Drawing Class: Log 03

Who: Raikov and his students/lurkers
What: Drawing Class
Where: The Art room
When: July 7th, afternoon
Warnings: Probably a good amount of facepalming and lawls. Mild gay flirting as well.

"Since you guys have been doing rather well with your mannequin drawings, I figured we'll try a little challenge."

Raikov walked over to his sketch pad, displayed on an easel, and flipped open to a page with a few quick sketches.

"Gesture drawing. I'm going to make a little easier for you though and rather than drawing a live person, you'll continue to use the mannequins. I will pose this large one here..." He gestured to his desk, which had a much larger wooden mannequin on it than the ones he provided for the students, "And you'll have a certain time limit to finish sketching it."

"Get your papers and pencils ready and I will pose the mannequin. I'm giving you 15 seconds to finish each pose. Ready?"

[First Pose || Second, Third, Fourth Pose]

Miller could draw stick figures. Sometimes. That was about it. His artistic talent was more int he musical department.

But it might be fun to drop by and troll the art teacher.

Image How the heck was anyone supposed to draw something in just 15 seconds? She'd sure like to see this stupid hoity-toity teacher do it. His "examples" were probably faked.

Lurking forever...
he's sitting in the front today.
What is this I don't even.

As usual, he's prepared for class.

HEY. HEY RAIKOV.
REMEMBER THAT KID WHO SAID HE WAS NEVER COMING BACK?
WELL HE CAME BACK.

Anshu's sitting quietly with a stack of papers on his desk.

Jeff was there. He snorted at the mannequins. Still using those things? Couldn't this school afford better supplies? Honestly.

Nester had a feeling that he could do this.

He always did have that feeling, though.

Thad was there. His mind's slightly out of there, but his body's in the classroom.

He looked rather not so confident with the assignment, he wasn't there at the first two lessons. Blame his mun.

That were-penguin. He was there.

Minding his own business and twiddling his thumbs.

You say "mannequin", but Skull Kid hears "super cool toy". He was going to make that thing his somehow.

O-oh no, timed drawing... If she had a ruler in hand, it would be much easier, but that would just end up with rectangles and squares, not circles like how the mannequins... But she was going to try her best! After all, that's what the class is supposed to be, right?

She sat in her chair, staring intensely at the piece of paper, gripping onto her pencil hard. She was probably shaking a little.

[Mac had the time free yet again so he went to see how the class was doing. He pokes in once more. Also, he can't draw still. He sits in a free chair quietly keeping an eye on Silver.]

[Mun can't draw so you get a description]

It's obviously hurried, but it's awesome, as always...for 15 seconds apiece, anyhow.

"I must say I am not used to such a hurried exercise. I hope it is decent enough."

lol icon abuse

Silver tried to draw his creepy and morbid art. Really he got some pleasure reveling in the "weakness" of all those offended by it. But it's difficult trying to draw things when only a few days earlier you rammed your fists into walls and equally solid objects. Repeatedly. He got one line down on paper before he just decided to say "screw it" and call it a day.

Anshu tried to draw as quickly as he could, but his motor skills simply weren't up to par.

He knew it wasn't impressive.

15 seconds was not a lot of time. Jeff was busy scribbling away only to find out that the posture had changed. It was starting to get infuriating.

His end result looked like detailed stick figures. The proportions and body positions were accurate. He just didn't have time to flesh out the drawings and add depth to them.

my head hurts so lol describing today 8)

[identity profile] snarksterpilot.livejournal.com 2010-07-08 06:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Nester's drawings looked particularly... very off. They are much sketchier than usual due to the time limit, and the proportions were horrendously off. Good luck dealing with him on that, Raikov.

Welp, it was almost like his first time drawing. He wasn't just naturally good at this sadly.

"Sorry, I'm not all that used to having fingers," excuses, but at least he tried.

He just can't draw fast, and he had trouble picking a pose.

There was... THERE WAS A HAT.

THERE WAS A HAT ON HIS DESK.

WHERE DID THAT COME FROM?
