[ He suddenly stood in a flurry of determination, feeling his optimism flood back to him once more. If he wanted the culprit apprehended, he had to give his part, anyway, and he'd hardly be able to do that if he was pessimistic and sulky. ]
I must investigate, as well. It may be a risk for you to try, but should you do so, tell me. We will avenge her! She deserves nothing less than justice!

Anyone on the outside would have thought letting Caim in was a crazy action. He wasn't a man to be trusted and he'd not yet had time to prove himself anything other than a cretin who didn't deserve forgiveness. But even with time, it'd take a while to gain anything like that.
Caim watched N for a few moments and he decided wisely he wouldn't say a thing unless Knuckles or Mac permitted him to.]

[ His smile was surprisingly kind and understanding. For a man like Caim to be forgiven by N, at least partially, was a privilege. He was innocent until proven guilty, and at this point, he doubted he was guilty.
He was reacting upon emotion, which wasn't right either. Would Charlise have liked him trying to accuse an innocent man? Probably not. ]
