oh, you're still very young . . .
Who: Morty and YOU!!!
What: Appropriate fortune telling
Where: Morty’s classroom
When: February 13th – time varies
Warnings: it depends???
Just as Morty promised, his classroom would/will be open all day the day of February 13th. The door is swung open and inviting you in is some pretty calming music. Maybe also the smell of incense and ~atmospheric lighting~.
Walking in, you’ll see that Morty has moved the students’ desks against the back wall of his classroom and has moved his desk to the middle of the room. All his usual crap and scrolls have been pushed off and hidden somewhere so the only thing sitting atop it is a intricate table cloth and a lit candle. There are two chairs on each side of the desk, one of which Morty is sitting in.
He’s not wearing his usual clothes. Instead, he has switched them out for more ... drapey gypsy-like clothes (he gets really into this stuff, okay, call him eccentric if you want. He has a soft spot for this stuff no matter how ridiculous as it is). His hair is pulled back and he may or may not be wearing lipstick. There’s ink on his hands and he’ll wave you on in whether you’re alone or with someone else:
“Come in, come in. Have a seat~”
((Have a seat, indeed! Go ahead and start posting – with a time in the subject line if you want – and it’ll go from there.
You can still post to this this entry; it is forever open.
Your dudes are free to come in and just chat Morty up or harass him too. Have fun! :D
ETA; RNG results for those who have posted are now up on that entry!))

3PM February 13th
It was free, wasn't it? So Kanji figured it would be a bit amusing.
The only bad thing would be is if this fortune teller was legit, but... things like that didn't exist, right?
no subject
But if Kanji was willing to give it a shot, then Morty would answer with what he could. He leaned forward with his chin in his hands.
"Well, Kanji Tatsumi, what would you like to know?"

Vinnie had managed to deeply hurt the feelings of a good friend who wanted to be something more, and got chased around by a horny boar wizard-monster for the rest of the day. And all thanks to this apparent phenomenon of 'Cupidbots'... well.
After the extremely enigmatic comments of a certain godlady on his Valentine's prospects this year, the Venusaur was paranoid. Maybe it couldn't hurt to try out this fortune telling thing this year, in case it managed to illuminate something of the dreaded day to come.
no subject
Morty could confidently say he did not see any of that repeating this year. But he also could not promise better results, or that this fortune telling session would make anything clearer. In fact, it might make things worse by throwing another name into into Vinnie's pool of possible love interests. But only if he took it to heart of course.
He offered his hand to Vinnie. "Let's get right to it then, shall we?"

Well, it was hard not to want to feel that close to someone again. Or to at least feel normal and fit in with all the other couples in the school. Selfish reasons like that.
As Morty bid, he took a seat, looking very much like he was rethinking his decision to have come. Too late now.
"Um... Hi."
no subject
He studied Jeff quietly before leaning forward like he had done with Kanji. "You're thinking about something too much. But I suppose that's common when this sort of holiday comes along."

Last spring had been a terrible time for him. The kidnapping of his parents had put the bonds he had with his friends to the test and while various people proved how much they cared about him by help rescue Parakarry's parents, the ones that truly mattered to Parakarry, the ones he had expected to jump to his pleads right at the beginning, failed him. But of those who had let him down, the desertion of one in particular had torn him up inside.
He wanted to move on. He wanted to love someone, to have a relationship even if it wasn't with her. He wanted to see her, to know that his doubts about her were wrong and she did care about him at least on a platonic level. But whenever he sat down to write Bow a letter or attempted to call one of the numbers he got from that club over a year ago, fear always held him back. Worry that the results of his actions would just end up hurting himself more hung over his head.
The Mushroom Kingdom had various fortune tellers and soothsayers. During his adventure with Mario and the others, Merlon and his family's fortunes always pointed them toward the right direction whenever the group was lost. Morty obviously was not of Merlon's kin but Parakarry hoped that he could help him just the same.
"Hello," he meekly said while slowly flying toward the vacant seat.
no subject
Regardless, he offered Parakarry his warmed smile as he sat down. "Welcome ~ What can I do for you today?"

