One might find the stadium a little hot and humid for those used to a spring graduation ceremony. This fine evening the Academy is experiencing its first hints of summer, a warm breeze providing relief to those who would sit on the stadium floor, which had been rearranged into a platform overlooking neat rows of chairs meant to seat the gathered crowd of faculty and students. Towards the other end of the complex was the arrangement for the prom that was to follow. Food and drink, chairs and tables, each with a floral centerpiece, and, of course, a dance floor.

HEY DUDES! Here's how stuff is going to work. We kick off the log with GRADUATION. This part of the log will be divided into separate threads. I'll post them all at once, so feel free to hop around, mingle, post whenever, wherever.

HOWEVER, once the PROM starts, it will be up to you guys to post your own threads. Please check out last year's log if you'd like an idea of how this works. Everything after the thread titled "DISMISSAL" (I will post that in a bit, so don't post prom threads until I have that up!) will be considered prom, though don't let that stop you from continuing to post in the graduation section.

Please label all your threads appropriately! (Examples: "SHENANIGANS AT THE FOOD TABLE", "DANCE-OFF", "THE PUNCH IS SPIKED", "BOTHER X" In general, a location + what is going on in the thread is the way to go. Obviously, more than one thread can take place at the same location. 

Linking back and forth when and if you thread hop is very much appreciated. If things start to look a bit laggy, we'll bump to the next page. Most importantly, HAVE FUN, and let a mod know about any problems or concerns you might have!

Sonic reached up to catch the coat but missed. His reflexes were way off with the size change, limbs longer and, dare he say it, lacking speed. His new arms flailed and gathered up the coat, but he wasn't thinking much about what to do with it.

He looked up at Shadow with immediate frustration, standing up with his coat in his fist and shaking it at his assailant and, as far as he was concerned, a body thief.

"What was THAT for?!"

[obfuskate]

"Calm down," Shadow urged, stealing a glance or two at Resetti. Good. He didn't notice anything. He preferred for it to stay that way.

"It was a mistake," he assured, lifting his arm. "This body... I cannot even gauge my own strength." He dropped it back to his side, lips pursed. "Hmph. Human bodies are useless..."

Surely Sonic shared his sentiments at this point.

[bluestreaker]

He did, and he HATED IT. This made him incredibly uncomfortable and not because he was stark naked. Shadow's minor confession (intended or not) about how he actually felt in that form, however, was enough to make the blue hedge--er, haired human relax.

Sonic grumbled as his arm lowered, looking down and wiggling his tiny little toes. They looked really far away from him and it was disorienting, to say the least.

Bare feet padded across the floor in awkward slaps until Sonic crouched down in front of his shoes to scoop them up. Well, these weren't going to fit now. At least they weren't destroyed like his gloves.

"I was curious before but I take it back," Sonic muttered to the only other person who could hear him. He stood upright again. "This sucks."

[obfuskate]

Well, at least Sonic didn't have to stay like that. Human forms weren't permanent, for one. Secondly, it wasn't mandatory to take on that form unless the creature was having trouble, which hedgehogs wouldn't.

Shadow, however, was focused on one simple problem that came with this entire mess.

"It is even worse if you are humiliating yourself," he remarked, gesturing for... um, well... penis. "Cover yourself."

[bluestreaker]

Sonic spun on his heel with a squeak and jerked a finger at him. Oop. That made him mad again. He seemed to have forgotten that he can just change back.

"You know who should do some covering?"

STOMP STOMP STOMP, COAT IN FIST AND NAKED TO THE TABLE. Oh lord, this couldn't have been sanitary.

"Hey, Reset tea!" WHAT WAS THAT EVEN? "Lookin' for your partner?" SMILE.

[obfuskate]

SHIT.

At least Shadow was pleased for Sonic's pure indecency, because as soon as the mole turned around, the usual shrieking commenced.

"YOU! YOU... PUNK! Put some clothes on! Come on, show some manners!"

With that, Shadow fled for the nearest punch bowl.

Yeah, screw it. Maybe one drink of the spiked punch will loosen him up from this bullshit.

[bluestreaker]

Sonic's notably human finger - AGH, THIS BODY - went flying in Shadow's direction.

"He's right over there - !!"

What.

Gone?

He went gazing around for the hedgehog's spirit, stroking his chin as he tried to pick him out of the - "PUNCH BOWL!" Sonic announced as soon as he saw him and swung Shadow's coat at Resetti's head to get his full attention.

And maybe to shut him up long enough to listen.

"Doesn't that guy look an awful lot like Shadow?"

[obfuskate]

Dammit. DAMMIT NO.

