Can't Leave School? No Problem! [Open "Beach" Stadium Log!]

What: Makeshift beach party in the stadium

When: July 2nd and 3rd, ALL DAY
Warnings: Beaches, warm weather, speedoes, bikinis and punch

So she couldn't get out of the school. Pffft! Big fat hairy deal. She was the wunderkind! If Lash couldn't go to a birthday party anywhere, she'd bring the party to her.

Or more exactly, she'd ask Robotnik to dump a ton of sand into the stadium and transform it into a makeshift beach. Watch were you walked however, there were still stuck crabs and seashells strewn around. It wasn't like the thing was sifted before being put here, after all. With the help of a few robots, there were a few pools of various sizes all around the large space along with the normal swimming pool which wasn't too far away. Combined with the nearby sauna and spa it could almost recreate the experience! And the sun was bright and shining today too; the type of weather you'd want to go on the beach for.

A small row of chairs and parasols stood in the middle for those that wanted to just lazy around and do nothing.

And then she used the stadium's battle simulator to do the rest, turning the barren beach land into something more of a true beach. Blink and you might see that the illusion fazed in and out like it always did. Not to mention she was stretching it out, using it like that.

Nancy stood outside next to table, helping the girl set up drinks and snacks. Even the bear was dressed up with an overly comically large pair of sunglasses. The large blocks of dry frozen ice kept the ice cream and frozen sweets at perfect temperature. Lash was already walking around with a vanilla ice cream cone.

Finally, a large DJ table and radio kept the place pumped with music into their ears. Sometimes pretty calming music, other times a gentle ska, before turning into something that got your blood pumping for a little. The place was open up for requests too (we're looking at you, Jake)

When everything was done, she put on her only best swimsuit and shades before sending out a message to everyone.

Neph crawls out of the woodwork

After finding herself and Blaze swimsuits (which might have meant a trip out before the party), the two came over quickly, and found themselves getting there pretty early on. Well, that was okay. It meant more time to settle in before others came and made everything insane. Though Neph was more than a little self-conscious in this swimsuit...

But now, it was time for Neph to try coming out of her shell a little. She walked up to Lash, two small boxes in hand, and smiled, "Happy Birthday, Lash! Thanks for invitin' us, that was right nice of ya."

Azelf is watching you

[Riding on top of a robot is the Being of Willpower himself, though he's not in a celebratory mood. He's too busy looking for someone he will eventually stalk, and that someone happened to be a blue-haired man who Azelf had found out the hard way is the Leader of Team Galactic.

He haven't seen the other since his arrival... and in a way is glad that he didn't. Deep inside, he's terrified of him and isn't sure if he can face Cyrus on his own, not that he would in front of everyone in the makeshift beach. But if Cyrus does show up, the Pixie will let it be known to him and him alone that he's here and will take the other on when the time is right. Cyrus will not get away with this and that, Azelf can say, is a promise.

Until then, he will remain on his 'ride' while it goes from point A to B, because he doesn't plan on leaving anytime soon. That is, until his target is found]

A beach. The stadium turned into a beach. This was amazing. Mac did show up with the works. Swimming trunks, towel, sunglasses. Uh, and sunscreen, too. He just tans all the time anyway. He was so ready.

Before he went into the ocean. He better say "hi" to his buddy. He gave her a birthday present already, but that didn't mean he came with nothing. Under his arm as well was a six-pack of root beer.

A beach party! Despite never having been the best of swimmers, Blacky was (almost) never one to turn down an open invitation to a big social gathering like this! Even though on a day like this is almost definitely meant harsh sunlight. Hmm. She'd just have to bypass it somehow...

At some point during the day a mysterious figure arrived, wrapped almost entirely in a light white sheet with a huge pair of shades hiding her face. Dragging along behind her was a folded up beach umbrella. Bring it on, summer. Blacky was ready.

Ness didn't bother arriving because he was already there. He had been originally planning on having a cook out for the baseball team that totally existed and anyone who wants to be on it can say they are and whoever, and then he had noticed that there was... a lot... of sand... everywhere. HUH. HOW DID THAT GET THERE.

Well he could work with this. Happy Birthday, Lash.

So there was a Ness over there with a 24 prepackaged, perfect burgers fresh from the trash grill flipping some meat products over some fire with a very nervous lunch bear hovering nearby. DARE YOU ASK HIM FOR ONE?

