[open] city log! Can I really be the hero?

Who: YOU and YOU and maybe you
What: catch-all open log for all your drug vigilante needs
Where: Final Destination City
When: WHENEVER YOU WANT
Warnings: drugs and vigilanting, at the very least
helpful links: here.

Indeed, ever since that casual Monday outing turned tragic, civil unrest and tensions have been high again in FDC, and worse yet; fingers are starting to be pointed in Smash Academy's direction. After long since flying under the radar of this whole mess, no attacks have happened on the school yet, but who's to say how long that will last?

The city is tumultuous. It's not impossible to still have a completely incident-less outing, but it would be wise to not go out and about with your Smash Academy uniforms on for all to see. Not unless you like fearful whispers and hissing insults behind your back. Even a simple trip to the grocery store could prove dangerous if you aren't careful.

Maybe you're a little more creative however, and are able to purposefully mask features that might otherwise identify you, or you sneak around in the dead of night using the shadows as your cover...

Humans now tend to segregate themselves with other humans, "freaks" tend to ostracize anyone not of their kin, and all this negativity intensifies rapidly if those colorful candy pops are present. Crime and riots are now common than occasional. The FDC Police manages most of the affairs but they can't prevent everything, and would probably appreciate a helping hand regardless if it's from a human or a "freak"... though thanks and courtesy may go one way or another depending on who/what you are.

Who knows, maybe you'll save someone's life and give them a better appreciation for the things you do instead of what you are...

[[As it says on the tin, HERE'S AN OPEN LOG, GO NUTS. Get together with some of your buddies and go play masked vigilante against a group of drug thugs bullying someone who doesn't deserve it (or maybe they do, for all you know). Save someone from a burning building set on fire by some angry social justice warrior animals. Escort someone to the grocery store. Break into the sheriff's office and demand your own brand of justice. Maybe you simply want to get a drink at the bar without incident.

Please feel free to NPC your bad guys/mooks/innocent civilians, or go snag Kat or one of the other lovely lady mods if you have any questions.

ONE RULE: you must use anime thread titles. That's all.

Edit: I lied. Rule 2: tag yourselves in.]]

The blonde sucked his breath in as he swung his sword up to meet the Wendigo's claws. There was a loud CLANG as the blade bounced off of the attack, and Jin rolled to the side once it was deflected.

This monster wouldn't be felled easily by ice, that much was certain. So, he had to take a slightly different approach.

He took two steps back, ice forming rapidly under his boots, before a platform was molded underneath him. It rose him off the ground and towards the Wendigo at blinding speed. The chunk of ice shot past the demon, but Jin didn't go with it, diving off and delivering a sharp slash to his back. It was shallow, but it was a start.

Though the sword struck true, the damage was shallower than Jin probably would've liked - most of the blade struck only the Wendigo's thick fur, leaving a superficial wound. The cut drew out a snarl from the demon, but a little pain and some fancy bladework wasn't about to faze him. If anything, his annoyance only grew.

Jin's agility was nothing that the Wendigo could match, especially when the swordsman could use his own ice to boost his movements. Unfortunately, the demon race of maneaters - the Jaki - carried a unique power to their blood. With a roar, a sudden light beamed down onto Jin's body, like an immense pressure locking all his limbs. The power of the Wendigo's Bind effectively crippled his movements so that even the smallest of steps required all his will to take.

Knowing his prey could now no longer flee nor counterattack, the beast of the frozen wastelands began to summon a great chill to fuel his magic. The power of Ice Dance was random, indiscriminate - but it could also barrage a single enemy with a vicious flurry of pain.

After warning Minako not to go anywhere in the city without him since they had arrived, Shinjiro had, of course, ignored what he preached and had taken to going alone. It was hard to shake the habit off after all, and a few years behind a dark alley wasn't something new to him. He'd done worse, and his glare usually worked well enough to put most of the tumultuous townsfolk to walk in the other direction.

If they didn't, they learned fast enough not to try messing with him. He might have spent months in the hospital in a coma, but even sick, Shinjiro was no pushover, Persona or not.

The situation was far different in Final Destination. He'd fought Shadows, not Demons, and only during the Dark Hour, but he knew enough the difference between a monster about to cause harm than a student in the school. Whoever it was assaulting (which he couldn't see, thanks to the mask Jin was wearing), was running into serious danger and far be it for him to just ignore someone in distress.

Even if he liked to pretend otherwise.

The SEES member hadn't gotten himself an axe yet, so grabbing the creature's gigantic antlers was the fastest solution he could think right now. Without a word or a warning, he ran towards Wendigo. The freezing sensation pricked his skin and slowly started to climb up his hands the longer he held on. Wincing inwardly, he managed to compose himself long enough to grab the central fin and attempt flinging Wendigo over his shoulder and into the ground, despite the beast's size compared to his own.