Gold found nothing off about Morty's appearance or the ambiance. It was actually sort of neat, he thought, as he came in and found a seat on the opposite side of the desk. He offered the blond a subtle smile as he got himself comfortable in his chair.
"This is so cool," he said, excitedly but quietly.
no subject
Morty was delighted to see Gold come in; it felt like it had been a while since they'd last gotten a chance to talk. And that time hadn't exactly been of pleasant terms.
He laughed at Gold's reaction, glad that someone else was enjoying it. He really did love stuff like this, but he felt like the decorations and atmosphere is what made people doubt the legitimacy of fortune telling. "It's good to see you, Gold. I was hoping you'd come."

5pm February the 13th
Wow, it's smoky in here. For being a room inside, anyway. So there's a little smoke in the air. Sort of like Club Titiboo. Only way less grease.
Mmm, greasy food.
"Are you having a BBQ in here or something?" he asked. Duster loves BBQs.
no subject
"No, but something better!" Or at least he thought so.

Essentially, upset that he couldn't do everything for her. Make a bunch of money, take her out to dinner all the time, be home all the time with her... What if he's not good enough for her...?
This neat looking room definitely invited him in, though, and he peered in with a bit of curiosity and hesitance. "Oh, um... H-Hello..."
no subject
"Hello ~! I'm doing fortunes today, would you like to have yours told?"
Whoops, he momentarily felt like a salesman.

The porcupine walked into the classroom, taking note of the atmosphere and the smell of incense. It reminded her of Katrina's tent whenever she stopped by the village. "Hello," she greeted, "I heard you were doing some fortune telling today?"
no subject
"That I am ~" Morty motioned towards the chair. "I would love to give yours a shot ~"

So he decided what the hell? Might as well try this stupid fortune telling thing. And if it oh so happened to be a load of bull, it would simply prove his point.
"Excuse me," Jeff politely smiled as he entered the room.
no subject
And for people who didn't believe it, then it would just turn out just as they thought. Most times, anyway. So Jeff would probably not be surprised with the outcome.
Morty returned the smile. Polite kid. "Heyo ~ welcome! Have a seat and we'll get started right away."

...Well, he had to turn his nose up to look at the top of the table, as it was way too high for little Chibi to see. But that didn't count. And anyway, it was an easy fix: All he had to do was move the chair a little and hop right up.
Hopefully, the incense was stronger than dog breath.
no subject
He chuckled though, wondering how this would work. The little guy didn't seem to be able to talk like Sable could. "Why, hello there. You'd like a fortune too?"

Around the afternoon, roughly about a quarter to 4, he decided to pay a visit.

He leaned forward on his desk while extending his hand out to Empo. "Hello, hello ~"

Without any second thoughts, she barged in and took a seat. Never mind manners and all that crap, she'd leave in a second anyhow.
no subject
This might be like dealing with one of his ghosts, he thought and settled back. He didn't want her to leave so soon, so might as well get to the point and fast. "You seem like you're in a hurry so let's just start, hmm?"
Take his hand, Chika. Take it.

He welcomed Miss Cammy in with a bright smile. Another new face! "Hello, my dear ~" Come take a seat, he'll take your mind of whatever you're worrying about. Except not ... really. Oops.

Morty was unlikely to skew the results so much. Even though Cyrus didn't put much stock in things like fortunes, it was worth it to understand more about the other person, as well as the nature of power in general.
Although Uxie hadn't made nearly a fuss about things. It had been like an ordinary office visit, only with reading stones.
This was something more...he wasn't sure of the words to describe it. Atmospheric, he supposed.
He sat, waiting for Morty to speak.
no subject
After all, he had seemed so offended by Morty's Ghost Telling class all that time ago. Morty slouched over the desk.
"Though, I suppose you're not here for the advertised 'love fortunes.'" He was fine with doing a regular fortune too, of course. Morty had long wondered what was going on with Cyrus and this might be the perfect opportunity to get some insight. A least a little.

"Oooh! Hello!"

The ones like Sasha who were into the decor were exactly why Morty did it.

Besides, he was nervous himself. So what better thing to do than to go ask for a fortune and hope for the best. He gave the door a knock.
"H-hello?"

He waved in Otacon just as he had the others. "Hello hello, indeed. No need to knock" Just come waltz on in ~
