[HOT SPRINGS TRIP] - SUNDAY HOTEL
Characters: Many
What: Hotel Antics
Where: Fountain of Youth Hot Springs , hotel lobby and then some
When: Sunday, July 13th
Rating: Varies. PG-13 on average
Much like Saturday night, this log is where you'll be posting your hotel room threads, and exploring around the hotel. This includes the main lobby, the dining lounge [which has a bar], the hallways and the courtyard. All your hotel rooms and the main lobby have little laptops with computer access, if your characters want to update their journals for whatever reason. :3
Don't forget your handy dandy MAP!
FOREWARNING: I'M GOING TO HIGHLY SUGGEST THAT IF YOU HAVE UNFINISHED BUSINESS TO COMPLETE SATURDAY NIGHT, THAT YOU IGNORE THIS LOG'S EXISTENCE AND COMPLETE IT BEFORE JUMPING IN HERE. THIS LOG IS GOING TO GET BACKDATED NO MATTER WHAT, IT WILL NOT BE COMPLETED TONIGHT. IT'S NOT GOING ANYWHERE AND WE CAN WAIT FOR YOU. <3
OR IF YOU'RE COOL WITH DROPPING WHATEVER ACTIVIES YOU WERE DOING, ASSUMING THINGS WERE ALL WELL AND MOVING ON, THAT'S ALRIGHT. Just, mightmaybe be a good idea to talk with whomever your character might of been interacting with if it's possible, in case they wanted to do something special with you.
OR, IF YOU THINK YOU CAN HANDLE DOUBLE-DAY POSTING, THAT'S FINE TOO. JUST TRY NOT TO GET CONFUSED, BECAUSE I SURE AS HELL WOULD.
Same rules in this log as before--post new comments with appropriate labels for your hotel rooms, main lobby, ect... and reply to them accordingly.
If it's not too much trouble, linking to threads when you thread hop [or tegaki log] helps lessen the confusion! X)
We'll be checking out of the hotel Monday morning, so have your characters stay up late again when they're done playing in the springs, if you like! Have fun!

Re: Room #1: Nintantics abound: I'm not crazy, really!
His struggles grew weaker, as he quickly lost any remaining strength he had left. Still, he refused to let go of Poo's arm.
Ninten's head dropped, and his breathing slowed. "I couldn't live with myself," he said quietly. "Live... knowing that anyone else was hurt... because of me... Of my actions." He gripped Poo's wrist as tight as he could. "That's why... why only I can do this. Besides..."
He lifted his head, and met Poo's gaze with a devilish glare. A sinister smile spread across his face. "...you don't have what it takes... to kill someone. What chance do you think you possibly have against Porky? Against a newly revived Giegue?"
Ninten started into a slow, almost hysterical laughter. "You wouldn't have had a chance back before he lost himself. If it wasn't for that machine, if it wasn't for me, you'd all be dead," he giggled. "...if Porky succeeds... You'll all die..."
Re: Room #1: Nintantics abound: I'm not crazy, really!
He was certainly moved by them though. This probably was not easily seen, except for perhaps by Ness...
"You..." Poo sternly tossed the struggling, giggling teen backwards onto his empty bed. "Need rest."
Poo stalked to one of the tatami mat's right next to Ness's bed, and sat back down to meditate; he placed himself in a position where he could EASILY keep an eye on Ninten. Poo had nothing more to say tonight, though there was a lot on his mind.
Re: Room #1: Nintantics abound: I'm not crazy, really!
...Wait. Sure there had been a maelstrom of crazy emotions that night but now there was something seriously off about Ninten's voice, not to mention the expression matching it. He looked...mad. Crazy-mad, and coupled with what he was saying did not help Ness feel any better about their sutation; it actually send a shiver up his spine. Mostly because of how those words resinated with what he actually felt.
It was something Ness had avoided contemplating despite the fact that he knew he might be faced with the event at some point down the line: confronting Porky, and actually having to neutralize him. Anyone else who knew of Porky's past deeds would say, probably without hesitation, that he should not be allowed to continue being the threat that he was. Should Porky succeed in reviving Giygas, and if they were lucky enough to be presented with an opportunity to strike Porky down, would he be able to? Ness looked down from Ninten's twisted face to the floor. To his own hands. The Porky he had known since they were young was still in there, somewhere, or so he believed. Could he actually, for even a moment, put that thought aside and...kill him?
Ness himself clenched those hands into fists. He didn't have to answer that question now, but he already knew what the conclusion would be. Ness was not the sort of person who gave up easily, and he wasn't about to start with giving up on the sort of person he was.
Placing a hand on his knee the messy-haired boy pushed himself up to his feet, several seconds after Ninten landed on the bed with a bounce. He appreciated Poo's presence so, so much right then, but the thanks would have to come later. For now, Ness had to set something straight with the upperclassman.
"No 'ifs,' Ninten." His voice was firm, as was the lock he had on Ninten's gaze. "'If it wasn't for that machine,' 'if it wasn't for you,' 'if it wasn't for Giegue.' That's all in the past. There's nothing we can do about what's already happened. 'If Porky succeeds'...that's only the future, a future we can prevent by acting in the present."
