Touring! Misty sure likes it!
Who: Misty, Falkner
What: TOURING. Around the school. Because... Falkner needs it.
Where: The school, of course.
When: July 24
This was only to remind Misty that she'd really needed to keep in better contact with the other leaders.
She kept in some decent contact, namely with the Kanto leaders, but since she had hung out with Jasmine while she was still around, she hadn't really been with the other leaders. This was something she had to fix. In fact, how was she with the school in general? She wasn't around as much as usual. That, as well, was something that had to be remedied.
Falkner was a Johto gym leader anyway, right? She never really kept in contact with any of the Johto leaders at all unless it was for important business, if at all. Maybe she should broaden those horizons. Morty was already at the school, and now Falkner had just arrived. This just gave her a bit more initiative.
That was enough of that train of thought, though. It was time to focus on why she was meeting with Falkner today. She headed for his place and gave his door a knock.

He smiled a little upon seeing her for the first time. "Hi, Misty! You're right on time." He pressed the door open even further. "I must say it's a lot nicer meeting you when you're not a one-eyed bug."
no subject
"It is! But that's okay because, well, we're going on a nice tour with nothing to worry about and no bugs, right?" Misty just awkwardly laughed, as if hurriedly trying to shove that away. "Now come on, we should go! H-How has planning your class been, anyway?! And what do you want to see first?"
She was just. Walking away and expecting him to follow now. She does not want to remember that week ever aaaahhh.
no subject
"Anything of interest that we pass by would be a good start while we head to the stadium," he decided. "I heard it could do all kinds of gymnastics, like fold into whatever layout or terrain you desire. My class will take place there."
no subject
"That's what it's supposed to do!" Misty spoke from what she'd heard around the school. "But I don't think I've seen it myself, and I haven't tried it out either. Can you imagine how that would be for battling? It'd be great! I wonder if it could check into a water setting for a battle? Oh, wouldn't you like it if it could change into something that could put you really high in the air?"
Platforms, maybe? She didn't know, although she may find one day that this was probably possible.
no subject
"Of course, that also means stages that present a disadvantage to your specialty type," Falkner added, smile plunging as he imagined some kind of horrible electric field that probably starred in a nightmare or two. No, he really didn't like electric types or anything that had to deal with them if that wasn't made obvious by now. Go figure.
no subject
"That would be horrible! What if there's a stage with electricity in it? Only my Quagsire would be able to make it out of there!" She stated. That wouldn't be so pleasant.
no subject
no subject
"There it is! Come on!" She lead him there. "Maybe we can even find out how to change the field?" If it was open for any to try. If not, she'd refrain from attempting. She didn't want to damage it!
no subject
...Actually, this didn't look quite as spectacular as he had been expecting. It looked just like an especially large stadium for staged Pokemon battle events. There must be more than meets the eye, he thought. Everything in Final Destination City proved to be that way.
"Hmm... Up there," he pointed. "It looks like there's a control panel locked in behind glass. I bet that's where it changes. That door must lead up to it." His finger descended and without any of Misty's input, he began to head towards it.
no subject
And that was exactly what she was ready to check out. Once Falkner pointed out the control panel over yonder and left her, Misty was quick to follow. "It looks like it! I wonder if we can figure out how to use it?" She wasn't exactly the most technologically advanced. She knew a little of it, at least enough to handle the journal network decently, but she wasn't a whiz.
They reached the door and headed over. A flight of stairs lead up to the room seen through the glass, containing a few little things, but most notably, the control panel. It gave a decent view of the Stadium, too! That was always nice.
It seemed to work on both voice command and manual input. That was... interesting, Misty thought. Which would be easier, though? "Which one should we do? We can use our voices and our hands to work it!" She informed him.
no subject
It didn't listen because Falkner only has the Zephyr Badge...At first, there was nothing. Falkner folded his arms and stared out at the field. "It's never that simple, is it? Don't they have some kind of manual lying around here--"
Oh, nevermind. The stage was morphing from bleak astroturf for miles to accommodate a water bed. Craggy boulders rose up from beneath the filling current, as well as platforms and stretches of turf for land dwellers. Falkner grinned at the transformation and quit looking for a newbie's guide on how to tell your stage what to do. "Ah, I take it back! Nice." He looked to Misty for her reaction.
no subject
But that was when it all changed, or rather, the field changed. It shaped up into a completely different kind of terrain, full of swishing water that resembled that of the purest lakes. It was a beautiful sight, especially under the sun's bright rays and amongst the land littering the Stadium, protruding from the waves. It just... reminded her of the ocean in one beautiful, transforming package.
She loved it. She was very obvious with it as she practically gushed over it. "That's... so cool! I didn't even think it'd do it like that, but it did!" It was so stunning. If she had her swimsuit right now, she'd even consider stepping out in there for herself.
