Sometimes a lack of willpower can lead to a good thing. In Lucca's case, she'd gotten into the habit of eating out in the city and buying packaged meals there for the past few weeks. When many in the school started to get sick and she stayed healthy, she realized that maybe she ought to keep it up. It might be just a coincidence, but whatever was going on, she shouldn't change now.

[Audio, to Rock]

Hey, you want to go out for lunch? I'll meet you downtown, okay?

[And Action]

And so, somewhere between Kait Sith's Cat Cafe and Brewster's Coffee House, Lucca waits by the bare ornamental trees for his robot buddy.

[Wow, Rock had never been invited to lunch before...!]

Sure thing! I'll be there!

[Action]

After making sure Rush would be okay without him for a while, Rock threw on a coat and took off into the city. She wasn't exactly specific about WHERE downtown they'd meet, but he would not be deterred. Although he DID kind of wish he'd brought Rush along afterwards...

When he finally found her, he ran up, hands on his knees. Did robots run out of breath? Perhaps Rock was just programmed to simulated it. "There you are! Sorry if I'm late!" he said.

"You're not late. Not really." Lucca replies, grinning awkwardly and closing her book. "I'm glad you could make it though! I'm starting to get hungry..."

She takes a glance around the square. She knows that, to a certain extent, Rock doesn't eat, so the burden of choice was on her. However, it'd make sense to go somewhere where they actually serve something robots could use to replenish themselves... or at least plug in.

"...how about MegaBytes, over there?" She asks, pointing in the direction of a brushed-aluminum cafe on the corner.

"Well, it's worth a shot!" he said confidently. "I've never been asked to go have lunch with someone, so I don't know a lot about restaurants here," he admitted sheepishly. But he figured she probably guessed that already.

"Yeah, you don't have to eat a lot of stuff like humans do, huh? You just take your energy straight-up? It's probably more efficient that way, now that I think about it. Plus you don't have to deal with burnt food."

Into the cafe they go, and the robo-waiter shows them to a little table outside and passes a couple of menus.

"So you've really never gone to hang out in a place like this with someone before? Or study, or anything?"

[megabuster]

"I guess so, but it'd be nice to taste something one of these days," Rock replied, shrugging. The grass was always greener on the other side, he supposed.

As Rock took his menu, looking for something he could have, he answered, "No, never. At least not here. I've been to restaurants with my father and sister, but he was the only one who did any eating. Hey!" He jabbed his finger at the menu. "They have E-tanks here!"

"They do?" She peers at hers, her face disappearing for a moment. "...Huh. Wow, they do! That makes things easy!"

Then something occurs to her. "I didn't know you had a sister. I take it she's a robot like you?"

[megabuster]

After placing their orders, Rock answered Lucca's inquiry by digging into his pocket. "Yeah! Her name's Roll. She was created just after me! She's the best sister you could ask for. Always looking out for me and Dr. Light. Here..."

He pulled his cell phone out of his pocket. "Dr. Light got me this in case I ever wanted to get in touch with him while I was here. I have a commlink, but he suggested this is what most normal kids would use. Roll grabbed it before I left and filled it up with pictures of her, and everyone else back home!" He held it up for Lucca to see. The wallpaper of his phone was of himself, with a blonde girl hugging him, and an elderly bearded man standing with them. "There's me, there's Roll, and there's Dr. Light!"

"Aww!" She can't help but exclaim at the picture. Few things mean you care about your family more, than a wallpaper dedicated to them. It's true!

"So that's Dr. Light, huh? Huh, looks a little like someone I used to know... except without the beard. Anyway, it looks like you've got a really great family! Oh here--"

Since they're showing off family photos, she gets out her tablet and pokes around until she uncovers a burly man with a hammer over his shoulder and a willowy purple-haired woman sitting in a chair next to him, with a ten-year-old Lucca grinning like an idiot as she sits on the floor with a textbook in her lap.

"That's an old picture, but that's my mom and dad! Taban and Lara are their names. I'll try to find a more recent one in a minute..." She adds with a little awkwardness.

"They look great!" Rock said with a smile. "Is he a blacksmith? That's a big hammer!"

He unlocked his phone and pulled up some more pictures. This time was a holiday picture, of himself along with his other brothers, Cutman, Gutsman, Bombman, Elecman, Fireman, Iceman, Oilman, and Timeman, over the holidays. "There's a lot of robots that Dr. Light designed that I call my brothers," he explained.

She leans in to peer at the phone along with him. "Wow... Dr. Light must be a genius. She chimes in. "...They're really specialized, too. At least they look really specialized."

[megabuster]

"They are!" Rock explained. "Dr. Light designed all of the Robot Masters to be helpful to humanity. See? Gutsman is designed for construction, so he's a big and strong robot. And Elecman is designed to operate power plants..." He rambled on, excitedly explaining about his mechanical family proudly.
