Who: EVA and you.
What: Library log.
Where: ...the library.
When: September 5th to October 3rd, 8AM-5PM. Closed on Sundays.
Warnings: So many books.

[The library is a mega huge, brick building somewhere on campus. 3 floors of SO MANY BOOKS!

• If you would be so kind, please put the date and the time and/or time of day in the subject or an OOC note at the top or bottom of your comment.
Keep in mind your librarian is a super creepy Patriot spy, but she can't be in two places at once; please check the other logs before picking a time/date.

• The library opens at 8 in the morning and closes around 5 in the evening. EVA is in and out throughout the day, but mostly in. The library is closed on Sundays.

• Add an OOC note for solo logs. ALSO! logs between two (or more) characters (not including EVA) in the library is cool/encouraged!

• Prose or action are fine. Whatever you're more comfortable with. Although I am faster with action tags!

• Kindly tag yourself!

I know this is a slightly odd request for an odd and old book but... I've lost my copy of it. I couldn't find any copies on the internet.

[Mei Ling looks off to the side. She gestures for EVA to lead the way to the aforementioned historic non-fiction section.]

If you could show the way, I'd really appreciate it.

[And they're off. EVA begins to lead her to the closest of the spiral staircases.]

And don't worry, I've had odder requests, trust me. [There's a short pause.] Using it for anything in particular?

[Oooh, a spiral staircase. Mei Ling follows EVA through the staircase and up to the next floor. She takes her time to smell the scent of paper and binding as they walked through.]

... I've never read it. I kinda want to now. Just felt the urge to read it for some reason.

Really? It's definitely an interesting read. Not a lot of people ask for it, though...

[EVA clearly knows her way around the labyrinth of a library. Soon enough, they're in the right row. She traces her finger over the exact shelf, and pulls out one of the few copies for Mei Ling.]

Hah... you can blame The Patriots for that.

[Was that a hint of bitterness in her voice? Mei Ling gratefully takes the book from EVA's hands regardless and thanks her with a small bow.]

When would you like this back?

[EVA seems a little taken aback by Mei Ling's openness regarding The Patriots. She simply raises her eyebrows, but doesn't comment.]

We lend books for 2 weeks, but you can always call or come in to extend it.

[There is a moment of silence between them. Mei Ling lets it hang there before she speaks again.]

... You are the same EVA I'm thinking of, aren't you? Operative and the mother of the Snakes.

[Now EVA shows the surprise in her expression. Yes, she'd recognized Mei Ling- The Patriots saw and knew all, after all- but she hadn't expected Mei Ling to recognize her. What surprised her most was how much the other woman knew...]

I don't know what point in time you're from, but it seems to be the case that I'm from somewhere further along the line than you are... where the Patriots are defeated. I guess that's the reason why I can be more open about it.

[She can't help but smile bittersweetly. She appreciated the compliment, but the alternate universes and timelines at the school was something she never handled well. Although hearing that the Patriots were defeated had tied an excited knot in her stomach.]

You aided Snake at Shadow Moses, didn't you? ... Were you involved in the dismantling of the Patriots?

[She's curious to know more, but two questions at a time was one too many. She quieted before asking another.]