"What other ones can we see? Oh wait, I've got it! What about something for flying Pokemon?" She wanted to see what Falkner might most enjoy, as well!
no subject
"Okay. Change stage to an aerial type of plane." The stadium was flushed of all water in a way that defied physics and was replaced with a staggeringly dimension-breaking expanse of clouds. Essentially, the stage became this:
Durr. Falkner was a little lost for words here.
no subject
"What," uttered the gym leader in pure astonishment.
What. Was that a floating Slowpoke. No wait, that was a floating Wooper, too. And a Seel. And OH GOD WHAT IS THIS.
"... Are they... real?!" They were GIANT. POKEMON. SUDDENLY, THEY MATERIALIZED. What in the world was this and why was this happening oh god akfhakjhsfahf she kind of really wanted that Seel.
no subject
"...They're moving, Misty..." That Snorlax was definitely breathing over there. Talk About Creepy...
no subject
"They're... all moving!!" She shrieked. They were practically floating in this control panel and oh god she did not like this. This was not a stage she would enjoy battling in. "Can't you change it?!" This place. Gave her. Heebie-jeebies up the wazoo.
no subject
And then, the entire stage was consumed by this image:
Too bad. You put too much emphasis on the s, Falkner. Now say it one more time, only with feeling.
One of Falkner's eyebrows twitched. "That's... not what I had asked for. At all."
no subject
Was- Was this serious? Yes, it was serious. They were now on a stage where you could fight in a cup of ice cream. Perhaps one could say that this was... kinda cool.
Misty just stared in bewilderment. "How could anyone even... fight on this thing?! At all?!" She then did what anyone would probably do to something like this: she facepalmed. "Maybe it would be good to eat out of, but... who knows where that ice cream has even been!"
Okay, no, NOW she was really curious. "If this can change it to an ice cream, I-... I... Change this field into an underwater field!"
A silence. Then the area of the stadium was washed over with even more water than the first stage they'd tried contained. It even washed over the window panel of the control deck, giving them a sight that would probably make them feel like they were in an aquarium and looking in. The water was filled with fishy creatures and Pokemon, and the bottom of the stadium now resembled the ocean floor with lots of coral, sea sponges, and other things.
"Oh... wow!" Now she was really, truly breathless. She didn't even think it would work, but- but it did!
no subject
"Still, this is all pretty amazing." He gave the control board another look-over. "I'll have to practice with it some other time. It makes me wonder how far it can actually go." Falkner was so tempted to ask the stage to transform into something completely ridiculously foolish like somebody's nose or the end of the universe just to see what it would do. "And how to they come up with all those props... I still don't know if they're real or not."
no subject
"It is! I can't wait to actually battle on a stage like this!" She then paused, her mind conjuring up a question, but should she ask it? Pfft, she's a gym leader, so why not?
"Maybe we can even battle sometime here!"
no subject
no subject
Oh yes, they should probably revert the Stadium back now. Yeah. Sure. That would help a lot, yeah. "Oh! Should we change the field to normal? I should still show you the rest of the school!" Of course, that was only if Falkner really wanted to. They could always mess around just a bit more before they left.
no subject
"You were really looking forward to show me the pool, I think," he reminded with a knowing grin. "Remember?"
no subject
Oh, right, touring. That thing. Yeah. Misty motioned for him to follow her. "The pool is my favorite part of the school! It's really big, and it's pretty good for a nice, long swim. Do you ever like to swim often?" She questioned. Hopefully he would say yes, because hey, then she could even have another swimming buddy!

no subject
"Oh, well... that's okay! You can always try it again sometime! What else do you do in spare time? Or do you just fly with your Pokemon for fun?" She questioned. That seemed like a fun activity, but one she also hadn't given much thought to. It looked like in that manner, she was in Falkner's boat (no sea pun intended).
Puns: you're full of them aren't you
b-but I love them 8>
"I've never flown before! I don't even think I've flown on a plane before, let alone a Pokemon," she answered. "I've only ever had to surf on my Pokemon to get to where I want to go! I always surf on Lapras or Starmie!"
i'm gay and completely late. :'(
it is fine you lovable gay <3
Even though she would be later.
And forget to get a Pelipper. OOPS~no subject
Oops your loss |D"You're not alone in that, for I too haven't been as far as Hoenn... but I think you'll be pleasantly surprised to find that Wingull can be spotted down by the waves of Vermillion's coast. That's just a hop and a skip from Cerulean!"
no subject
Once they reached the school, Misty pointed to a nearby outdoor area. Clearly the pool was nearby. "Come on, this way," she spoke. "The pool's right around here!"
no subject
no subject
Well, the pool was shown. She paused, wondering what else was left. "Oh, hm... where else do you want to look at? Any classrooms? The courtyard? The greenhouse? The cafeteria?"
