After Celebi's inquiries about tiny, berried plants, she came to a few conclusions. Either people really liked them or people were pretty indifferent to them! Or they were grumpy. There seemed to be a lot of grumpies. Clearly the solution to that was to bring the mistletoe on to campus and let it flourish! EVERYWHERE.

IT WAS EVERYWHERE.

In the halls. In doorways. Over your locker. Over your rival's locker. Dangling over your head exactly when you least expected it. If you did not want to encounter it you were probably encountering it.

And they were persistent! They were under the grass pixie's watchful eye this year. Did it just move when you tried to shoot it? Was the shot reflected back at you?? WHAT.

To make matters worse, if you happened to find yourself under certain sprigs of the holiday plant, you were stuck there. STUCK FOR ETERNITY, or at least until you got a smooch. How perfectly, wonderfully devious. There was a certain witch to thank for that.

HOW FESTIVE.

Nope! I know I don't really NEED an excuse to come and see you. But I know Mistletoe is for kisses and hugs and so when I saw it, I just thought of you right away.

I can't really forget about myself. I AM myself, so, it's kind of a big reminder.

[He grins and holds her just a little closer.]

I am. I like to see everyone being nice and friendly and giving kisses and hugs and friendly punches. I wish it was more like this all the time.

[This sounds exactly like him. She's not at all surprised by his response. Voile reaches up with her left hand to pat his cheek.]

I think we're better when things aren't always like this. We should take the time to appreciate the different moments that we have. People would tire easily of sweet and tender days. We shouldn't want to bore anyone with that.

I don't see how anyone could get bored with this. I'd take these kinds of days over days when people fight and hurt each other any time.

Not everyone is as lovey dovey as you, dear.

[But that's not said with any negative connotation. In fact, she's rather thrilled with him. She's usually thrilled with him, though.]

Fighting is an instinctive asset that people like you and I are not exactly privy to. In a way, you're much more familiar with it than I am. You fought to bring Red honour. You fought for your own pride. We fight for the things we consider precious. We fight in order to survive. The world is always fighting and so are the people in it. While our hearts can wish for peace, the idea is a fleeting one.

If we have to fight, I've decided that I only want to fight for the things that my heart deems worthy.

I fought for a lot of reasons. But it was never the fighting that mattered. It was the celebrating after winning or the feeling of support after losing. I never really fought just to fight. We had goals and I wanted to help Red reach them, but only because I love him and the rest of the team.

Well. Except when we fought Giovanni and Team Rocket.... then it was different. It was about doing what was right and making sure more pokemon didn't get hurt. THAT is definitely something my heart deems worthy.

[She pinches his cheek very lightly.]

And everyone has a different definition for what they believe is worthy. It'd be nice if we, as sentient beings, could be more understanding about what makes others act and react the way they do.

[But then Voile smiles as she tilts her head a little to the left.]

We can only do the best with what we have. Affecting free will is not something in our power. I can manipulate emotions only and even then, I'd rather people did whatever it was they wanted to do. As long as it didn't come to hurting others. Even the guilty, I don't think, deserve to be hurt.

I don't think so either.... I think sometimes it's their own fault for being dumb and evil and they wind up hurting themselves. Or picking on the wrong sort of person and getting in trouble that way. But I don't think that hurting someone to make your point is right. And if you see someone being hurt, even if they ARE evil, you should try to help them. Even if it makes you angry to do it.

[She pauses in thought and withdraws before resting her left hand at her chin.]

I don't think we should be classifying anyone as 'evil'. Perhaps misguided or misunderstood, but I don't really believe anyone is evil. And yes, even someone who isn't... let's say, as you and I are, if they are in trouble, we should do our best to assist. I truly believe that.

Hmmm. Maybe you know more about it than me because you know people's hearts better? But some of the people I've met, I would say they are pretty evil. Or at least they seem pretty OK with doing really evil things.
