One might find the stadium a little hot and humid for those used to a spring graduation ceremony. This fine evening the Academy is experiencing its first hints of summer, a warm breeze providing relief to those who would sit on the stadium floor, which had been rearranged into a platform overlooking neat rows of chairs meant to seat the gathered crowd of faculty and students. Towards the other end of the complex was the arrangement for the prom that was to follow. Food and drink, chairs and tables, each with a floral centerpiece, and, of course, a dance floor.

HEY DUDES! Here's how stuff is going to work. We kick off the log with GRADUATION. This part of the log will be divided into separate threads. I'll post them all at once, so feel free to hop around, mingle, post whenever, wherever.

HOWEVER, once the PROM starts, it will be up to you guys to post your own threads. Please check out last year's log if you'd like an idea of how this works. Everything after the thread titled "DISMISSAL" (I will post that in a bit, so don't post prom threads until I have that up!) will be considered prom, though don't let that stop you from continuing to post in the graduation section.

Please label all your threads appropriately! (Examples: "SHENANIGANS AT THE FOOD TABLE", "DANCE-OFF", "THE PUNCH IS SPIKED", "BOTHER X" In general, a location + what is going on in the thread is the way to go. Obviously, more than one thread can take place at the same location. 

Linking back and forth when and if you thread hop is very much appreciated. If things start to look a bit laggy, we'll bump to the next page. Most importantly, HAVE FUN, and let a mod know about any problems or concerns you might have!

"... Hmph," was all he sounded out, folding his arms over white fuzz. That was all. Just. Stupid.

Sonic peered down at Shadow with huge eyes, white tanks with little green fish plastering their face against the glass, trying to see everything that lies beyond their transparent realm. Just out of curiosity, Sonic reached his human hand down and pressed to between Shadow's ears. He only moved his thumb in a quick but gentle stroke.

That felt... It felt different! Kind of hurt in one direction, but it was smooth in the other. A sore sensation he never thought about as a hedgehog, but in this human body, it was far more apparent.

He wondered what else he could feel? What changes and differences there would be. Would food taste better or worse? Could he eat more? Less? How fast could he run? Could he sleep better or worse?

Hmm.

Next time, perhaps...

"You're short!" He then spat out, as if nothing else but the obvious came to mind.

That was the last thing he ever would have imagined to be, Sonic. Clearly. Especially not next to someone who was currently twice his size. NOPE.

"I thought," assumed Shadow, gesturing to the Smash Ball, "that you were eager to revert to your original form."

Now he seemed more eager on petting him and oogling over him.

Or something.

... For lack of better word.

"Oh," Sonic murmured, looking down at the Smash Ball. A sheepish chuckle escaped him. "Right."

Unsure of what to do with it, Sonic just... well, punched it.

POOMF.

And back to normal. He shook his entire body like a wet dog, quick vibrations from ear to toe tips. His tail gave a quick snap to the left, right, then he looked directly at Shadow in a more face-to-face manner.

No gloves, no socks, no shoes. He went after the latter two sitting on the floor, both sets of which were fortunately still intact. Once he slipped them back on his feet in more brutish tugs, as if they still had no chance of fitting properly, he went back to mourn over the pile of shredded white fabric near the bag of remaning balls.

His ears wilted a little.

"Man... Those lasted a long time."

"Hnf."

YEAH, SORRY SONIC, HE LOST MARIA, YOU LOST GLOVES. HE DOESN'T CARE REALLY.

Shadow looked upon himself, bare of anything at all except for his inhibitors, which thankfully remained intact in both human and hedgehog form. (Good, because he needed those, or he might accidentally murder some people. Oops.)

He then lifted his eyes to the hedgehog now correctly at his eye level.

"... I will get you new ones."

[bluestreaker]

With one puffy cheek not facing him, Sonic sighed.

Then turned to Shadow with a forgiving smile. "Forget it. They're only gloves!" Sonic pointed his palms directly at Shadow's face, as if ready to shoot fireballs from them. "I still got hands'n fingers!"

[obfuskate]

"Hn."

Shadow reached his own bare hand out and, in a swift motion, he snatched Sonic's own, not through interlacing fingers, but rather by a wrapping grasp. They were soft and smooth, yet calloused and stained by the result of his adventurous ways. It was impossible to describe how they were so muddled with, and yet so gentle to the touch.

"... That doesn't matter. I will anyway."

[bluestreaker]

"Ah--" Shadow's hands. Shadow's face. Hands. Face. Face. Faaaace.

"Uh, it's really not a big deal," he asserted, taking his hands back and checking them out. Did he plant a bug or something? Looked clean.

