Kicking a Boxer when he's down
Who: Mac and YOU
What: Mac is very, very much in bad shape in the hospital. Are you there to see him?
Where: Some hospital room in Intensive Care...which will move to a better hospital room eventually.
When: November 30 - December 10th
Warnings: Bawwwwwww
"He almost had Hypovolemic Shock," that's what the doctor would have said if your character walked in the moment they saw the news.
"He lost a scary amount of blood."
When they took him in, Mac was breathing heavily and his blood pressure was low. But. He was lucky. The murderer didn't hit any organs. But he made up for that by draining a large amount of blood out of Mac. Which would have shut down his organs. What would have made it worse, is that in ICU, Mac could not have been seen that whole day. He was in surgery, tests were taken, all that scary stuff went on through most of the day.
Finally, evening. Mac was stable. If your character was still around, the doctor came out to say more.
"He's a very lucky boy. We closed up all his wounds and he's getting blood transfused. He's still not well and we're going to have to watch him for a while but he should make a full recovery. He will be healthy in no time. You can visit him tomorrow."
But recovery has it's stages. And with the murderer still out there...well...Just talk to Mac about how he's feeling.
[Put a date when your character was there (if they were someone who visited everyday, obviously note that on one thread but don't do 10 threads obviously, that would be kinda crazy lmao). Also, as the days go by, Mac's condition does get better (I'd say...starting around the 5th). Just noting that in case your dude wanted to pry info out of a defeated Mac on the murderer.]

Re: He visited on the first day and has checked back till Mac can reasonably see a few people each d
"When I came to, I told 'em if anyone asked about me, they should tell 'em..."
Mac looked like he grew uncomfortable as he said that.
"I'm used to hospitals, Knux. Doctors told me the same thing. I...apparently was in somethin' serious and they were freaked out at first. I'm just lucky...that's what they told me."
He hated that word when it came to his own health. Like he was lucky he didn't die in that car accident.
"I need to take it easy for the longest I've ever had to, but they are really sayin' I'm gonna be on my feet and back to my old self. I'm a pretty healthy guy usually, Knux."
Pause.
"So you don't gotta worry no more, okay?"
Re: He visited on the first day and has checked back till Mac can reasonably see a few people each d
"I know you're a strong guy, and keepin' still to recover is gonna be hard on you." Knuckles replied with a sigh. "I'll visit you whenever I can. And I know you don't want me to worry, but hell - if it was me layed up like this, I know you would. It can't be helped."
He leaned back on the chair, slipping his hands behind his head. "....you say 'apparently you were in something serious'. I'm guessin' that means you don't remember much of anything...?"
Re: He visited on the first day and has checked back till Mac can reasonably see a few people each d
"..."
He was quiet for a brief moment. Saying stuff like that was easier than it was to do. Mac knew that. And Knuckles was speaking the truth. He'd been there for Pit so very worried when he was hurt last year. Oh god, and it really was a year since that happened, coincidence?
"I remember tiny bits, but...I guess it ain't much."
He looked at his hands, he had images in his memory but he didn't like thinking about it. He had to thought, because anything, ANYTHING that could help...Mac would do it.
Re: He visited on the first day and has checked back till Mac can reasonably see a few people each d
He did his best to keep his tone level. He didn't want to let himself get angry again - he'd spent enough time angry and frustrated over this by himself and Mac didn't need that right now.
"...oh.. uhh... though... if you need more time... I get that."
Re: He visited on the first day and has checked back till Mac can reasonably see a few people each d
"...I don't remember his face...I didn't know who he was."
He took a breath, this was hard for him to do.
"I was mindin' my own business and then he came to attack me outta no where. I really can't...remember what he looked at. I..."
Hn. This was just really hard to talk about.
"I didn't know what to do except fight 'im off, he was covered in blood and he didn't say one word. Not a sound. He just flung his sword around like a crazy person, but he knew what he was doin'. He really knew how to use that sword and I guess...I guess I wasn't strong enough so..."
He stopped himself there. You get the picture about what happened next.
