DORM LOG GET IN HERE EVERYONE

Warnings: I wrote 'hijinks'. That should explain everything.

Ripped off the last one and all its friends: Basically, here's what's going down. We all know our characters experience downtime after classes and their busy schedules, and this is a good venue for those kinds of miscellaneous dorm-shenanigans to take place. Not only does it give your characters the easy chance to meet new people in a laid-back environment, but it's a good mechanism for strengthening CR. It's easy!

Feel free to begin in any way you please! Plan with (a) fellow player(s) if you'd like! Or, set up a thread and wait for characters to bite! Anything and everything is possible. Slumber party in the common room! Build a wall outside your best or worst friend's room from whatever garbage you find lying around to prevent them from escaping the confines of their dorm! Gather around the TV for some late night movie action! Kidnap a princess or two! Break down some unfortunate walls! Whatever you want. It can all be yours if you make a thread. So have at it! Don't let this log get away untagged.

[Alex had gotten a real bad scratch on his cheek from a fight he had a little while ago. It's been bandaged up, but he still looked pretty down about it.

He noticed the familiar girl and wandered over to where she was drawing.]

'Ey.

[He raises a brow.]

Drawin'?

[Oh, it was Alex! He looked a bit banged up, though, wonder what happened? For now, she wasn't going to press on that. Not just yet, at least.]

Hi!

Uh-huh, I've been drawing all day today. Like, um...

[And then she shoves her sketchbook in front of Alex's face.]

I'm drawing one of the trees outside right now! See?

[thunderbutt]

[Alex was never good at drawing or thinking creatively. He stares hard at the sketchbook as he raises his brow before looking over at the trees that stood across from where they were.]

Huh. It kinda looks like weird hands.

[HE DOESN'T MEAN BAD, SORRY WATT.]

[Naaah it's cool! Still, Watt looks just a tad worried about her drawing.]

It does? Awww, no...it's not supposed to look like that.

[She looks over to the trees, and then back at her sketchbook, puzzled.]

Um, I never really knew how hard it is to draw trees! It's the branches that are really hard for me. Maybe, um, that's why they look like weird hands.

[thunderbutt]

...Ain't it just easier to take a photo? Looks pain in the ass to draw all those branches.

[THAT'S NOT HOW ART WORKS, ALEX.]

Hmmmm...I guess that could work...but, um, I wanna draw everything out.

...oh! Wait! I got an idea!

[She hastily scribbles a bunch of loops around the trees, erasing the weird hand branches at the end. TADA now the trees have leaves on them! Or, at least that was her intent.]

Okay, NOW it looks like the tree has a bunch of leaves on it. ...even though it doesn't even look like the trees outside anymore. But that's okay!

[thunderbutt]

[Alex is vaguely reminded of Skarmory's doodles from who knows when, but at least Watt's better at drawing (possibly).]

Yeah, that kinda looks like a tree now but weren't you tryin' to draw the trees outside?

[And then he wonders why people were annoyed of him.]

Oh...oh yeah.

Well. Um.

...branches are hard to draw so I'll learn how to draw those right later! I think this is what the trees outside would look like when it's springtime again.

[thunderbutt]

Looks like it.

[And then he pauses for a moment before speaking again.]

...So were ya just drawin' trees?

For now, yeah! But, um, I've been drawing a lot of things today too. Mostly stuff outside. It's been great!

Hey, um...I wanted to ask you something, too. Why do you have that big bandage on your face? Did something happen?

[thunderbutt]

[He linefaces a bit, unsure whether he wants to talk about it or not.]

Got into an argument.

Ohhhh, I see. That's never fun. Well, um, are you okay? Besides the whole bandage on your cheek thing, I mean.

[thunderbutt]

Yeah... Guess I am?

...Actually, I ain't sure myself.

[Yeah, he's been a pretty pissy guy, but he was feeling even more so lately.]

Hmmmm…

[Watt is staring to look pretty concerned for Alex, here!]

Well, um…if you don’t know, then, um, do you wanna talk about it? I can listen if ya want!

alex no this is is bad idea

[thunderbutt]

[Did he want to talk about being kissed by a dude? Would Watt even understand? Alex gives a long stare at Watt, trying to determine if he should.]

...Have ya ever kissed anyone?

Ahahahahaaaaa

[Watt looked up in thought. Kissed anyone? Like...kiss kiss? Like as if she made out with someone? He probably meant making out with someone.]

Um, not really...

[thunderbutt]

[And then he slowly started feeling regretful for bringing it up. Alex and his poor judgement!]

...Never mind then.

Oh, um...okay. I'm sorry I'm not much help at this.

[Still, she wants to help Alex with feeling better! She still doesn't have much of an idea about why he's so down, but she still wants to cheer him up anyway.]

Um, well...oh, I know! Can I draw a picture for you so that you can feel better?

[thunderbutt]

[A drawing of himself? He couldn't say no!]

You serious? Then can you draw me in my Pokemon form?

[And then he turns into his Zapdos form and opens his wings up with a squawk.]

Hee hee! Sure thing! Lemme just open up to a new page...

[And so, she flips the page in her sketchbook and gets down to work! She slowly starts drawing the big Zapdos, looking up every so often so that she knows exactly what to draw. The problem is that she's pretty slow. Drawing for other people meant that she wanted to get absolutely everything right and to make no mistakes! As a result, it took a while for her to finish the drawing.

When it was finally done, she flipped over her sketchbook and showed her hard work to Alex.]

Ta-daaa! What do you think?

[thunderbutt]

[He really wanted to sit down after a while. Standing four hours (well not really that long...) made his feet tired, so he ended up shuffling around a bit while Watt drew. Alex immediately turns back into his human form when Watt was finished.]

Whoa! That's... awesome... I guess?

[He raises a brow. It wasn't what he expected, he wanted something really awesome like a professional portrait! He was expecting too much...]

[Watt could hint at the hesistation that Alex was giving her. Still, she was grateful that he was mostly happy with it!]

Um...hee hee, I haven't really practiced much with drawing people or animals or other things like that. It kinda shows, huh?

[She looked back at her own drawing. Yeah, it wasn't the best thing she's ever made but it was a good start. She tore off the piece of paper from the sketchbook as cleanly as she could and offered it to Alex.]

But you can still keep my picture if you want to!

[thunderbutt]

Nah, don't want it.

[What a dick, he just rejected something someone worked so hard for!]

[Awwwww, so he didn't like it after all. And now Watt is sad.]

Oh...um, okay.

[And so she put her drawing right back into her sketchbook.]

[thunderbutt]

[And he didn't know why she looked so down.]

Huh.

[He gives a shrug.]

Well good luck with yer drawin' and stuff.

[Sorry Watt. Wait about a month and he'll be a little more nice.]
