Warnings: I wrote 'hijinks'. That should explain everything.

Ripped off the last one and all its friends: Basically, here's what's going down. We all know our characters experience downtime after classes and their busy schedules, and this is a good venue for those kinds of miscellaneous dorm-shenanigans to take place. Not only does it give your characters the easy chance to meet new people in a laid-back environment, but it's a good mechanism for strengthening CR. It's easy!

Feel free to begin in any way you please! Plan with (a) fellow player(s) if you'd like! Or, set up a thread and wait for characters to bite! Anything and everything is possible. Slumber party in the common room! Build a wall outside your best or worst friend's room from whatever garbage you find lying around to prevent them from escaping the confines of their dorm! Gather around the TV for some late night movie action! Kidnap a princess or two! Break down some unfortunate walls! Whatever you want. It can all be yours if you make a thread. So have at it! Don't let this log get away untagged.

[Knock knock! Riley taps on the door lightly. It's just him on his own today but he'd thought he'd check in on the boxer.]

Mac?

[Oh uh.]

Riley? That you?

[Sounded like it.]

[OPENED LE DOOR.]

Good afternoon. I came in to see how you were doing.

[A smile, but it's not enough to disguise the worry.]

...I'm...okay, I guess.

[No he's not.]

Just kinda doin' what I can over here.

[auraqualia]

[He comes in, closing the door behind him.]

Hm. Then you're not okay, surely?

[...Dammit Riley. And you're catching him when he is starting to become most vulnerable since now he knew who had been killing people. He didn't want his friends involved more than they already are...He stayed quiet but then tried to change the subject stupidly.]

Uh, hey! You wanna drink? I got mainly sports drinks but I also got water if you want.

[auraqualia]

I just want you to be honest.

[He adjusts his hat, before taking it off.]

[Honest...? Could you be more vague, Riley? Mac fetches Riley a water bottle anyway.]

...What's there to really talk about Riley?

[Mac's voice went solemn at that point.]

It all sucks. I got Max havin' him and some army guys watchin' me all the time and I'm told I gotta stay put and wait for it to end.

I know how it feels. When I heard that you had been hurt, I would have raced out and found this killer in a heartbeat; beat him with my hands until my soul was sated with his blood. But Lucario and the rest of them stopped me from doing so. And it occurred to me that I was better served to be at your side than fallen in metal gear revengeance.

[He waves his hand ever so slightly, and his eyes glow blue with aura. It was meant to make Mac calm down, but whether this works or not is another matter.]

Would you honestly survive another encounter with this killer? It may seem suffocating but all these precautions are with your best interests at heart.

[It's not like Mac thought Riley was wrong. It just stung. Normally, he would accept this. But this was not Calm Mac, this was Broken Emotional Mac. Broken Emotional Mac is barely around like ever, but when he does show his face, it gets rough.]

I'm a fighter, Riley. I trained to fight so I could. Not just for me bein' able to take care of myself either. But for times like this when all you guys are in a mess like this. When I'm told I gotta sit and let people I care about be my wall for my own safety, it makes me feel like garbage.

[He felt like he's said this before, but he didn't care about that. He was serious about this stuff and more serious now than ever.]

So what do you want to do about it?

[Riley can sense Mac's hostility and frustration from a mile off. His normally level voice is a few tones louder, impassioned with keeping his friends safe.]

Being a fighter means you choose your battles! You master your emotions, not let them get the better of you! Do you want to fight incapacitated? Tell me!

I would if I hadta!

[Riley was pushing his emotions further out the way it was going. It was making Mac be more explosive with them and now he wasn't holding any of it back.]

If I can fight so no one gets to go through the same stuff I did back there, then I would! No one out there deserves to get killed by this guy! I don't wanna lose people in my life again if I can try! It ain't like a car wreck or somethin', it's some guy out there gettin' crazy with murder! Murder! You said you know how it feels, but do you really??

Do you really know how it feels to be in that hospital bed lookin' like a zombie from almost dyin' when all the guys you care about look at you like a ghost!? All the people you probably give your life for fightin' anyway only to lose a fight in defense from some guy when you were tryin' to make any sense of what was even happenin'?!

[And Riley just stood there, listening. He felt sorry for Mac, but most of all he felt concerned. He's just going to let him finish what he's saying. He puts his hat back on his head, his face impassive to how he's feeling. That stung, yes but only because he thought Mac had more sense than this. Mac was always his sensible friend. Let's not get into Riley's feelings, because that is another boat of emotion all together. Why won't you listen to him?

He crosses his arms lightly. He almost wants to ask whether Mac is done.]

[Why isn't he saying anything? Riley's got nothing to add? He just exploded out his feelings, it wasn't like anything he'd done before. Never had he expressed such heavy feelings in front of ANYONE. Not Falcon, not Pit, not N, not Max, not even Daisy. Doc might have seen it once but...Since he snapped, he would be inclined to think that Riley was insulting him. However, Mac really was just confused. Riley didn't look like he felt anything.]

...Well...there you have it.

[He went toward the door.]

If you ain't got nothin' else to add, I think I made up my mind. I'm gonna fight. I ain't havin' anyone else be my meat shield.

[Welp. He snapped. Mac's common sense left him.]

... No.

[Riley moves forward, blocking Mac from exiting. He's thankful he's quick enough to get to the door before the other did.]

You will have to punch me in the face, if you are going to leave through that door.

[star_punched]

I ain't doin' that Riley. I ain't punchin' you in the face.

[He looked at him pretty crossly.]

But if you understood, you'd get outta the way. I need to do this.

[auraqualia]

[It's come to the point where Riley is standing his ground, immoving. He will not budge. He won't let Mac do this to himself. He needs to protect Mac, protect him from himself...]

I understand. I understand that there is much to lose if I move from my position!

[star_punched]

It's okay for a lotta other people to hunt this guy but not me, huh? Cuz I got hurt, that it?

[He looked angry still.]

If I let every injury get me down, I wouldn't be called a boxer.

...You're not makin' me punch you. I mean it though, please move.

[auraqualia]

No.

[And that was that. Riley was immovable. He just hopes that Mac will tire himself out and relent.]

[Not yet. He's coming closer.]

[Eventually, he tried to shove his way through the door?!]
