[open] city log! Can I really be the hero?

Who: YOU and YOU and maybe you
What: catch-all open log for all your drug vigilante needs
Where: Final Destination City
When: WHENEVER YOU WANT
Warnings: drugs and vigilanting, at the very least
helpful links: here.

Indeed, ever since that casual Monday outing turned tragic, civil unrest and tensions have been high again in FDC, and worse yet; fingers are starting to be pointed in Smash Academy's direction. After long since flying under the radar of this whole mess, no attacks have happened on the school yet, but who's to say how long that will last?

The city is tumultuous. It's not impossible to still have a completely incident-less outing, but it would be wise to not go out and about with your Smash Academy uniforms on for all to see. Not unless you like fearful whispers and hissing insults behind your back. Even a simple trip to the grocery store could prove dangerous if you aren't careful.

Maybe you're a little more creative however, and are able to purposefully mask features that might otherwise identify you, or you sneak around in the dead of night using the shadows as your cover...

Humans now tend to segregate themselves with other humans, "freaks" tend to ostracize anyone not of their kin, and all this negativity intensifies rapidly if those colorful candy pops are present. Crime and riots are now common than occasional. The FDC Police manages most of the affairs but they can't prevent everything, and would probably appreciate a helping hand regardless if it's from a human or a "freak"... though thanks and courtesy may go one way or another depending on who/what you are.

Who knows, maybe you'll save someone's life and give them a better appreciation for the things you do instead of what you are...

[[As it says on the tin, HERE'S AN OPEN LOG, GO NUTS. Get together with some of your buddies and go play masked vigilante against a group of drug thugs bullying someone who doesn't deserve it (or maybe they do, for all you know). Save someone from a burning building set on fire by some angry social justice warrior animals. Escort someone to the grocery store. Break into the sheriff's office and demand your own brand of justice. Maybe you simply want to get a drink at the bar without incident.

Please feel free to NPC your bad guys/mooks/innocent civilians, or go snag Kat or one of the other lovely lady mods if you have any questions.

ONE RULE: you must use anime thread titles. That's all.

Edit: I lied. Rule 2: tag yourselves in.]]

The brute headed for Innes met with a terrible fate, as he tried to dodge the arrow sent for his other shoulder but found himself getting it lodged but a millimeter off its intended mark. He grunted and winced, but tried to pull the arrow out, which he found was a painful mistake. It hurt to have an arrow stuck in your shoulder, but to try to pull it out was agonizing. Both of his arms were rendered completely useless.

Their leader, on the other hand, whipped her forearms out in front of her chest. The arrow pierced through the skin of her bare arms, and she let out a cry of pain. She was lucky she managed to escape that one, but that meant that this boy meant business... He was no pushover.

"Ghhh-... Don't hold back on this fuckin' kid!" she screamed, and the last three turned their focus back to the troublesome archer. Their drugged-up states allowed them the stamina to ignore the wounds they incurred from Innes's earlier shot, and their bloodshot eyes said it all: they were on something that reduced their inhibitions and made them aggressive fighters, and nothing more than that.

Their speediest member came for Innes, brandishing a steel pipe in her hands and heading straight for his head as though she were a batter and he was the pitch. Close in range like that, she was certain she would land her devastating blow. Ulki wasn't ready to shift, but he knew that archers were not meant for close-range combat like that. The hawk laguz dove for the woman with the pipe and kicked her to the ground before she could reach Innes; her pipe flew from her hands and broke through the window of a nearby building.

With the most agile of the group down, Ulki could hear that the others were far enough away to give Innes room to shoot - especially because the other two charging for Innes now stalled and puzzled over their new target. To bolt for the archer, or the sub-human...?

These people simply seemed to ignore his attacks. "By the gods, what are they?" Perhaps it was worse than he had expected. This fighting was probably mystical in nature and Innes wanted little to do with magic. Perhaps they were possessed. It was hard to tell.

He could tell, however, that they were immensely strong but their cognitive reasoning had gone down the drain. Their ability to form a challenging formation was nil, though they had managed to catch him off guard with the woman with the pipe. She surely would've taken off his head if it hadn't been for Ulki's surprise attack.

Innes had seen him flying on the side yet hadn't quite expected a save. He offered the bird a nod before drawing his arrows once again. The attackers were in a stupor, which left Innes with an excellent opportunity to take them down. Drawing three more arrows, he aimed at the leader and the immediate followers, then immediately releasing those arrows, he drew another and another to take down whatever scragglers were left in the party.

Take down being the optimal phrase, of course. He wasn't entirely sure how effective his arrows really would be at this point.

Innes's shot indeed took down two of the three remaining: one lacky, and the leader herself.

The final of them - the most burly of the four left on the field - crumpled to the floor. His dilated pupils shot up to look to his leader, but she was... Down. She let out not a sound. The man, pushed to his limit, tried to focus on the archer and the laguz before he decided that it was time to call it quits.

While the others on his team chose to fight blindly against their two opponents, he chose to use the last of his stamina to run as fast as he could to get away from Innes's arrows. He kicked off his feet and fled, heading for an alleyway.

Ulki didn't bother to pursue him, but he gave Innes a quick glance, wondering if the student felt the same way about the situation.

Still... Considering their dead-set intent, it was probably a lucky save that Innes came out of nowhere to help him out. Why he did it... Ulki wished he could know.

Watching the remaining man carefully, Innes drew an arrow, pulling it tight in his bow. He'd prepared to take down the last one, but the man took a better route: leaving. Innes wasn't the type to retreat himself, but he wasn't about to shoot a person in the back. That was very dishonorable.

He let his bow go slack, rather on edge. Innes didn't particularly want to fight in another one, especially one on a foreign land. Yet here he was, helping out a stranger. Innes wasn't entirely certain what to make of Ulki yet, but strangely, he was giving him a chance. The archer had a respect for the manakete, a dragon-person tribe, though it was a strange one, as Innes didn't particularly trust or even respect many people. Perhaps there were similarities between the manakete and whatever Ulki was.

Glancing around, Innes couldn't particularly find anyone else, but he wasn't entirely certain there wouldn't be someone else hiding in the shadows. His vantage point was rather grim, but someone else probably had a better one. "Do you see anyone else?" he asked Ulki.

Ulki closed his eyes, using his ears to detect any trouble rather than his eyes. Other than the noise of that cowardly lackey running for safety and the distant noise of casual city-goers, nobody else caught Ulki's attention.

"No," he answered simply. "There's nobody else around to be concerned about."

The hawk laguz landed on the pavement, his wings folding close to his back. He gave Innes a glance.