Jin hardly even had time to be surprised by the inability to move his limbs when suddenly a powerful stranger came out of nowhere. Now out of the Wendigo's mysterious beam was no longer concentrated on him, Jin could begin to feel tingling mobility begin to restore through his body. Damn, who the hell was this? He had wanted for this battle to be between him and the monster alone, but now this fool was going to come in and get himself hurt on Jin's behalf?

Though to be fair, he was lucky Shinjiro had shown up when he did. Not that he would ever admit it to himself.

As soon as he was able to fully move again, without saying a single word to the man in the beanie, Jin redrew his sword and dashed past him, intent on making a deeper cut in the Wendigo's hide.

With Shinjiro's strength and the element of surprise, he managed to interrupt Wendigo's spell and slam him into the pavement. The ground seemed to shake from the impact, and an icy rush of air swept out from where he landed. Perhaps the Ice Dance wasn't performed, but he had gathered enough magical power to send a blast of cold out to freeze anyone who happened to be near. Which, in this instance, landed Shinjiro at the epicentre of the wave from his close proximity.

While the sub-zero temperature may not have been anything that a fellow ice-user like Jin would've batted an eye at, a brittle frost began to spread across the Persona user's skin, starting with his hands and quickly covering his body. Wendigo rose once more, and took the opportunity to swat Shinjiro away while the man was momentarily immobile.

This distraction, however, left an opening for the swordsman's strike. His black, hairless chest was wide open.

He knew something like would have happened the minute he stepped in. Regardless he had, thanks or not, and the price was the sub-zero temperatures that his extremities were subjected to.

It stung, and then he couldn't move before another hit sent him off. That hit could have destroyed a lesser man but Shinjiro was made to take on and deal blows, even if he had no strengths to speak of. Minako's aid could have been helpful right now, but it wasn't the time to think of this, just shaking his hands long enough for the sensation to come back and hope that the other guy was smart enough to at least take the opportunity to do something.

The opportunity was noticed, and it was going to be taken. Jin dashed forward as Shinjiro hung back, Yukianesa at the ready.

This time he wasn't going to waste time on a slash. With a grunt, his sword was jabbed forward in a forceful stabbing motion, right at the Wendigo's chest.

Wendigo roared as the sword pierced deep into his chest, slicing through even his resilient demon skin and flesh easily. No ordinary weapon should've been able to wound him like this. His sheer rage blinded monster of frost to the pain. A trickle of blood dripped from the wound, promising a shower of red once the weapon was removed.

With one hand, the Wendigo grabbed the sword by the blade, ignoring the pain as it bit into his palm. He clawed at Jin with the other, now that the swordsman was close quarters and in range of his brutal hit.

The other man was probably defrosting at this point. A small detail.

That distraction provided Shinjiro to regain enough circulation to move one hand, and that just happened to be the one that had grabbed his evoker. Shinjiro loathed using his Persona under any circumstances, but he understood three things right now. The first was that somehow this world allowed him to use it despite the fact it wasn't the Dark Hour. Two and three came together; he was really getting tired of this shitty-ass monster, and there was bigger fish to fry, with the sordid state the entire city seemed to be right now. As demon and Jin continued their battle, he silently raised the gun to his head.

"Tch. Adios, Asshole."

In a moment of silence, the only sound heard was the gun going off as time seemed to stop. A bright flash of light, and hovering in the air, an imposing figure, silently advanced in a single bound, removing all distance between it and the demon. There wouldn't be much time to look up, but should the Wendigo feel something was wrong, there would be barely any time to react as a giant golden fist materialized out of thin air, before slamming from the sky to the ground, aimed right into the creature.

There was a reason that attacked was called God Hand.

Jin didn't even have time to react to the sight of the boy putting a gun to his head-- it felt like everything happened in a mad rush. This monster suddenly appeared, aiming a strike directly at the Wendigo. Jin was so distracted that he allowed himself to get clipped by the Wendigo's own claws, mask nearly coming off in the hit.

As quickly as possible, Jin withdrew Yukianesa from the demon's chest and rolled away to avoid being caught in the mysterious new creatures attack. One hand holding his sword, the other readjusting his mask.

That did it - Wendigo roared with pain as the sheer phyiscal force of the God Hand smashed him into the ground, finishing him. Demonic blood splattered across the pavement as the monster of ice and hunger was killed. What was left of his battered and carved up body began to crumble, turning into a pile of powdered snow.

From afar, Naoya chuckled to himself. That certainly was an interesting display of power from the young man with dishevelled-looking long hair. It was almost like the summoning of a demon, but with a distinctly different source and trigger. Perhaps something to look into later.

As for the other man, the one with the mask... he couldn't help but notice the rather familiar-looking sword. A blade of ice - how fitting for him.

Now, it wouldn't do for Naoya to be found monitoring such demons so closely. Without a word, he walked away and vanished into the air.