Shadow flipped his head, only to see Resetti struggling with the coat over his head, muffling something in Sonic's direction... and then it came off.

And they stared at each other.

And then th--

"THERE YOU ARE. Right. The punch bowl." Resetti looked over to him and gave him a nod. "Probably spiked. Because the punks don't KNOW WHEN TO QUIT. But keep it up."

He left him then, but Shadow knew that this wasn't the last time he'd be bothered tonight. He shot Sonic one hell of a nasty glare.

By the way, that jacket? He took it back and put it back on.

"You," he declared, "are going to be naked for the entire night. Enjoy."

[bluestreaker]

DID IT LOOK LIKE HE CARED?!

Sonic's eyes slowly fell to his nude body.

...

Well, that probably was a little weird.

He snarled under his breath and stalked after Shadow, swinging his shoes in the air and making a scene. "Hey! Change me back!"

HE WOULD FOLLOW YOU EVERYWHERE, SHADOW. NAKED GUY FOLLOWING YOU. EVERYWHERE.

[obfuskate]

"What's that, blue hedgehog...? Say that again, a little louder?"

Oh, yes. Might as well humiliate the hell out of him for what he did to him.

Shadow sat with a small cup of punch and began to sip. Yep. Definitely spiked. He's not gonna drink too much of it.

STUPID NAKED HEDGEMEN.

[bluestreaker]

"CHANGE. ME. BACK."

No skimp on the volume.

HE HAS A LITTLE LESS SHAME THAN YOU, BRO.

"Ah. Hm."

So Sonic walked over beside Shadow's chair, pressed his palm against the back of it, and leaned against it like he was waiting for a bus. He even crossed his calves for a leisure look - extra spicy leisure.

"I'll just have to hang around with you for the entire night. Then I'll follow you home. You know what else? I just realized we haven't talked, Shadow. We should talk. Let's talk about our feelings."

Shadow was just about to tell him to get the hell away from him, but once he started to speak to him, he felt his blood turn to ice.

"Let's talk about our feelings."

He slowly turned his head towards him, his eyes widened.

"... What."

[bluestreaker]

Sonic grinned down at him.

"What, ya losing your hearing already?" His face dipped in closer toward Shadow's. "I heard you were - " Well, he didn't want to give the psychic cat-thing away. "sayin' stuff about me. Got somethin' you wanna share, Shadow?"

[obfuskate]

What. What. What. What.

Shit.

What.

"... What have you been hearing," he questioned, "and why are you hinging any truth on it?"

Shadow wanted so badly to just leave. Again.

[bluestreaker]

"Why repeat it?" He quickly responded. Truth was, he didn't know what Shadow had been thinking. All he knew was that he had been, but it wasn't something he'd want someone else to tell him. Sonic had been working toward a more positive relationship, but sometimes with Shadow, well... you just had to smash heads together first. The ones on their shoulders, I swear

"Rather hear it from the source. Whatcha been sayin'?"

"I am not telling you anything."

Shadow crossed his arms firmly over his chest and hunched his shoulders. Yep. Not giving him a peep. Especially not when he's naked behind him dear Chaos.

[bluestreaker]

"So you were," he chimed with pleased confirmation. Sonic stood upright and was willing to stop there. That seemed to be enough for him. If he wasn't telling him, it was probably the kind of thoughts Sonic would appreciate.




But he was still going to stand here in the buff. Just for you, Shadow.

[obfuskate]

"..."

Shadow dipped his head down, lips curling in a quiet snarl. He felt stuck. He was unsure of what to do. What to say.

Sonic wanted to know how he felt about him, and even he wasn't positive about that.

... All he knew was that he felt tingling and pleasantries all around him upon his gracious demeanor. The way he tried to have fun with him. To make him laugh, to make him smile.

"... Why," he asked, "do you persist when I clearly poise myself the way I do?"

That was all he was going to question. For now.

[bluestreaker]

Sonic's brows rose to the tune of his smile.

"Isn't that question also the answer?"

[obfuskate]

Oh, really now? Shadow had to wonder what that meant. He turned his head and rose a single brow.

"How, exactly?"

[bluestreaker]

"Hmmm, how can I put this..."

He really had to think about it, too. When all the right words found their place, he spoke again.

"Everything you do always contradicts what you say."

[obfuskate]

Ugh. He was being too cryptic. He hated not knowing what someone meant, and yet he blamed it upon Sonic for being too vague.

"That is hardly an explanation," scolded Shadow. "Elaborate. I am not about to waste my time on you."

... Like usual.

Maybe that's what he means.