Re: He visited on the first day and has checked back till Mac can reasonably see a few people each d
So. It's a guy. Uses a sword. Bloody features.... means he's not afraid to get messy with his kills. Probably the blood of that waiter. Quiet - noiseless... a Ninja, maybe? Some kind of hired assasin? No. Who would hire someone to kill a waiter? Makes no sense. For Mac not to remmeber features, he must have moved fast though, so, definitely some kind of special training or maybe a face covering....?
"C'mon now. Ease up on yourself man.... guy attacks you with a sword and you've just got your fists? You did just great. You survived.... That's better than most would have done."
Re: He visited on the first day and has checked back till Mac can reasonably see a few people each d
Oh wait, Knuckles was trying to make him feel better.
"...Sorry I ain't much help," Mac then said.
Re: He visited on the first day and has checked back till Mac can reasonably see a few people each d
He stopped and took a deep breath.
"....I don't mean to bombard ya like this.... but I wanna get this punk. I gotta stop him from hurting anyone else."
Re: He visited on the first day and has checked back till Mac can reasonably see a few people each d
"I know. I want that more than anythin' else."
Frown.
"I just wish I could be in the field with you like all the other times...I wanna show that sicko a what for before he gets to someone else...I hate bein' here when he's out there, Knux..."
He sighed. He HAD to recall something else, it was all he could do now.
"I don't remember much else about the guy's face, I was really focused on that sword he had and the blood on 'im...He wasn't some huge guy either though, I honestly don't think it was anyone I knew."
Well and he was taller than Mac, that was a given.
Re: He visited on the first day and has checked back till Mac can reasonably see a few people each d
"Hey, I know you wanna be out there kickin' ass and taking names. I know. But what you really need to concentrate on is getting better and healin' up. I know that kills you man... I know. But trust me when I tell you... I get this guy? I find him? I'm gonna give him the thrashing of his life for you.... not quite as satisfying as doing it yourself I know. But it's all I got to offer you."
And it really was... Knuckles could tell this was harder on Mac than he even wanted to let on. He understood. Having your hands figuratively tied when your attacker was out there, revelling in his victory? It must be frustraing enough to be almost painful.
"In the meantime... is there anything I can bring you? Make bein' in here any easier? Books or... I dunno. Some of your stuff from your dorm? Any food you especially want?"
Re: He visited on the first day and has checked back till Mac can reasonably see a few people each d
"I trust you, man. I'd trust you can throttle the guy into next week."
He laid back down. He'd feel bad for asking, but he could hardly move as it is. And he was right again, he was gonna be stuck here for a while yet. When he wasn't sleeping, he did get bored.
"...Think it could be too much trouble to ask for some boxin' magazines from my dorm?"
Re: He visited on the first day and has checked back till Mac can reasonably see a few people each d
He gave Mac's shoulder the gentlest of gentle claps. "Nah, man. No trouble at all. I'll bring a bunch of them. I'll bring some protein bars and gatorades and stuff too. Give you a little variety, y'know?"
Re: He visited on the first day and has checked back till Mac can reasonably see a few people each d
That actually made Mac laugh for real a little bit.
"...You're the best, Knux. Thanks."
Re: He visited on the first day and has checked back till Mac can reasonably see a few people each d
"It's all good, man. Least I can do. Want me to let folks on the network know you're up to visitors now? Or would you prefer to keep that low-key?"
Re: He visited on the first day and has checked back till Mac can reasonably see a few people each d
"You can let people know, I'm sure some guys are freaked out about this guy now. I wanna be able to tell those guys what I know and see what people can get from it."
Re: He visited on the first day and has checked back till Mac can reasonably see a few people each d
He wasn't sure how bad Mac's hands were hurt, or he would have held out a fist for a bump. Heck, if he didn't know he was hurt so bad, he'd probably just throw manliness to the winds and go in for a hug.
Re: He visited on the first day and has checked back till Mac can reasonably see a few people each d
"I figured that woulda happened one way or another, its cool."
Especially with the cops.
