Make a kiss and take a berry
Who: YOU. EVERYONE. SMASH ACADEMY & FRIENDS.
What: Making out I mean MISTLETOE.
When: December 19th to January 1st.
Where: Everywhere.
Rating: The letter appropriate for Kissing & Violence against Plants & Swearing.
After Celebi's inquiries about tiny, berried plants, she came to a few conclusions. Either people really liked them or people were pretty indifferent to them! Or they were grumpy. There seemed to be a lot of grumpies. Clearly the solution to that was to bring the mistletoe on to campus and let it flourish! EVERYWHERE.
IT WAS EVERYWHERE.
In the halls. In doorways. Over your locker. Over your rival's locker. Dangling over your head exactly when you least expected it. If you did not want to encounter it you were probably encountering it.
And they were persistent! They were under the grass pixie's watchful eye this year. Did it just move when you tried to shoot it? Was the shot reflected back at you?? WHAT.
To make matters worse, if you happened to find yourself under certain sprigs of the holiday plant, you were stuck there. STUCK FOR ETERNITY, or at least until you got a smooch. How perfectly, wonderfully devious. There was a certain witch to thank for that.
HOW FESTIVE.

+ Celebi won't like you trying to destroy the plants. She will move them a couple of frustrating inches.
+ Some (not all!) plants are CURSED via Ashley. No moving until smooching. You better hope for a smooch.

[He folds his arms over his chest. He hasn't tried to move, but he doesn't appear to be too terribly interested in moving. Isn't this just a bitch, Byrne?]

And he's just going to stand.

But then he thinks. He's stuck because of the mistletoe. That has to be it.
So, he could either stand here for the rest of the day, he could reveal that he was stuck and risk being hurt or killed, or he could risk his dignity by kissing Caim in an attempt to break this hex. He didn't want to, at least not here. And he didn't know for sure if it would make him unstuck.
But for the moment, that sounds like the least harmful option. Having a staring contest for the rest of the day when he couldn't move would leave him open to a number of things. He wanted to move again. So...
He pulls down his scarf, and goes to grab Caim's shoulders and plant one on his lips.]

Repulsive.
Caim doesn't even like being touched in the first place unless it's by someone he trusts. And even then, he didn't like being touched by the guy he considered his best friend. Therefore, Byrne's actions set off all kinds of alarms. It's not even the idea that he's been kissed. It's the idea that he was touched. Unwanted physical contact.
He makes a note to add Byrne to his list of victims in the near future. He's pretty sure the entire academy isn't going to miss the man who portrays himself so poorly. He seems like he has a death wish anyway. Who better to grant it than Caim?
Byrne gets his kiss. It's one-sided, but he gets it all the same. And then he gets a fist to the face and that, my dear, is no love tap.]

At least the kiss was brief. It was only with the lips. But at the same time, he still couldn't blame Caim for punching him. Although part of Byrne relished the rush of adrenaline from such a strong, negative reaction from the act of merely kissing him.
So, he doesn't attack him back. After being punched, he merely walks away, satisfied that he can move. But he does make a mental note to get back at Caim later on.]
