herei come snep run over your pokmens
Who: Kieran, Captain Falcon, the medbay squad, and YOU
What: Some idiot deer gets hit by a car and proceeds to moron it up all over the joint.
Where: Directly outside the school, then in the infirmary, then EVERYWHERE
When: Thursday, March 8
Warnings: Deer Xing
What was this place?
Kieran had never before left the comforting embrace of the forest. To see the trees entirely absent, replaced by these strange, perfectly rectangular... caves? It was... disquieting. The paths were full of those peculiar two-legged creatures, casting him odd stares and jostling against him as they hurried to wherever their destination was. It was so different from the forest in every single way... a part of Kieran couldn't help but wonder if someone he had wandered right out of the mortal realm entirely. It was starting to make him nervous; he felt oddly exposed without the cover of the trees all around him.
He... he needed to get out of here. Wherever this was, he wasn't ready for it. He pushed his way out of the crowded sidewalk, bounded out into the road. His hooves scrabbled for purchase on the oddly smooth surface, but if there was one thing Kieran could do, it was run.
[OOC: I am setting aside a thread for WHUMP, CARFACE and also one for the infirmary. For the rest of the log, Kieran will be exploring this wondrous magical place called the school. Feel free to post your character anywhere -- cafeteria, dorms, in the shower -- and Kieran will just... butt on in to say hello.]

[And there is a laugh!]
You're fine just the way you are, though. In fact, I happen to find you very interesting!
no subject
Very interesting?
[Minus the whole yellow thing, he thought he was rather run of the mill.]
no subject
There is more to it than that, though! You poison-type brethren are such an interesting contradiction! It is very easy for my types to be in harmory; both the lifestream and the heart are very much about generativity, life, and adaptation. You are both mana and poison, though. You are an element that nurtures life and an element that corrodes life away all at the same time!

[Thinking about it, Bulba thought he could understand some of the issues Kieran would have with this. A while ago he might have found it odd to question the nature of who he was, but it was only fairly recently that Bulba had started to reaccept that poisonous half as a part of himself.]
It's contradictory, but I think it works as a balance more than anything. It's hard to appreciate life to its fullest without knowing the bitter side of things, and at the same time it would be hard to be wary of poison if you weren't alive.
no subject
[He tips his head back, scratching his back with an antler thoughtfully.]
I hadn't really considered that you need a little bit of death to appreciate life. What an eye-opening thought.
no subject
I think we can probably get along too!
It's sort of like the concept that you can't appreciate something you had until it's gone. It is a bit bittersweet sometimes, but that just seems to be what makes life as nice as it can be.
no subject
[He noses at the ground a bit, indulges himself in a little nibble of the grass.]
That's really the wonder of this place, isn't it? There's so much to be learned here! It's a little bit frightening here, but it's worth the fear.
no subject
Mm... You can definitely learn a lot. it's pretty nice for the most part, but.... It can be scary sometimes, you're right. Sometimes things happen that shouldn't, because its a really weird school.
no subject
But now... I'm in a place where I know absolutely nothing. I'm like a newborn fawn without a mother to hide behind. Do you understand what I mean?
no subject
[But in front of someone so in tune with his own kind, it would be embarrassing to admit that it was a bit how he felt when he had first encountered other wild saurs. All in all, it wasn't really the same kind of situation at all. He might have felt lost, but he still had someone to look to. Being without that... If he tried to imagine it, he thought he could maybe get an understanding of what that fear might be like.]
There's always been at least something that I understood, or someone who knew when I didn't. I guess I never had the chance to be all on my own.
... But I mean, you don't have to be either. I'd be happy to help out.
no subject
[And there's that generous offer. Aw, shucks, Bulba. You're officially friends now. Here is your proof: suddenly, deerface all rubbin' up on you. You are now going to smell like deer for days.]
Thank you, Bulba. I have a feeling it'll be much easier to survive here if I know I have friends!
no subject
But oh hey there was a very distracting deerface all up in Bulba's everything. Bulba had not anticipated this move, and gave a small yelp of ticklish laughter. Nnnoo not the rubbings. The Ivysaur reached out with a paw to lightly bat at Kieran's nose. Shoo.]
I hope so! If you need anything, just let me know.
no subject
[He laughed, but he got that deerface all outta Bulba's personal bubble.]
It's certainly not very winter-hearted of me to expect someone else to do the work for me, but I'm grateful to have you. You speak like you know all about this place.
no subject
[He sounded far more amused than anything else. But there was a brief, curious pause.]
Winter-hearted...? [Now it was over.]
There's nothing wrong with asking questions! I'd think it would be more supplemental than cheating yourself of anything. There's still a lot of things I could ask about too... I guess it seems like I know a whole lot in comparison, but I'm still finding out more and more myself!
no subject
[Kieran got back up onto his feet. Sunbathing, admittedly, is much less filling when you are entirely lacking leaves.]
Maybe we are a little alike, then! I don't suppose Ivysaurs have the same adulthood rites, but it must be close enough.
no subject
[That seemed like an interesting concept. Bulba mused on it a little as he watched Kieran get up.]
Mmm... probably? I don't think I'd be able to tell you very much about those, since I actually... um.
Well I don't know as much about them as I probably should.
no subject
[He would shrug if that were a thing a quadruped could actually do. Anyway, you probably don't want your primo basking space looking all sparse, so he's gonna drift a little ways away to paw some slush out of the way and do some grazing there.]
You must be younger than you look! I suppose you won't be ready to learn your kind's rites for a few years, then?
no subject
[Why yes he was maybe a little curious for his own sake. It was an interesting concept!
He appreciated the fact that you weren't going to eat his whole spot. There was the awkward topic though. It wouldn't have been so awkward a year or two ago. As happy as Bulba was with how his life went sofar (which was more or less Pretty Happy despite recent events), he still felt... Well he felt a bit out of place next to those that were real children of the forest. However that went.
It wasn't the best feeling to feel like an outsider with your own kind, but there you had it.]
Oh... I'm not sure I'll get to know them properly at all. I wasn't raised in the forest like other saurs.
no subject
[He lowered his head to nibble up some more lunch, but then Bulba spoke up again, and Kieran immediately looked up. A child of the forest who wasn't raised in the forest? Bulba might as well have announced he simply blinked into existence in the center of a black hole.]
That's the saddest thing I've ever heard! How have you managed to survive this long without knowing the forest?
no subject
Yeah there we go. Bulba idly stretched his claws out through the grass, lightly scratching at the soil below.]
I've always had Green with me! He's my trainer. I didn't think I needed anything else other than him. I didn't know I was missing it either.
no subject
I'm relieved you've found something to fill the absence, but... I didn't understand what any of that is, Bulba.
no subject
Oh! Sorry... um... Green is my human's name. That other form you have now, that's a human form in case you didn't know. He's... I guess you could call him the leader of my herd?
no subject
[Let's have some more grass to celebrate. Good stuff, man.]
I've never heard of a herd that's ruled by a spirit, but I suppose it's not so unusual. My own herd has adopted Stantlers, and every summer the Jumpluff stay with us for a while, so they may gather our news. Maybe this realm isn't so completely different from the forest!
