Holy crap I hope I do this right
Who: Garry and all the inspiring painters
What: PAINTING CLASS!111!11 First one.
Where: Some art room.
When: Le first week of school. Morning.
Warnings: To much artistic expression in this RP log.
Come inside guys. Whoever signed up for this class. Come. And sit. And look at the man in the long coat and bacon/seaweed hair. Who is sitting at the front desk with a large book and a big latte that Garry took a swig from before standing up and looking cheerfully at his students. Ahhh, fall time means pumpkin spice lattes.
"Good morning everyone! And welcome to Painting 101!"
Well, this guy seems nice. Maybe you feel more at ease. Seriously, you can't get nicer with this guy.
"For those who haven't met me yet, I'm Garry. No need with the formality 'Mister'. 'Garry' is just fine."
Uh okay, he writes his name on the board. TWO "R's". YOU NEED TO KNOW THIS.
"I'm going to make this very brief for an introduction, so we can go to the painting right away..."
Now he looked SERIOUS.
"You may be thinking, 'Gosh, what if I don't have enough talent for this class'. Or, 'I'm going to fail and all the other students are more talented than me'."
He shakes his head, "That isn't what art is about. My class is all about teaching you the technique. The expression and what you put on the canvas will be all you. And no student is going to paint the same, that does NOT mean you don't have talent. You can discover any talent you never knew you had with one stroke of a paintbrush or with a fair amount of practice; and there's nothing wrong with either. If you come to me and honestly tell me that you feel your work is inadequate, I will tell you that you only lack self confidence. Self confidence goes such a long way. That said, there's always room for improvement in everyone. Even me. If you ask for honest critique so you CAN feel better, I will help. I learned this all from MY art professors, and now I'm telling you." Garry paused a bit.
"However, as your teacher, I do expect to see effort, participation, and punctuality. That is what you're graded on, after all. But as long as you work hard, you'll do just fine in this course."
He clasped his hands together, sounding off he was done with his speech.
"Any questions?"

no subject
Art is a subject that has always secretly fascinated him. Conceptual subjects that follow set rules and guidelines that don't change like Math or Science or Languages have always been very easy for him to understand, and consequently those rarely present any academic challenges to him. He tends to process things in a very black or white manner.
Art is so abstract and expressive and really seems to have no point or purpose other than looking nice! So he's taking his time and making it look just so, but by the end of his painting he seems to relish in dripping and dragging down the colors into an almost morbid looking pool of chaos off the canvas.
"What do you think?"

"The dripping water adds a nice effect, was that intentional?"

It had the potential to sound scathingly sarcastic, but Seth made it sound mildly snobbish, like, well... like that was just how he always spoke.
"Do you think it's too colorful?"
