Did someone order a DORM LOG??

Who: You, you, you, and you
What: Dorm hijinks and etc. Whatever you want.
Where: Student and Teacher dorms, and quite possibly beyond. Whatever happens happens, bro!
When: September 9 - September 25
Warnings: I wrote 'hijinks'. That should explain everything.

Ripped off the last one and all its friends: Basically, here's what's goin down. We all know our characters experience downtime after classes and their busy schedules, and this is a good venue for those kinds of miscellaneous dorm-shenanigans to take place. Not only does it give your characters the easy chance to meet new people in a laid-back environment but it's a good mechanism for strengthening CR. It's easy!

Feel free to begin in any way you please! Plan with (a) fellow player(s) if you'd like! Or, set up a thread and wait for characters to bite! Anything and everything is possible. Break out the board games for a late night full of laughter, losing, cheating and bonding! Swipe the janitor's keys and gain access to all the impassable places your wildest dreams could only reach! Tiptoe quietly to the kitchen downstairs and make a midnight snack with all your friends! Drive all your neighbors to madness with your ceaseless My Little Ponyta marathons! Get in fisticuffs with your best worst lifelong rival on the rooftops at 4! It can all be yours if you make a thread. So have at it! Don't let this log get away untagged.

Nabooru cocked an eyebrow as she watched Knuckles. In fact, she'd been watching him for at least a solid ten minutes. He'd take a bite of the apple he had in one hand and was lifting a dumbbell in the other. Somehow, she didn't think that made any sense at all.

"Doesn't that sort of... nullify the effort? You're eating while you're working out?" she asked finally, unable to hide the smile creeping over her features.

"No way." Knuckles replied. "I don't work out to lose weight, Nabooru. I work out to gain muscle - I figure, eating the fruit then working off the calories just leaves me with the nutritious stuff. Plus, I've got a lot of reps to get done today, so, I can't really take time off to eat. I've been slacking - gotta catch up."

"I still think you should probably work out for half an hour, then eat, then work out some more, and eat again. Not meals, mind you - though back in the desert we ate a hell of a lot - and just repeat the cycle."

She blinked as she thought about it. The Gerudo really did eat a lot. She hadn't been excluded from that. Nabooru liked eating and when she'd first arrived, she easily could have eaten Ganondorf out of house and home if he'd let her. And if he'd had less than what she defined as a never-ending amount of money.

Knuckles ate a lot too for his size. He had a very fast metabolism, after all. He had to have one, to do the things he did. He couldn't out-eat Max of course, but most people still had trouble beleiving how much fresh fruits and vegetables he could cram into his spiky-toothed little face.

"I lose too much time that way." Knuckles replied, deftly tossing the apple core into his waste basket before single handedly peeling a banana with the help of his teeth. "This way, I can do both at once and save time to try and do more stuff later on in the day. It's important to be efficient."

She blinked as she watched him. Sometimes Knuckles could be so... barbaric. It was entertaining to say the least, but Nabooru found herself wondering how Goombella handled it - or if she managed to handle it at all.

"You say it's efficient. I say you just look sort of silly," she laughed. Then she folded her arms over her chest and shook her head. "How long have you been doing this? How long are you going to continue doing this?"

She generally handled it by distracting him with her feminine charms and hoping for a less barbaric reaction than this poor, poor banana was getting for purveying it's bananaey charms.

"Silly? Huh. I.. didn't realize it looked silly. And I've been doing this fooorrrr..." he check his wristwatch "The last hour and thirteen minutes. The first hour was working on my left arm, this next hour is going to be for the right, and I'm going to have done eating by then before it's time to get the bigger weights and work on both arms and my lower back and abs. So, another hour and forty seven minutes. Probably forty six by now. Give or take."

He frowned just a little. "....sorry if you're bored?"

Nabooru shook her head quickly as she eyed him. "Nope. Not bored at all. You're keeping me sane, so you can do whatever you want as long as I'm not distracting you, or keeping you from something."

She smiled and rubbed at her cheek gently, "It sounds like you've been doing this for a while. I wonder, do you do this often? Is this what you're doing every day when you're not with Goombella or in my class?"

"Nope, not keeping me from anything. So long as you're not bored watching me do this n chatting, I'm all yours for the next hour and forty five minutes."

He just kept lifting, this time turning his free hand toward a nice looking peach.

"Well, if I'm not with her, or you, or any other friend, then I'm doing either this, or I'm in the weight room doing serious lifting with Max. Or I'm running around the track or the forest and mountains out back. Or I'm practise sparring in the Gym with the sandbag. I have a pretty intensive training regimen normally... since the vacation it slipped just a little so I have some ground to make up. I was training only maybe two, three hours a day so... yeah. Lazy days of summer that can't go on forever."

Nabooru nodded slowly as she folded her arms over her chest. "Some people like stealing, some people like hunting for treasure, some people like training. Man, everyone here is a little more than strange. But at least everyone is different."

She could just see how boring the word would be if everyone were the same. As she watched him, she reached for one of his apples and took a bite. "Technically you're all supposed to have classes right now anyway. You should have gone on with your training the moment classes started again. So what kept you?"

"Different things kept coming up. You know... Just little things here and there and then you realize 'Woah, OK, there goes a whole day.'. I'm sure you've had days like that too."

He rolled the peach pit around in his moputh for a moment, making sure to get all of the sweet flesh from it, before he tossed it into the waste basket with a decidedly metal sounding THUNK.

"...starting to think they should make a basketball team here at school too. So long as the hoop is less than a foot off the ground, I'm gonna be tackin' up ten pointers like nobodies business."

