Blind Dates C Tables

What: BLIND DATES!
Who: Anyone who was sent a note with C table numbers.
Where: Off-campus restaurant. AND BEYOND!
When: September 30th
Warnings: Who knows depending who is here.

[The third group's restaurant is a rotating fancy restaurant, the tallest in all of FDC! The place is high up in the air, and you can see all of the city from above! It slowly moves around itself so you can see the city from 360 degrees. The menu has all sorts of things. Still expensive, however, but you've been given a 100$ budget for eating each!

The lighting is dim, with flickering, oil candles on every table. The place is decorated in stylish black and browns, with reddish lanterns hanged on top. The overhead
music is half traditional Italian love songs, half that band you don't remember the name of and sometimes a little song sneaks in. Your servers are all dressed up for the occasion, and speak broken English and talk-like-a-dis despite the menu not being 100% Italian.

Beside each candle, there's a card. Each card has a different letter-number combination.

Find your table!

OH YEAH AND FEEL FREE TO LEAVE THE RESTAURANT AND GO ANYWHERE ELSE!.

..well once you've actually talked with your date anyway. If you try to leave before that, they will try to stop you.]

She was really taking this date thing seriously. Caim hadn't known what to expect when he'd received his notice in the mail. And actually, the man had never been on a date in his life. So lo and behold, twenty-five years down the line, he had not predicted he would be sitting at a fancy table in a fancy restaurant with a pretty looking blonde who could beat the hell out of him - or so he thought.

And she seemed like she was enjoying it. Evidently the broad was absolutely crazy. But Caim thought anyone who was enjoying such a mundane activity was a bit lacking in the mental capacity department. Whatever floated her boat, he supposed. After all, who was he, really, to complain?

"Approximately one month," was his rather succinct reply. "Although it feels as though it has been less time."

He shook his head slowly, as if in disbelief. He still felt like just the day prior he had dropped out of that portal and into the hallway of dancing people. It was still a frightening notion. The only real difference was that he was ten times more well-groomed in EVA's company than he had been when Riley had found him.

And why wouldn't she enjoy it? EVA was the kind of woman who didn't like the idea of being alone for too long. And she'd been alone for quite some time, now. Just a casual date was like a breath of fresh air for her.

She only nodded at first.

"I know that feeling," she replied. "Are you ... enjoying your time here?"

And though Caim wasn't the sort who was interested in dates, he had to admit that EVA was quite a bit intriguing. Beautiful, if he had to admit it. Intimidating, still. And... interesting. He certainly didn't seem to hate her, anyway.

But hate seemed perfectly a waste of time with how things happened in the academy. Well, not a waste of time, but a waste of his effort. He sighed inaudibly and looked away from her momentarily.

Enjoying his time. He didn't enjoy much of anything. Couldn't. Wouldn't allow himself to. He wasn't deserving of it. He had failed. He was a coward. He didn't have Angelus with him. The only thing he was deserving of was the ridiculous sulking fits he got himself into.

"Something like that," was his noncommittal answer. "Are you?"

A bittersweet smile played on her face as she considered the question. She'd left twice now, but she'd come back each time. Something had to keep bringing her back, otherwise she would have gotten on her bike and left the school behind a long time ago.

"Something like that," she replied, finally.

Strangely enough as he heard her, he cracked the smallest hint of a smile. Undoubtedly a woman of her observance would have had no trouble noticing it either, even for as vague as it was.

"I did say I wouldn't be the most spectacular of company."

Because he knew very well how dull and boring he could be. And was. Yeaaaah. He was pretty dull.

Caim's smile certainly didn't go unnoticed. Actually, EVA has noticed it right away. She didn't comment on it, though; she figured he probably wouldn't appreciate that.

"You're fine," she assured him. "You're serious. But... I like serious."

EVA didn't find the man to be dull at all. On the contrary, she was very interested in learning more about him.

"You're serious. But... I like serious."

What... was that? Was she... coming onto him? To be perfectly fair, Caim was completely unaccustomed to anyone showing any kind of interest in him for something other than his title. But he'd kept his nobility a well-guarded secret. Mostly because it seemed utterly pointless to bring it up. So the academy had some princes and princesses from what he'd heard. What difference did that even make?

They were all going to die eventually. Being royalty did not save you from death. As Furiae had so aptly proven. And she was more than royalty. She was a goddess. The Goddess.

When he realised he'd been staring at her for a good period of time, his expression returned to it's neutral one. "You like serious. A bit of an odd one, aren't you." And it was more an observation than a question.
