Dorm Log!

Who: It's OPEN. (Anyone)
What: Dorm hijinks and etc. Whatever you want.
Where: Student and Teacher dorms, and quite possibly beyond.
When: January 20-31
Warnings: Not even gonna.

Remembuh me? The roomie log turned out to be a success, and a lot of really awesome interactions took place. Because of this, I've decided it was about time to post round two. The name has been changed a little because I think it reflects the premise slightly better.

Basically, here's what this is: we all know our characters experience downtime after classes and their busy schedules, and this is a good portal for those kinds of miscellaneous dorm-shenanigans to take place. Not only does it give your characters the easy chance to meet new people in a laid-back environment but it's a good mechanism for strengthening CR and the like. Some examples can be seen in the link I provided if you fight through the buttload of comments in case I'm sort of unclear.

So how do we start? It's up to you, really. Don't have any plans with anyone else but want your character bugged? Start a thread. It helps to staple dates and times, but you can keep that completely ambiguous if you really don't care/it doesn't matter. So disembark and wreak havoc amongst yourselves! Set up karaoke and sing loudly to further improve relations with dorm neighbors! Jack cylindrical fluorescent light bulbs from the supply closet and fight like Jedi Masters! Build couch forts with other people's laundry! (...ew?) Hold a "study session" with that special someone of yours! Harass teachers and students alike with your inane questions! What bountiful possibilities await you.

The Ivysaur would later make a firm resolve to go apologize for his abrupt departure and thank her for setting things straight.

For now he simply let Vinnie drag him off, dumbly following after him as he committed every thought to simply not being sick all over the greenhouse floor. They didn't make it very far from the doors before Bulba was mumbling meakly at him. "S-stop." Though maybe where volume didn't work, suddenly coming to a halt and planting his feet would work better.

They were outside and he was going to go over there and puke in the snow Vinnie do not attempt to stop him.

The Venusaur wasn't so thick as to miss the nauseous utters of someone about to vomit. He slowed down, letting Bulba hobble off to empty his stomach. There wasn't much else he could do except wait for the nausea to lift. Vinnie had more than enough experiences of that, as of late.

So he wandered off for a moment, allowing Bulba at least some privacy as he regurgitated whatever lunch he'd eaten. When he returned, it was with a running hose from the greenhouse.

The water was moderate dribble, enough to wash out any puddles of sick, and ice cold. Vinnie held the stream in front of Bulba, gesturing with it slightly. "You gonna be all right? Here, you ought'a... rinse the taste from your mouth."

Sorry. No clean cups around, unless you felt like drinking from a plant pot.

Luckily there wasn't much to bring up before it degenerated into a slightly painful sounding dry heave. That was more than enough of that, thank you.

Bulba was catching his breath when Vinnie came back with the hose. He took a look at the hose and flicked his eyes up to Vinnie's for just a second. This was really embarrassing. But he nodded even as his face grew hotter, reaching out to take a swig of the water. It was a lot colder than he anticipated and he shivered as he gave it a good swish around. Blech. He turned and spat it behind him. Much better.

Now that the deed was done, Bulba awkwardly wiped his mouth on the back of his hand. He couldn't quite look Vinnie in the face at the moment. "... Thanks."

Vinnie muttered an awkward, "Uhh, no problem," before he ambled away again to return the hose to its proper place and turn off the tap.

Everything was okay. Magic words. Vinnie was gradually letting it sink in - it felt like he could breathe again, finally. Maybe it was a selfish little moment of celebration, but he honestly didn't expect anything to come of this, other than embarrassing himself (and he had delivered on that front too).

The fact that Bulba had actually worried himself sick still hung on his head, but Vinnie's mood was lifting enough that it didn't seem like such an impossible feat to face him anymore.

Once he was done rolling up the hose, the Venusaur rejoined the other Seed Pokemon - still concerned for him, but already looking much brighter. "You feel better?"

He gave another small nod. "I'm fine," he told him. Now that everything had been cleared up, he really was. Better was perhaps too lenient of a word for it. Now he was able to enjoy the feeling of relief for what it was, and it was very nice. It didn't really change his awkwardness at the moment, but he could live with that.

He'd done something that was good. At least something was going right this week. It was all he could really ask for.

...That and something warm. What he couldn't live with was the cold, and they hadn't exactly taken the time to dress up for traipsing outside in the dark, chilly hours of evening. Bulba huddled his arms around his chest. "Can we go inside somewhere?" Either back behind them or forward to the school, it didn't really matter as long as it wasn't out in the snow.

"Yeah, that sounds good right now. We should... head back." He didn't want to disturb Erika any more than they had to if she was going to return to her nap. Vinnie zipped up his hoodie as far as it would go in some small effort to keep out the cold, but that in no way was going to help keep his toes from freezing off.

And... he gave Bulba a smile. A small one, and a little strained by self-consciousness, but it was still genuine. Still grateful. The Venusaur may not have had a way with words, but he could still offer that much in thanks.

It was a brisk walk back to the school, but for the first time in a while, Vinnie felt warm inside.
