Dorm Log!

Who: It's OPEN. (Anyone)
What: Dorm hijinks and etc. Whatever you want.
Where: Student and Teacher dorms, and quite possibly beyond.
When: January 20-31
Warnings: Not even gonna.

Remembuh me? The roomie log turned out to be a success, and a lot of really awesome interactions took place. Because of this, I've decided it was about time to post round two. The name has been changed a little because I think it reflects the premise slightly better.

Basically, here's what this is: we all know our characters experience downtime after classes and their busy schedules, and this is a good portal for those kinds of miscellaneous dorm-shenanigans to take place. Not only does it give your characters the easy chance to meet new people in a laid-back environment but it's a good mechanism for strengthening CR and the like. Some examples can be seen in the link I provided if you fight through the buttload of comments in case I'm sort of unclear.

So how do we start? It's up to you, really. Don't have any plans with anyone else but want your character bugged? Start a thread. It helps to staple dates and times, but you can keep that completely ambiguous if you really don't care/it doesn't matter. So disembark and wreak havoc amongst yourselves! Set up karaoke and sing loudly to further improve relations with dorm neighbors! Jack cylindrical fluorescent light bulbs from the supply closet and fight like Jedi Masters! Build couch forts with other people's laundry! (...ew?) Hold a "study session" with that special someone of yours! Harass teachers and students alike with your inane questions! What bountiful possibilities await you.

"Yes." Sorry Pit, but she came from the country of motives behind motives behind motives. "You're asking me because you're trying to find a clone of something. I just don't know what...."

ewwqkrjqwi SORRY

Driven into a corner, probably. He just wanted to keep Falcon's clone problem on the down-low, but at the same time wanted to help him as much as he could- he didn't want to be another useless bystander.

But what should he say next? "Well, of course. Isn't that the reason I'd be asking how to track clones? They're a scary thought, and I can't shake it."

"But whose clone?!"
thewunderkind: (>B|)

Lash just...stared at him.

[identity profile] pitticus.livejournal.com 2011-01-22 08:06 am (UTC)(link)
Pit stared back. Then they made out.

Okay, if he was going to play this game, she was going to play it too.

"Now, who could have clones in the school...."

[identity profile] pitticus.livejournal.com 2011-01-22 08:16 am (UTC)(link)
Pit was incredibly stubborn about this and chose to keep playing the innocent card. He crossed his arms and legs. "You tell me."

She was glad she had watched F-zero races with Ionia then. Also the huge list of tabloids that had popped up in the common rooms lately. It was starting to make sense.

"Well, there's Blood Falcon for one..."

[identity profile] pitticus.livejournal.com 2011-01-22 08:31 am (UTC)(link)
That meant she knew about it, and he could stop pretending.

"Okay, fine. You got me. I'm talking about that clone."

VICTOLY.

"Well it's not like many people here have clones." Pause. "That I know of anyway. It's like they let him race and everything. Why do you want to track him down?"

"Mostly it was just an idea I had," he admitted, uncrossing his arms and setting his palms down on the couch, facing Lash. "Come to think of it, you probably saw it in the news. I thought maybe things would just be a lot easier if there was some way we could sniff him out. He causes the Captain a lot of trouble, you see... I wanted to help."
thewunderkind: (You've got to be kidding me two-eyes!)

[personal profile] thewunderkind 2011-01-22 08:43 am (UTC)(link)
"Dunno, the last time one of his clones came here he just played the guitar and was at the hospital a lot."

Good times.

[identity profile] pitticus.livejournal.com 2011-01-22 08:48 am (UTC)(link)
Put it this way: if Pit could actually pull this off, question marks would be bubbling out all over the place. "Why didn't Captain finish him off while he had the chance? Why would people let him hang around if they know he's nothing but a no-good pesky clone? Hmmmph! That makes no sense!"
thewunderkind: (Movement - Sweatdrop)

[personal profile] thewunderkind 2011-01-22 08:50 am (UTC)(link)
"Uuuuuh have you looked at who you're talking to first before you say that, genius?" Lash gave him a tiny wave. "Helloo! Black Hole ex-member, why is anyone letting me live after all that I've done huh?" She then shrugged.

"This place seems to be pretty neutral ground to be honest. I mean, why doesn't Falcon just off him during a race?"

