(no subject)

Who: Cyrus and whoever
What: Deep thoughts and etc
Where: Stadium
When: Nighttime, the 29th
Warnings: Possibly cult shenanigans also we may be out after curfew

It was rare for the stadium to be unoccupied, so Cyrus hadn't gotten a chance to run this program yet. As he watched, the setting changed to a near-perfect copy of the Spear Pillar.

Of course, it wasn't perfect. How the programmers could have replicated the detail work along the altar and yet have included a tree growing on a summit where nothing lived was a subject for another time. And of course the feeling was gone, that sensation of being privy to the secrets of the universe, to the dawn of time.

But it was as close as he could come at present to being there.

He sat in silent thought on the copy of that spot where he had once brought forth the gods from their alternate world, where he had very nearly become a god himself.

If someone was to approach, he wouldn't notice unless they spoke with him.

Cammy didn't recognize this environment, though she assumed it was from Cyrus' homeland. She stood near the stone staircase, hair whipping in the wind.

"Contemplating the universe?"

The holochamber... The moment a newbie walks into the arena's holographic emitter, they always seem to be able to think of a place that stood out to them and program it into it with relative ease. He wasn't sure why the impulse to make a "stage" of their own was so strong. It wasn't homesickness, exactly. More a need to leave an impression and see how lifelike they could make it.

That said, it wasn't hard to tell that this was the kind of place Cyrus would create. Beyond the placid atmosphere it had the feeling of something very powerful watching you with disapproval... almost as though you were a mistake that had to be erased.

Gordon was kind of used to that feeling by now.

"This is a use for the Arena I never thought of." He mutters quietly, more to alert the philosophy teacher to his presence than anything.

"Feels more like a shrine than an arena." He mutters. "Did you program this?"

"YOUR world, you mean?" He's a scientist, he can't help but be overly specific.

Without getting into semantics like the difference or synonymity between "world" and "universe," he'll focus on the more important part.

"And who would that be?"

"It'd be easy to imagine that your god had abandoned you, especially if you came into a world filled with violence."

The pieces are slowly starting to fall into place now.

"You talk like you've actually been there before. Spear Pillar, I mean."

"I'm guessing you weren't there to give them a handshake and a pat on the back, either."

Gods are something he never actually believed in, in the hard definition. Of course there were a number of things out there that were powerful enough to be considered gods, but even those died if you hit them with enough firepower.

"But if Arceus is no longer with you, what good would eliminating them actually come to?"

Wait...

"Unless... you wanted the laws of nature they imparted to fall apart."