When did Seth sneak in? WHO KNOWS, but he looked incredibly comfortable people-watching, fanning himself and being a general creep. He was lounging on a chair somewhere in the middle of the arena under a parasol, boasting a very gaudy one-peice (http://www.gentlemansemporium.com/store/002393.php) red and white striped swimsuit, complete with boater's hat, big sun-blocker sunglasses and a (neat) gob of suntan lotion down the bridge of his nose.

Can't be too careful about that sort of thing, you know.

Whoosh, there he went. He loved the ocean despite not having the opportunity to go to a beach often. The ocean felt wonderful. He alternated between deeper and shallow waters.

And well, if he's not there, he's also by the snacks.

Jake Takes Requests

Having taken over the DJ table, Jake was now spinning some awesome tunes. And he was open to any requests.

Knuckles had been swimming, eaten some food, and now he was relaxing in the sun adding some of the finishing touches to his Sandopolis ruins scale model. Well... it wasn't an exact replica. It had a moat and what looked to be a couple of dreadlocked sphinxes around the outside.

Most of Blacky's time was being spent in the safety of the shade of her beach umbrella. She almost envied those who were out enjoying themselves in the sun. Maybe she could be persuaded to leave her sanctuary and go for a swim.

Did you really envy them, Blacky? Because suddenly the shade of the umbrella was starting to creep away from her, as if someone was adjusting the umbrella so it would cover more of him. What a jerk. Or an oblivious person. Or more likely, a jerk pretending to be an oblivious person.

"Oh, hello darling." Said Seth, face full of pleasant surprise as he snapped a fold-out chair with the flick of his wrist. He unceremoniously plopped it down next to her, his braid swaying in tune behind his shoulder and then took a seat himself. "I almost didn't see you there. This summer sun is brutal, isn't it?"

Ever since his first year at the Academy, Jeff welcomed the month of July (albeit a day or two late) with a grand display of fireworks. The first time it had been a distraction while he went to steal certain undergarments from Samus. Every other time had been because he decided it would make a fun tradition, and tonight was no different.

As the real sun set over the city and a holographic one was projected over the fake beach's horizon, Jeff let the first few rockets fly. They exploded in colourful bursts over the water, sparks of red and blue drifting down to meet their glittering reflections in the 'sea' below. They looked better than ever.

At one point, Peach may see a pink-haired boy practicing his swimming in his human form at the shallow parts of the ocean. Being as a ball had its plus, but it couldn't hurt to get used to being as a human too! He noticed Peach and gave a smile as he waved his hand in the air.

For the most part, Hawke was not a very vain person. However, he'd been spending the past who-knew-how-long locked up in his room as usual, pouring over crumbly encoded documents. That was boring, and even he would admit he could use some sun.

So instead, he settles with sitting quietly under an umbrella with his Bellsprout sitting next to him.

Pit sees this wimp hiding under an umbrella. It gets his attention because while just about everyone is a familiar face to him, THIS is a face that is familiar, but hasn't been seen it in a good long time. With not a second thought he veers in his direction and walks casually over. It wasn't far to get to.

He raises up a hand in greeting. "Hi! Say, I don't think I've seen you in a long time! How've you been?"

It came to him sudden and sharp, like the nick of a knife: He seemed to have forgotten his NAME.

Sonny liked to swim - his body felt so LIGHT in the water! He was more puddling around than actually swimming, right now. Just treading water in place and moving around a little from here to there. [There was Kirby behind a stand. It had a huge cooler box on the side, which was full of ice cubes, and a machine (http://www1.dealextreme.com/productimages/sku_12792_1.jpg) was on the stand table. There was also a small pile of plastic cups and spoons in the backpack, along with differently colored syrups in bottles. He was sticking the ice cubes in the machine and turned the dial on the top, grinding the ice cubes into tiny flakes as it fell into the cup beneath it.

Riley still doesn't know why a beach suddenly appeared in the stadium. But now he was caught in the middle of this beach and Lash's party. The sun was getting hotter as the day passed and Riley felt it, his face flushed.

He was still dressed in his typical attire of turtleneck, blazer, trousers and hat. Most inappropriate beach wear or what? (At least he took the blazer off and had it folded his arm.)

Then he heard the crunching of the ice. It looked so good.

He just stood there in front of Kirby, debating whether to say something or not.
