Reset Everything to Zero--the Red Chain plot part two!
Who: Cyrus, Arceus, and whoever else wants to be involved
What: Cyrus's attempts to become a god, take 2.5. A followup to the previous thread, seperated for easier reference on Pix's suggestion.
Where: Dorms and outside
When: November 12th, early morning
Warnings:Dickitude of divine proportions Potentially the end of the world as you know it
The Red Chain burned in his hands, though there was no heat, no fire. Such irrationalities would be a thing of the forgotten past, Cyrus knew as he raised his hands to release the chain, to pull Arceus, the Original One, into its snare.
All things would end. All things would begin.

Step five--Suffering
Already, Cyrus could feel the power that had escaped him before. The power of the gods.
He would be a deity. He knew it for certain.
[Open to anyone]
It's mouth opened and a wail could be heard on all the campus, the pain in her voice very, very evident.
Re: [Open to anyone]
"Give me your power, Original One," he whispered, voice almost unheard under the scream. "The power to create a new universe...! This world cannot be shaped into the ideal world I seek!"
It was beginning to flow.

"Yes!" Cyrus exclaimed as the elemental plates swung around him in the air. "The new world will begin on this very spot!"

Step six--Strife
"Foolish being...you have brought this on yourself," he told it as he reached for Crobat's pokéball. He didn't have to win the pokémon battle, but he had to prolong it long enough to begin the Red Chain procedure over.
Hopefully Confusion would distract Arceus long enough for him to grab the artifact again.
Step seven--Emotion
Others who would never understand what he worked for. Others who could never comprehend the importance of salvation.
Others who had no place in the new, perfect world.
Cyrus glared at them, at those whose emotions overrode their logic, whose pathetic hearts had cost them their very existences.
He would get rid of any obstacles.
((any Other Fight threads go here!))
Re: Step seven--Emotion
"Cyrus!" It wasn't a friendly call out, though she had little grip on what was happening.
Re: Step seven--Emotion
But she had taken an interest in his words before. Perhaps there was hope for her yet, although he doubted it.
"Do you see it?" he asked calmly. "The dimensions distorting...the world beginning to break apart. That perfect world will be created on this spot!"
Re: Step seven--Emotion
"This is what you want? This is the new world you've been talking about?"
Re: Step seven--Emotion
"This will be my perfect world," he told her. "Cammy..." Perhaps the final time he or anyone would ever speak that name. "You have seen the horrors of this world. You have witnessed the terror that hatred and greed bring. I will put an end to all that! I will rid the world of all that is not needed! I will purify it and create all things anew. Join me."
He didn't expect her to join him, but if she did, he would not turn her away.
Of course, she would die here anyway. But she would at least be reborn.

"Shit. do you think it's...?" He finally asked his trainer, sudden dread filling him.

He looked silently for a few moments, registering what had happened before. This wasn't new to him, he had seen it as close as he could, but not this close.
It was happening again. He thought of it... again and again...
Dawn wasn't here.
But, he knew. He was stronger than he was when it had happened the first time. She might have done it the first time, but Lucas had a great team and he knew how to use them. It's not like he was going to sit in the side-lines and watch. They were going to have to do this on their own without her or the Professor. They were going to do whatever they could, anyways. "We've got to stop him."
no subject
Whatever happens next, he's gonna give it all. Because damn, if there was anything to make him prove to himself he still has worth to Lucas, then it was to help him stop the madman from recreating a possible disaster.