[identity profile] pitticus.livejournal.com 2011-01-22 08:52 am (UTC)(link)
Pit tried to ignore Lash's first comment because it didn't make him feel good. "Because that would be dishonorable," was his simple response to the last question. "He would never end it like that. He'd do it where it's right when it's right."
thewunderkind: (Laughing - Hilarious)

[personal profile] thewunderkind 2011-01-22 08:56 am (UTC)(link)
"Pffft I dunno if you noticed yet, but the guy's got a pretty bad temper when it comes to people and things he does not like. If he could find a way to kill his clone in that race without anyone else finding out, I bet you he would." But arguing about Falcon would bring them to nothing.

"I just don't...kinda wonder why someone would bother cloning him in the first place."

[identity profile] pitticus.livejournal.com 2011-01-22 09:05 am (UTC)(link)
Pit had an answer for Lash, straight from the horse's mouth. It was also an assumption he'd formulated while speaking with Falcon. "Whoever cloned him hopes that because he's the same as Captain, he'll be just as good at racing. Where he comes from, he's legendary. If you're legendary, wouldn't someone want to recreate that legend so they can have a piece for themself? I'm pretty sure the mastermind behind the whole scheme wants to reap those kinds of rewards. That's why he'd be cloned!"
thewunderkind: (Thinking - Very hard)

[personal profile] thewunderkind 2011-01-22 09:22 am (UTC)(link)
"Yeah but it's just racing and money." She sighed. "Look, when we cloned COs it was for their powers and the ability to control things and fool our enemies. Not to...win a race against him. That's dumb." Pause. "Maybe whoever is doing it is dumb."

She tried to recall her own talk with Falcon so long ago. When they actually talked and he didn't hate her. Needless to say, her feelings about him were all over the place. "Look, coming from my own experience, whoever is cloning him doesn't want his glory. Otherwise they'd be using them as assassins and not putting them out in public to race, you know? Why not just clone EVERYONE and control the entire racetrack?" She looked at Pit to see if he was in the same mindset that she was.

[identity profile] pitticus.livejournal.com 2011-01-22 11:15 pm (UTC)(link)
He was still chewing on her explanation, giving it as much consideration as he could while trying to keep up with every point she made. Some of it didn't make much sense to him, and his eyes fixed on an uninteresting spot on the floor. "All I know is that Blood Falcon is out to replace Captain. Whoever cloned him wants a racer that's just as good, someone who can beat him at the races and then make sure the competition is gone. Maybe the race is very important to him? But you know what, I think I can agree with you: he's probably dumb. Just having an exact copy of someone doesn't mean he'll be just as good. Clone Captain all you want: he'll never be the same."
thewunderkind: (You've got to be kidding me two-eyes!)

[personal profile] thewunderkind 2011-01-23 01:30 am (UTC)(link)
"What I'm trying to say is they probably don't want him for the races, Pit. Otherwise they would have cloned everyone."
thewunderkind: (Movement - Let me kill that for you)

[personal profile] thewunderkind 2011-01-24 12:10 am (UTC)(link)
"Let's take what Black Hole did with cloning," she explained with a sigh. "We didn't just clone one CO. We cloned a lot of them. Andy, Olaf, Hanchi, Fat Colin Drake...and each one was a lot of strain on our energies. But we didn't just clone one, and they died just a few days later. While the idea of cloning just one guy is stupid in itself, the guy...or gal who knows, is way too intelligent to have cloning technology to be that stupid. Not to mention these clones seem to have a much longer life span."

For a mind like Lash's it just didn't add up.

"Logically, if you had that type of technology, you would not just clone one guy. Think about it! Sure Falcon wins the races, but did you ever look at who else races with him? There's a super hero guy called Super Arrow. A guy who is from the future, a ten year old nerd prodigy, some guy with spandex and bull horns, Goroh, a magician circus clown guy, they even have an undead skull guy who was from the first races or something. Do you see what I mean? Not to rain on Falcon's parade, but there are a lot of interesting guys in those races. Why not clone them too?"

"It just...makes no sense. Unless..."

[identity profile] pitticus.livejournal.com 2011-01-24 04:47 am (UTC)(link)
"Unless what?" Pit was on the edge of his seat. He was almost ashamed for knowing next to nothing about the F-Zero races beyond what riding in the cars were like, despite his interest in Falcon. When he slipped back in his room, maybe there was something on the internet he could dig up about it, because he was raring to see what it was like. It must be intense. All the racers Lash listed? He didn't know a single one, sans Goroh, who had taught here but didn't stand out much in his mind beyond general first impressions.
thewunderkind: (Movement - Thinking Slyly)

[personal profile] thewunderkind 2011-01-24 04:49 am (UTC)(link)
"Personal vendetta," she explained. "Someone must really hate him." Pause. "I wonder if it's Goroh? They never race together until the Death Race, you know."