Ness turned to fully face Ninten, confidence written all over his features. Forget being too scared to kill people if it wasn't even on the to-do list. "Action doesn't mean a thing if your heart's not in the right place. And even if your heart is, right now your mind isn't. So stop." He lifted his head slightly, drawing in a breath as he did so. "Stop talking like the only hope left in the entire world died when you let Giegue escape. We're still here, Ninten. We wouldn't still be here if we weren't supposed to be!" Ness slammed his hands down onto the bed as he shouted this, no longer trying to minimize his voice for the sake of their sleeping next-door neighbors - no, he was too fired up now, Ninten had rubbed him the wrong way. "Why don't you just try believing in us?!"
Re: Room #1: Nintantics abound: I'm not crazy, really!
That is...until Ness began to talk.
Throughout Ness's entire tirade Ninten's face softened from that of a snarling beast to more of a scared child amidst a battle field. Every word hit him hard, and although it only made him feel worse, it also seemed to slowly empty him as well. Everything Ness was saying was true, every damn word. As much as Ninten wanted to protest, he simply couldn't find the words.
He stared at Ness, as the younger boy stood hunched over Ninten's bed. The dead silence was broken as tears started to trickle down Ninten's face. Ninten bit down on his lip, no longer caring if the tears came out. He could cry an ocean at this point, and it still wouldn't matter.
They psychic teen shot forward, wrapping his arms around Ness in a tight hug. He sobbed into Ness's shoulder, simply holding the younger boy in his arms. "...you're right..." he whispered to Ness.
Ninten pushed himself off, and placed a hand to each shoulder. "You're right. I can't... I can't keep this burden on me." He laughed, almost giggled really, in a most light hearted fashion. "This whole time I've been trying to run away from everything, thinking I could do it all on my own. Thinking... that I was the only one who could do it." Ninten slowly shook his head. "But I'm being stupid, crazy even, to think I can do it all on my own." He closed his eyes, thinking back to that day.
"I wouldn't have even been able to do it back then without my friends beside me." Ninten dropped back from Ness with a little sigh.
His hand pressed down on something hidden below the sheets. A tiny, light hearted jingle began to play as though it were a music box. The teen rummaged through the sheets, and pulled out a tiny doll. "Flying man," Ninten said, as he ran a finger across the painstakingly precise hand stitching that lined the doll's body. "There were so many people who had given so much just for me. I'd be a fool to let their sacrifices be in vain."
Ninten laughed again. "It's funny. I'm the older one, and yet you're so much more mature than I am. Your friends are... lucky to have you, Ness." He looked up at his perpetual double with a grin. "I can't help but feel you've done something like this before," he chuckled.
In that instant Ninten's mind cleared ((and he gained a new PSI ability wut?)). All his fears, all of his anxieties. Everything that had been plaguing him for so many years, all of it vanished. For once in his life, Ninten finally felt at peace with himself. He finally felt happy.
"I'm sorry Ness, Poo, for the way I acted. But, somehow, I have a feeling I won't have to worry about it anymore. But there is something I have to take care of," he said, looking over at the broken phone beside his bed. "I think I... need to call my dad."
Re: Room #1: Nintantics abound: I'm not crazy, really!
Ness' eyes went wide as Ninten pulled him into the hug, alarmed, but not out of fear. No, far from it. The boy who was holding him right then, the boy who had taken a baseball bat to the hotel phone and who appeared to have been on the verge of throwing a fist at Poo only moments prior, was at his most genuine as he allowed his tears to flow freely down his cheeks. It reminded him vaguely of Magicant; Ninten was hiding nothing now. And it seemed that, as far as Ness' own experiences in Magicant were concerned, Ninten was coming to terms with himself, or something about himself. He recognized that look as Ninten pulled away to arm's-length and stared into his eyes, he recognized that feeling. The feeling of a tremendous weight being lifted off of his shoulders.
His shocked expression was no more. Ninten's words were perhaps as cathartic as his own had been. Ness smiled with great relief and silent joy that his friend of only several weeks had, after years and years of struggle, mental anguish and self-torture, come to this point and was able to let everything that had built up over that time go.
The doll that Ninten held in his hands, and that melody Ness could not name but still was so familiar, incited a tiny churning in his stomach, a sort of pang in the gut, but not painful and not in the negative sense. It was just a flash of memory - a memory charged with emotion, that he and Ninten seemed to share in some way. He too had known the sacrifices people the world over had made for him and his friends, on top of the sacrifices made by those at the heart of his mind.
Ninten's remark about maturity made Ness quickly look up from the Flying Man doll to the older boy's face. Well gee, he didn't know about that, he only did what he had to do, and say what he felt ought be said. Still, Ness could not deny that he had grown up, at least a little, over the course of his adventure. "Ninten..."
Now he was the one at a loss for how to answer. Ness was touched, it was not often one recieved such a heartfelt thank-you, and he could not think of a way to respond that would not diminish what Ninten had said. So he just closed his eyes and nodded once, and when his head lifted he was smiling broadly, that same playful spark in his gaze as always. Yeah. Call your dad, Ninten. After all, there's nothing more important than the people you love. "...I'm just as lucky as you are."
