Except it's not really all that dark and stormy. It's a cool, clear night in Final Destination, ready and waiting for shenanigans of all sorts. The streets are full of trick-or-treaters, the front porches are full of pumpkins, the sky is full of stars. All-in-all...a perfect evening.

Of course, nothing is always as it seems. As the night drags on, it becomes clear that something is not quite right. But what is Halloween without a few scares? As someone once said, it's close to midnight, and something evil's lurking in the dark...

The mercenary totally ignored the consumption of the rum-filled chocolate balls, opting to take himself and the bottle to the couch. He flopped down next to Silver, gazing dully at the screen in front of him.

"None'a this makes any sense ta me," he admitted, breaking the seal on the alcohol bottle. "Seriously."

Shinon wouldn't have noticed his nod of agreement as he popped another chocolate ball. They were a bit less disgusting now that he was getting used to the flavor, so they were starting to go pretty fast as he popped them like he would have any other candy. It was about half way through the entire box that his stomach caught up with his brain to say that this sudden influx of chocolate and rum was not a good idea.

Setting aside the box, he continued to watch this episode intently, even if it was hard to follow what was going on. As the scene (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8wAl6Km8cRs&feature=related) continued, Silver let out a tiny laugh. In a now slightly buzzed state this was quickly becoming comedy gold as his juvenile sense of humor began to slowly peek through.

Shinon looked at him funny. He opted against saying anything, however, since it was sort of funny, so instead, he leaned back and took a drink. Finally, he capped it and set it at his side, watching the cartoon.

Silver began to feel bitter towards the end of the episode as Marcelline's daddy issues were resolved. Had Shinon been playing any attention to the boy at all he would have noticed his expression shift from happiness to hurt.

"I hate my dad... he's such a... jerk" he blurted out.

Previously, Shinon had been generally spacing out: he was more focused on the colors that presented themselves on the screen than the actual content. Silver's statement interrupted his concentration, or... lack thereof.

He took a moment to try to understand what Silver was talking about, but once he did, he remembered Silver bitching about his father some time ago. After the encounter with said father, Shinon had thought that Silver was just a complaining teen who really had nothing to complain about. However, for him to bring it up so much... the marksman wondered what the deal really was.

However, this train of thought was taking too long, so Shinon blurted, "You told me. Big joik and all. Yeah."

This sick feeling wasn't getting any better, though that seemed the least of his issues now that he was in full blown daddy issues mode.

"He's more then just a jerk!" he began on what would most likely be on the fast track for emotional puking. "He's a coward and... a liar. I can take care of myself but he treats me like a child!"

Whatever pathetic excuse he had for a self censor seemed to be fading fast.

Shinon pointed to the heavy black that rung his eye. "You think I haven't seen it? Che," he spat; "coward is right. Dat fucker had to use his Pokeymons to hold me back, y'know? Took like five cheap shots, the little shit." Part of his story may have been an over-exaggeration, but why did that matter to a drunkard?

He reclined further before sitting forward, his back hunched over. "So why else's this sad excuse of a human being grate yer nerves?" He wanted to know. He wanted to know why else he could hate him, too.

Silver didn't really care about the exaggeration, not even taking into account his warped view of reality, his dad could have just yelled at Shinon and he'd still hate him for it. "Hmph. I'm not surprised, he can't do anything by himself." he muttered before reclining himself like Shinon. Unlike Shinon he really didn't feel like sitting back up.

"If he loses he doesn't even try again he just gives up..." this ramble could go on. "Not only that but he thinks he's better then everyone else..." he really didn't realize how hypocritical this rant was beginning to sound. "he always talks about how I'm just like him but I'm not!" this added anger was really not helping things. "Ever since I came to this school he acts like he can just walk back in on my life like nothing ever happened." and thankfully he was sober enough to realize he should really try and end thing ramble now because it was heading into territory that he doesn't like talking about.

The first few things the student mentioned didn't stick to Shinon. However, the last bit felt like something he could grip onto and run with: a good reason to hate him, for sure. He smirked. "All damn bastards think that's how it works," the archer stated. "Yeahp, kinda thought he was that sort'f dick. Hah. Damn... bastard."

"Yeah well..." there was a bit of a long pause as he finally composed himself into a far more apathetic state. "He can't take a hint that I don't need him around anymore."

"You gotta say it- straight- up," he told him, pulling his gaze from the colors on the TV. "Tell 'im... tell 'im to fuck off." Yes, this is Shinon's solution.

"I have, multiple times..." he replied, suspiciously sounding like he had a hint of whine in that response. He closed his eyes for a moment before continuing "...he's just stubborn."

He groaned. "What a drag," he mumbled, kicking his leg up over his knee and crossing his legs. "Well, don't know what to tell ya, kid. I ain't a counseling service." Shinon paused and looked over to Silver. "If yur serious about it, he'd stop some day."