He felt almost grateful that Lucas had shown himself. One of them would see how very useless it was to fight against the ultimate fate.
Re: Step seven--Emotion
Mac was in awe, and was very confused.
But when he saw Cyrus...he glared.
Re: Step seven--Emotion
His natural inclination was to smirk, to bare his teeth in a wicked grin, but no! No, that would be a betrayal of emotion, and those were nearing the end of their tyranny. Instead he simply glared back.
Re: Step seven--Emotion
"Well boy... not much point in trying to get any rest now." he whispered, walking over to ruffle the crested beast's feathers. "Let's get our Train On."
He grabbed a gatorade from the fridge, threw it into his gym bag, slipped on his weighted shoes and gloves, and started out of the dorm, Harley scuttling not far behind. They always took a run in the mornings - usually just a little later. Well, Knuckles ran, Harley flew overhead.
It wasn't until he'd hit the forest out back that he heard Bob's scream. It stopped him cold in his tracks - He knew that voice. He'd teamed up with Bob before, once to rescue Nancy, once to rescue Vashta.... But that call wasn't something he'd heard from her before. Was it really pain he heard in her cry? Or something else? He couldn't even be sure from which direction it came to be honest being it was so loud and echoed so strangely. However, it was his duty as her friend to find out exactly what was going on. He changed tack and started to sprint back towards the school.
As he ran, he saw lights. The sky started to change colors, looking like oil spreading on water. This wasn't like the Aurora they'd seen though - this was something different. It felt wrong somehow. His immediate thoughts were for Bob's wellbeing - if something was wrong for her, could it affect the whole world? She WAS God, after all.
In the back of his mind however, a small voice became ever more insistent. The Machine Cyrus had said was going to change the world for the better - was it something more than that? Lots of people said their inventions were going to make the world a better place. Bring smiles to people. He'd assumed it was some generic sentiment like that.... but could it have been....
He burst into the Professor's dorm without warning. "HEY! HEY Did you see...."
Empty.
He stopped and looked around, venturing all the way in before running back out. He had to find the source of those lights and fast!
Climbing the wall of the teacher's dorms, he started to run again once making the roof - it looked like something HUGE was going on not far away. As he ran, he saw the world... blink. And shiver and twist. His very footing became unsure for a second as he ran. The longer he took getting there, the more the world seemed to change, like paint swirled on a canvas by brushes unseen. But he saw Harley, braving that topsy turvy sky to keep an eye on him. And eventually, he saw Cyrus and several others.
He leapt from the roof, gliding down to land not far from the blue haired man, and when he spoke, his voice wasn't angry. Just confused.
"Hey... did you KNOW about this??"
Re: Step seven--Emotion
"I did. This is how I will change the world; by creating an entirely new one." He smiled, but there was no mirth in it. It was terrifyingly empty. "The world as it is now cannot be saved. But I will save that little which remains."
Re: Step seven--Emotion
No. That wasn't true at all. He'd made it his business to save the world from many a grim fate.
"Whatever's going on is tearing EVERYTHING apart - how do you think a new world can come from this? If the world keeps changing and warping this way, people are going to DIE!"
Sure. It was an obvious statement - nothing too deep or intellectual about it. It was as honest as honest got. He would be surprised if things hadn't already progressed to that point. He looked a little frantic, now. Upset - but still not angry. He knew Cyrus hated violence and strife - surely he'd want to stop this before anyone got hurt. Right?

Step eight--Illusion
"This...is not the end..." Cyrus murmured, swaying in the faint breeze and staring out at the world beyond the yard. "I built two, I will build three. However many are necessary! I will devote my life to--"
His hands were shaking.
He was shaking.
He was falling.
He was on his knees.
He was defeated.
"...has it all been for nothing...?" he whispered to no one, not even himself.
It was all an illusion. The world rejected salvation and had damned itself.
"No, it can't be!" He rose suddenly, pushing the limits of a human body at its speed. "I refuse to be defeated! This is not the end. I will return to the beginning and do so for all..."
Fists clenched. Sharp eyes narrowed. "...none of you. None of you will be permitted to see that perfect new creation. You have sullied this world with your violence and ignorance... So I ask you..."
It was the same thing he had asked before. The same words spoken to that trainer what seemed like an eternity ago. "...what is truly the ultimate to you? What do you consider perfection...?"
He could ask no more, his thoughts racing too quickly to manage it.
Step nine--Destruction
He had seen what Cyrus had done to the Distortion World, and now he was beginning to experience what Cyrus had done to Earth, and everyone involved. He had tried to control the gods, something that one should never do. To control anyone against their will, not just the gods, was an unthinkable thing to do. This was only one of the few forbidden things that Cyrus had dared to do that day.
In Giratina's mind, this was not something that could go unpunished. Of course, death was not great enough compared to what Cyrus had done. Although, to be trapped forever in the Distortion World, a world devoid of any other life. The same punishment which had been brought upon Giratina himself by Arceus.
If Cyrus wanted a world which had not been ruined by the touch of humans, he would certainly enjoy his prison.
Re: Step nine--Destruction
"...I will not accept any interference," Cyrus growled at the dark god though his heart still raced from the events of the day. "Do you believe you will stop me? Will you strike me down where I stand? Pokémon of shadow, reveal yourself before me!"
He was still unsteady, still overexerted and trembling from emotion, but he stood his ground.
"Come at me if you dare to stand in my way! I will knock you aside!"
Re: Step nine--Destruction
Instead, he bent his neck downwards, until his face was mere inches from Cryus's, the light reflecting off of the gold plates contrasting with the surrounding shadows. He stayed like this, waiting for Cyrus to go through with his threats. What could he possibly do to drive away a being which possessed the powers of a god?
Re: Step nine--Destruction
"Have you come to disrupt me? I will not be bullied about. What I seek is the creation of a new world, one free of such petty, unnecessary things as your violence, Renegade." He stared at it with pure malice, waiting for any sign of action from it.