She nodded in agreement, "Sometimes it is like that." Then she moved to lean against the closest object to her. Well, closest sturdy object.

"A basketball team...?" Nabooru tipped her head thoughtfully. Too bad Edward Falcon was a football leader and not a basketball one. She didn't know anything about those kinds of sports either. "I can see if anyone would be interested... If I do the initial stuff, you think you can lead it on your own?"

"Oh, gosh no. I was kidding." Knuckles replied with a laugh. "Basketball is for TALL dudes. Even as a human I'm on the average height side of things. Besides... I'm doing Football again this year and I've been going to the Soccer club meetings. I like those because they're good cardio... but another sport would cut into my lifting time too much."

"Oh."

Nabooru blinked and she leaned over to get a better look at him. "Oh, so you're into the whole football thing. And soccer. Hm, hm, hm. Where do you find the time to do all of these things and still get intimate with Goombella?"

She shook her head and smiled, "I always thought I was good at juggling things. You've got me beat. Colour me jealous."

He frowned just a little.

"....well. We still find time, of course. Not as much as we used to when we first started dating but she understands, I'm sure. There's always so much going on and there's only twenty four hours in a day n I gotta spend at least a few of those sleeping."

"Most relationships are like that. Not saying you two are missing any spice in your life, but after a while, it just doesn't become so immensely important. I think it's less the physically intimate times that are so necessary, but rather the emotionally intimate ones."

When she realised how soft it sounded coming from her, she scowled affectionately, "Not that I know anything about that. I'm speaking from a purely theoretical standpoint. All the same, it's good to see the two of you together."

"....wow. That's pretty deep." Knuckles replied. "And we do still spend time together... but if I spend too much time being a boyfriend, I miss out on doing all these other things that need to get done. And she has her own things that she likes to do... her Anime and her books and things. And her other friends, though, I don't... know if she has many."

"Exactly."

Nabooru nodded in agreement. "It's hard to come up with a balance between all the different things. I bet I couldn't handle a boyfriend what with how busy I am. Or maybe I keep myself so busy because I don't have a boyfriend. I'm not sure about that one."

"But you're still not wrong," she reiterated. "I don't know either. She and I hang out together every now and then. I'm trying to put together a book club for her. She wanted one. I figured as an instructor, there's got to be something I can do."

"You kidding? I think Your Boyfriend would have to be a pretty incredible kinda guy to keep up with you." he replied with a smirk, tossing his latest apple core into the trash and leaning over to give her a shot in the arm.

A book club, huh? Hmm... she hadn't mentioned that to him. "Well... if there's anything I can do to help your club... I mean, unless it's just a You and Her thing." He paused. "There once was a book club here, held by that one ho--that one nice Librarian lady. I took my DVD player instruction manual hoping they could help me figure it out. It... well. That's not the kind of book they want you to take. Just so you know."

She shook her head at him and lightly rubbed at her arm. "I seem to pick all the wrong guys, however. I know some pretty incredible ones, but I might be a little too willing. Or as usual, I just piss them off."

Like Byrne. She practically breathed and ticked him off.

"No, no." She quickly protested. "I'm sure help would be appreciated. I'll be bringing it up over the network to see how many people would be interested in one. And I'll be putting her in charge of it, but I'll oversee it just to make sure things keep running smoothly."

"Yeah, well, anyone who gets pissed off at you too easily is bad news. And any guy should thank his lucky stars and frankly, lucky everythin' else if a girl like you is even close to willing to spend time with them. Don't sell yourself short."

He wasn't much for consolation but he was pretty good with pep-talks.

"Well, it might be nice for her to do something with other folks in terms of organising stuff. She likes doing that sort of thing. If I help, ittle probably be in a support role. Shifting things or carrying boxes of books and... stuff."

What went into setting up a book club? He had no idea but surely there was SOMETHING heavy he could carry around.

She blinked and then immediately softened. She could argue it every day and she assumed he was just going to argue right back at her, which wasn't the worst thing that could have happened.

"I'm sure we'll find something for you to do. I'm still trying to hammer out the details, with Goombella, too. After all, it's her club. I'm just trying to set it up for her and get her a base with people who'll have the same interests."

But that still concerned the Gerudo. The school was filled with a grand number of people who either didn't like to read or were too lazy to apply themselves. She personally hoped they weren't going to wind up with two members for this book club that Goombella wanted.

And he WOULD argue it too. Don't think he wouldn't. He was even better at arguing than he was at giving pep talks.

"Well... for a kinda Jock, I have a lot of really smart friends. I'll make sure to point 'em that way once everything is set up." he replied. Voile, Apple Kid, Jeff, Lash, Slippy.... he sure hung out with a lot of Readers.

Nabooru snorted. "A jock." That wasn't the word she would have used to describe him, but all right. She supposed she could accept that for the time being.

"Good. I could use help in that direction. As I said before, I'll bring it up over the network and see what kind of hits I can get for her."

"Why's that funny? Isn't that what it's called? I play a lot of sports and stuff."

Considering he was currently chomping down another banana while lifting weights, he could have sworn it was an accurate term.

"Sounds good! Well, I'm just glad she has you as a friend to help her out with that stuff."

"I just think the word's amusing," Nabooru began before she addressed the rest of what he had to say.

She didn't actually know if it was correct or not, but the amount of time she heard of it in the academy, she had to assume that it was. At least to some degree. Why else would he say it? He wasn't the one with the foreign language under his belt. At least, not that she knew of.

"I just do what I can. Don't give me too much credit. I just want to see her happy. As far as I know, that's what friends do."
