Where: Off-campus restaurant. AND BEYOND!

Warnings: ???
ALSO, HEY, TAG YOUR CHARACTERS WHEN YOU REPLY TO THIS LOG.

[The second group has been told to find some place somewhat out of the way. It's at the other end of the city, and maybe a little harder to find than the others. The dining room is bigger than it looks from the outside, though, and it's actually rather nice. There's quiet music playing overhead. There seems to be a little of everything on the menu, but it all does seem a little fancy. It's expensive, but it's not like you're paying, right?

It might have been smart to dress nice- but not too nice- for your date. At least that's what Gold suggested!

There's a candle at every table. Beside each candle, there is a card. On each card, there is a different letter-number combination.

Find your table!

And feel free to leave at any time, with or without your date.]

Scout has been sitting at the table for, oh, he'll assume about five minutes, and he's getting a little bored. Shaking the salt and pepper shakers around can only prove interesting or exciting for about ten seconds, and the rest of the table is, unfortunately, pretty bare. There is a lit candle, but seeing as he's not the biggest fan of fire, he doesn't mess with it. He does stare at the flame for a little while, though, to distract himself from the remains of the knot in his stomach, but before he can really begin to ponder anything about the flame or candle, he hears a voice asking if this is Table B1.

Immediately ignoring the flame and slamming the salt shaker back down on the table, Scout looks over at his blind date and smiles. Luckily, he doesn't have to worry about the date being ugly, since she's obviously not. In fact, she seems to be ... regal, in a way, and of course, he's now nervous for another reason.

"Uh, yeah, yeah this is B1. Name's Scout."

Briefly recalling what his mother had told him in the past about treating women on dates, he stands up, nearly pushing his chair into the table behind him, and wanders over to the chair across Table B1. He pulls it back a little.

"Here y'go."

"I'm sorry to keep you," Zelda seems completely unfazed by his attention to the salt shaker, instead continuing to smile. "I hope you weren't waiting long."

She waits patiently for Scout to pull out the chair before she sits, visibly grateful for the gesture.

"It's very nice to meet you, Scout. I'm Zelda."

As soon as she sits, Scout returns to his seat and pushes the salt shaker back where it belongs.

"I've only been waitin' for a few minutes, it's no big deal. T'be honest, I don't even know why I signed up for this. I mean, I guess I was just bored... and still tryin' to get used t'this place."
ninjaprincess: (Damn I look great today)

[personal profile] ninjaprincess 2012-12-05 03:19 am (UTC)(link)
She nods enthusiastically, apparently pleased, and folds her hands neatly on the tabletop.

"Still, it's rude of me to make you wait."

Zelda takes a menu, tiling her head slightly at the comment. "Do you mean the school?"
quickly: (actually serious for once)

[personal profile] quickly 2012-12-06 07:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Scout takes a menu as soon as it's offered to him by a waiter (at least, he thinks it's a waiter) and starts to scan its contents. No tacos. No burgers, either. Everything sounds too fancy!

Before he can complain about the strange selection of food, he hears Zelda ask about what he meant by 'this place'. Of course he meant the school! At least, he thinks it's a school, but he has yet to attend any classes ...

"Yeah. This place. I hate school though, so I never went t'any classes."
ninjaprincess: (Concernicus face)

[personal profile] ninjaprincess 2012-12-10 01:08 am (UTC)(link)
She appears to be a little puzzled for a moment, as if she doesn't quite understand why anyone wouldn't like school. But it would be rude to judge--Scout certainly isn't the first to have this sentiment, and he won't be the last.

Zelda takes a moment to delicately place her napkin on her lap.

"Not even the more combat-oriented courses?"

Everyone likes beating things up.
quickly: (cute shrug)

"Combat-oriented?"

Scout vaguely recalls someone telling him about combat-oriented classes when he first arrived at the school, but he doesn't remember which. Which classes are here? Anything really relevant to his interests?

Unsure of whether Zelda cares about combat classes enough to know which ones are offered here, Scout thinks for a moment before asking, though when he does, he fully expects her to not know the answer.

"What classes are here? Combat ones, I mean?"

He looks back down at the menu and once again tries to find something appetizing to pick.
ninjaprincess: (Fwooooosh)

[personal profile] ninjaprincess 2012-12-12 05:28 am (UTC)(link)
"Plenty of combat classes. Have you seen the stadium?"

She beams again, hoping that she can spark some interest. Even Zelda has to admit that pummeling a sandbag can be much more entertaining than writing an essay.

"Smash fundamentals is a good place to start. After that, the curriculum becomes more specific. Archery, blades, martial arts...the list goes on."
quickly: ((gif) animated eating your sandvich)

[personal profile] quickly 2012-12-15 07:38 pm (UTC)(link)
"Stadium?"

He thinks; the word 'stadium' causes him to wonder if there's some sort of baseball field here, or at the very least, a large open space to play baseball.

"What kinda stadium? For sports?"

Scout has so many questions; the mention of archery makes him think of Sniper, and in particular, the Huntman Sniper occasionally uses, and he wonders if it would benefit him to take a class or two to learn how to use a bow. Even though, compared to guns and bats, bows are kinda lame.

The waiter comes back, and Scout's train of thought changes to food, just for a moment. He doesn't know what to order, so he shrugs, then points to a random dish on the menu. This is probably a terrible idea, and the waiter does not look enthused about his choice.
ninjaprincess: (You're only boring me a little)

[personal profile] ninjaprincess 2012-12-16 05:25 am (UTC)(link)
"Sports, yes. Very multi-purpose." She sounds incredibly proud of it, for some reason. And she is, in a way, because it's part of the school. Zelda's been here so long that she can't help but be proud.

Somewhere along the line she realizes that the waiter is taking their order and she complies, sounding much more certain of her choice. It isn't long, however, before she's back in the conversation.

"Football, mostly. And soccer, but you'll find students interested in almost any sport. I enjoy archery, myself."
quickly: (hello there)

[personal profile] quickly 2012-12-16 08:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, sweet. Zelda likes archery, so if Scout takes archery he can impress her even more! Even though he totally shouldn't need to impress her any more after this date, since he's literally the epitome of charming and all.

He's a little bummed at the lack of a baseball mention, though, and feels compelled to bring it up. It is his favorite sport, after all.

"Almost any sport? Does baseball count? I'm definitely the best baseball player here, no doubt about it!"
ninjaprincess: (Oh so pretty and witty and bright)

[personal profile] ninjaprincess 2012-12-17 01:59 am (UTC)(link)
Zelda seems charmed, at least. She's still paying rapt attention and certainly appears to be interested--she's found something he likes to talk about, after all.

"You should start a team," she says, apparently enthused by the idea. "I'm sure plenty of students would love to play."