With that, he turned away from the only faker in town, making his way toward the food table to go pick at the delectables. (Or so he hoped.)

Off he went. Shadow didn't bother following.

Instead, he stared down at the hand that once held the other's, and only then did he realize what he'd done.

He'd reached out.

...

Soon enough, if Sonic paid close attention, he may or may not have noticed a certain black hedgehog sitting nearby and drinking some of the spiked punch. He sure could use a drink to get his mind off of that, honestly.

... He didn't know if he wanted to continue reaching out.

Not when he'd wind up hurt in the end anyway.

[bluestreaker]

"Shadow!"

It wasn't long before Sonic was back to annoying the Hell out of him. Ten minutes? Maybe? That's a long time for the blue hedgehog when he was bored, but he came back bearing four plates of sandwiches and mini cupcakes with candy weaponry on top. They were cute.

He sat all the plates down beside Shadow, two closer to the darker hedgehog in some kind of ritualistic offering or another and then is own two.

"Can you believe I haven't found a single chili dog-- Hey, punch," he pointed out upon noticing Shadow was sipping at cup. He hadn't had a drink for awhile. Within seconds, he was pouring himself a drink and already going for a taste.

[obfuskate]

Uh.

Uh oh.

The next thing Shadow knew, he snapped his hand out to grab at a silky blue wrist, lips parting and fangs bearing themselves as he urged, "No, stop!"

The last thing he wanted was for Sonic, of all people, to be drunk off his ass around him.

Seriously. Bad.

"That," he pointed out, "has liquor. Stop drinking it."

Sonic immediately snatched his hand back, though, talking right over Shadow's reasoning and turning way from him.

"Hey! Don't hog it, 'hog. Jeez."

"BLECH. Woah!" He cried, noise crinkled up tight, teeth slightly exposed. "That's... sour!"

A few sweeping, deep coughs escalated from his lungs, scratching as his throat like rising dust trying to put out a fire.

He stared into the cup through a squinted eye, as the other was sealed shut by tears.

"Ugh......"

[bluestreaker]

Sip.

[obfuskate]

"No," Shadow asserted. "No. You are going to stop that. Stop that this instant. Faker. Listen to me."

He reached out again, this time more gingerly, trying to slip that cup out of his grasp.

"You are not going to get drunk on me. You are also underage."

19 is the drinking age, Sonic, don't you even. Do that. Jesus fucking Christ on an Egg Golem.

[bluestreaker]

Sonic slowly lifted his arm up, as if Shadow couldn't reach that far. You weren't human anymore, hedgehog. And in the same sweep, he opened his mouth good and wide and DUMPED IT DOWN THE DRAIN.

"Quit tryin' to take my juice!" He complained, feeling a fire in his chest and the smoke in his cheeks.

[obfuskate]

"Fine," hissed Shadow, going back down into his seat and reaching for his drink. "Do not complain to me when you awaken tomorrow with a hangover, you dim-witted, reckless...]

He snarled, snatching the booze in his hand and chugging down the rest. Okay. Maybe he'll have one more. One. Fucking more. Geez, Sonic. Geez.

[bluestreaker]

Sonic followed suit, only he got halfway through his second cup before he decided that being thirsty was easier than drinking this disgusting mess. He walked up closer to Shadow, grabbing his wrist and slowly pulling his glass toward him so he could see inside. Looked spacey enough.

He dumped the rest of his drink into it.

"For you."

[obfuskate]

... What.

"Hedgehog," he growled, his eyes peering into emerald eyes that he knew would become foggy and fuzzy soon enough, "I am not drinking after you."

Shadow shoved the glass aside, grabbed another one, and began ladling more punch into it. He was not going to be drinking right after him! That's just unsanitary. Who knows where that hedgehog has been?

[bluestreaker]

Sonic grabbed the abandoned cup. "It's not a big deal! Yer wastin' it." DOWN THE HATCH.

UGH. Still gross... just slightly more tolerable.

"Whatever." He chucked the empty cup at Shadow's head and picked up a plate of food to gobble down on the sandwiches. He wasn't thirsty anymore. HE SWORE HE WASN'T.

"...Heh." He looked down at the cupcakes on the plate. "These are... Hahaha."

[obfuskate]

No. God no. They both reeked of alcohol and the haze of tipsiness was taking over. Shadow shot a glare, but through the musk of booze, it didn't look quite as menacing as usual.

"They are... what?"

Why was he even questioning that? Why should he care?

Then again, that's something he's been questioning for a good while now.
