!" Well, strange for someone who dwelled in the deepest, secret corners of the forest for his entire life, anyway.

"I find it easier to get lost in here! Maybe someday I can teach you the things I know about navigating a forest, Amitie? It's really a very inviting place once you understand it."

She shook her head, "people outside of the town have a super hard time visiting sometimes, but I'm alright with the forest! I used to play in the woods of Nahe all the time when I was smaller." And falling into a small hole and developed into being a bit claustrophobic, but she was good otherwise.

"But that would still be a pretty wicked thing to learn if you have some neat tricks under your sleeves!"

"I'd be very happy to share! It'd be nice to feel like an expert on something, since I'm a very far cry from an expert on anything abou this realm." Not sure if he'd be able to lend any hole-avoiding types, admittedly, but hey, points for trying.

"It'd be pretty wicked to be an expert of something!" She nodded before her smile brightens even further oh god the light it's too pure "I'm studying real hard to be a wonderful magic user; someone who's real wicked on spells!"

"It's a very noble thing to aim for! I'm sure you can do it. I have no doubt in my mind that anyone who can use a flower spell must have great magical skill." Was that a hint of a grass-type bias? Yeah, maybe a little. Dude just really likes flowers, okay?

Oh boy Kieran, you're really quickly moving into a best friend in her book.

"Thanks! It's my goal since I was really small, so I really hope to be a great one someday!" She said excitedly, eyes filled with sparkles and determination. She's going to be the best, like no one ever was.

"What about you? What kind of dream do you have?"

Awww yessss.

"My dreams used to be nothing very ambitious, actually. All I really wanted is to be the stag the forest wants me to be. I still want that, but when I came here, I decided on something else. Did you know, Amitie? There is a goddess here who is very special to my kind. My dream is to be her protector. I would like for her to know the depths of my herd's love for her."
