Kicking a Boxer when he's down
Who: Mac and YOU
What: Mac is very, very much in bad shape in the hospital. Are you there to see him?
Where: Some hospital room in Intensive Care...which will move to a better hospital room eventually.
When: November 30 - December 10th
Warnings: Bawwwwwww
"He almost had Hypovolemic Shock," that's what the doctor would have said if your character walked in the moment they saw the news.
"He lost a scary amount of blood."
When they took him in, Mac was breathing heavily and his blood pressure was low. But. He was lucky. The murderer didn't hit any organs. But he made up for that by draining a large amount of blood out of Mac. Which would have shut down his organs. What would have made it worse, is that in ICU, Mac could not have been seen that whole day. He was in surgery, tests were taken, all that scary stuff went on through most of the day.
Finally, evening. Mac was stable. If your character was still around, the doctor came out to say more.
"He's a very lucky boy. We closed up all his wounds and he's getting blood transfused. He's still not well and we're going to have to watch him for a while but he should make a full recovery. He will be healthy in no time. You can visit him tomorrow."
But recovery has it's stages. And with the murderer still out there...well...Just talk to Mac about how he's feeling.
[Put a date when your character was there (if they were someone who visited everyday, obviously note that on one thread but don't do 10 threads obviously, that would be kinda crazy lmao). Also, as the days go by, Mac's condition does get better (I'd say...starting around the 5th). Just noting that in case your dude wanted to pry info out of a defeated Mac on the murderer.]

Re: EVERYDAY (well, most days from November 30 onwards)
But what to say, he didn't know what to say. So he's just going to try and smile. Lucario and Bonsly gave a small wave though.
Re: EVERYDAY (well, most days from November 30 onwards)
His smile faded but he was still awake...
"...Were ya here...long?"
Re: EVERYDAY (well, most days from November 30 onwards)
"I don't really get a sense of time here. Ten minutes or ten hours or ten days, it doesn't really matter."
It was his way of saying that he'd be here no matter what. He'd stand guard when Mac was vulnerable. And it stood to reason that he felt this way, Riley could feel that strong sense of despair from Mac even without the need to use his aura abilities. He could tell that he didn't like being a victim, he didn't like being powerless and most of all, he didn't like this situation. And so, the thoughts continued to construct themselves in his head.
Re: EVERYDAY (well, most days from November 30 onwards)
The confusion from being in pain, fatigued, and drugged hadn't worn off yet. His fogginess was on and off, but they had the drug packet being infused into him as they were speaking. So there's that.
Then Riley could maybe totally tell Mac was using a positive facade. Mac, overall, wasn't sure how to express all of the emotions he had. That would come in due time. He'd handled tragedy before, and he will do it again.
But this is going to be the hardest he'd faced. Ever. This was the second worst thing to ever happen to him in his entire life. And he hated seeing his friends worry about him. So much.
Re: EVERYDAY (well, most days from November 30 onwards)
The baby Pokemon was pretending to be a flower, amongst all the other flowers that Mac received. He adjusted his hat. Man he was terrible at being social or talking, he just wanted to do stuff. One, make sure Mac was okay. Two, kick the arse of whoever it was that did this to him.
"You don't have to pretend with me, alright? It's better to let all of those emotions out rather than bottling them in." said Riley after a long moment.
Re: EVERYDAY (well, most days from November 30 onwards)
"...Oh."
Oh god, he was going to have to be here for a long time, this was the worst thing ever. Being honest about all these feelings though was so hard for Mac. Being weak was not in his character. But here he was on this hospital bed.
"I hate...all of this..."
Re: EVERYDAY (well, most days from November 30 onwards)
Riley looked to the window. He walked towards it and opened it to let some of the light from the street below come in.
"As you should. Nobody wants to feel downed like this."
He continued to look out, but the street was empty. What was he expecting to find? To be honest, Riley wasn't sure. There was solace somewhere in the emptiness below the window.
"But I don't want you to play the hero and think that it's a burden that you alone should carry. There are people who care about you and you would do them a disservice if you simply think that it's a burden for us to want to take concern for you."
Re: EVERYDAY (well, most days from November 30 onwards)
"...I'm just...feelin' real guilty about it...you guys are good guys...I hate havin' people...worry about me..."
Re: EVERYDAY (well, most days from November 30 onwards)
"You're a good guy as well. If you weren't a good guy, nobody would care."
Now he walked to the edge of the bed to look at the beeping monitor. Lucario and Bonsly's attention turned to the monitor to mimic their trainer's.
"You're alive, let's be grateful for that first and foremost. I'm more than grateful that this is the case." Riley's expression hardens. "When I saw it on the news, I wanted to run out and flay this bastard to an inch of his life. I admit, it was rash thinking but I could not stand it as much as you stand being incapacitated."
Re: EVERYDAY (well, most days from November 30 onwards)
"I can't stand it...either...That sicko runnin' around...Who knows what's he's thinkin'..."
Re: EVERYDAY (well, most days from November 30 onwards)
Riley walked back to the chair and sat on it. Bonsly toddled up to his trainer and jumped on his lap.
"I will not stand for you getting hurt again. I will keep you to that bed if I must."
Re: EVERYDAY (well, most days from November 30 onwards)
"...You make a good argument...haha..."
But. He can. Take care of himself. He doesn't want people to believe he can't right now.
"...I wouldn't...let that happen anyway...Gettin' hurt this bad..."
