Armed Weaponry - Thermal gunfight

[[AGAIN this class has totally been taught in spirit this whole time and this particular class is backdated to Tuesday. And I am still the hugest derp.]]

*TODAY. Armed Weaponry will be taking place OUTSIDE in the snow, yes. There is a large note written on Miss Aran's chalkboard stating this for super special for students who did not hear her announce this the last dozen or so times last class, or are stragglers running late and didn't get the memo. Once enough students have filtered into the school's large, open, white-covered courtyard Samus will start her lecture.*

Today we will be revisiting the Super Scope, an item I hope you are all more than familiar with by now and learning how to use your surrounding environment to your advantage.

Here, *as Samus rips off the cover to a large table she had dragged out here earlier, on said table containing a multitude of SUPER SCOPES* you will find Super Scopes modified with a thermal scope instead of a normal scope. This will allow you to see extreme temperature differences, making it easier to detect your opponent in cold settings.

Today will be a simple class. No teams, no capture the flag, just a free-for-all. Utilize your thermal scopes to find opponents. Utilize your environment to avoid detection. The Super Scope itself will generate heat when it is fired, so keep this in mind.

Also keep in mind, *as Samus picks up a Super Scope for herself* I will be playing along with you.

[[The gun itself will record the number of times you are hit and/or successfully hit someone else and will not fire should you try to leave the courtyard with it. Other teachers and non-Armed Weaponry Students are more than welcome to stumble into the courtyard and play too. ♥ ]]

And so, after careful and calculated positioning Samus crawled into an ideal sniping position, ready to spring out of the way should he retaliate.

Target sighted. ~~Commencing hostilities.~~

Luckily Jake was ready. He rolled to the side just as the shots were fired, not caring that he was covered in snow now, and fired some shots in the direction of the totally inconspicuous snow bank.

Totally inconspicuous snow bank exploded in a flurry of powery snow which feathered back to earth. Samus narrowly dodged out of the way of shots.

Now she was out in the open, gun aimed at Jake.

She had the tiniest ghost of a smirk that seemed to say, Let's see what you've got.

Jake cricked his neck and raised his super scope. He smirked for just a moment. Let's dance.

He ran for her, raising his gun.

Samus ran forward, charging her shot as she ran. Once she was close enough to Jake she jumped into the air and fired a huge blast downwards.

Jake dodged to the side with what can only be described as some sort of break dancing move, hopping over and firing a shot of his own super scope in the direction of where Samus would be landing.

Clever ~~girl~~ boy, it was all Samus could do to think quickly and counter his shot with a shot of her own, unable to dodge with the timing he had fired his. The two balls of energy collided and neither gun registered a point.

That was close. A little too close for her liking. But quite thrilling.

Samus let loose a volley of rapid fire shots at Jake while running for the nearest object for cover.

Jake followed her lead, strafing and unleashing a volley of shots, jumping behind a tree to take cover.

He took a few deep breaths. "You're pretty good," he called out.

Similarly, Samus ducked behind a tree and once she stopped firing she took a second to catch her breath. ~~Pretty... good.~~ (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P017y_pbAsY)

The bounty hunter wasn't one to freely give out compliments unless she felt it was well earned. "You aren't too bad yourself."

"Gotta say, I love this class," Jake informed her, charging up his scope. He ducked out from behind the tree and took a shot in the direction of her cover.

Just when Samus thought she could safely peek out she was greeted with a near-shot to the face. She'd have to be more crafty than that.

"Just doing my job." Not everyone had exceptional shooting skills, let alone on par with Samus'. It had been too long since she was last in a really good showdown. Having a gunfight with Jake was proving quite fun.

Since her cover was not the best, Samus decided to go up it. She climbed the tree and then took a high leap into the air while firing her gun.

They had entered her territory.

She was barely breathing or moving, trying to make herself undetetable as possible. Using environments to avoid detection was her specialty. Lash had played this waiting game little in her life considering her lack of patience, but today it would be worth it. So she had stayed in the trees for the most opportune moment to strike. And now it came.

The student was much more at home in tight spaces and in the forest than most normal human beings. Commanding Officer powers were a rather odd thing. Dropping from her watching point, she suddenly used her legs as leverage to push around a large tree branch and hang herself upside down. As gravity made her twirl, she fired, making Samus' curved shot explode in the air.

"You owe me one, Jake! Shall we tango?" Good old Orange Star code words for team tagging.

Finishing her loop and landing on two feet, she bolted off deeper into the forest.

Wait, where did Lash come from? Considering she saved his hide like that, he wasn't complaining. "Let's dance!" he called back. He followed her lead, bolting into the forest.

Damn kids damn Lash running off in the forest that was out of class bounds because Samus had only programmed the guns to work in the courtyard but Lash would probably fix it to do otherwise damn kids damn damn damn.

Samus gave chase, stealthy and fast.

Jake continued running, charging up a shot in his super scope. He wasn't exactly expecting Lash to show up there, but at least it was keeping the showdown going. He just wondered what the heck Lash was planning.

Suddenly, Lash appeared besides him, grabbing his gun before giving him hers.

"Here, I've given them a few modifications," she told him through clenched teeth, holding down a few screwdrivers and pins. You'd think it was impossible for someone to run while opening a gun and operating it, but she somehow managed, jumping out of the way of trees at the last minute. She gave it a crank before jumping on his other side of Jake and taking back her own gun.

"There. Samus is pretty tough, but at least in the forest we'll have terrain advantage with my CO powers." Did it count as cheating if she overrode the control grid? Who knew, she didn't really care. "Let's go for Operation Orange Star Code 537. Divide and Conquer."

Jake took the gun from her, quite confused. "Well... You got it. But what did you do to the guns?" he asked.

"Just making sure we can use them inside the woods, that's all."

"Also I might have boosted their recharge power. Be careful, they'll get hot faster."

Which meant Samus was going to be utilizing that thermal scope she had installed to hunt them down. Not that they couldn't do the same to her but at least visually, Samus seemed to disappear in the dark woods. Samus already had an idea of how Jake fought so she stalked after Lash.

It took her a while, but once she found her, Samus held down the trigger and charged her gun up to maximum before sending the mammoth shot Lash's way.
