What: TIME TO FIND METAL GEAR REX but what else will be found?
Where: ALASKA
When: DATE FLEXIBLE; let's say December 21st for now.
Warnings: Lash, Bounty Hunters, Alaskan Wolf Dogs and so forth.
Samus had had it. She was frustrated. She was aggravated. After months of searching, she still couldn't find Metal Gear REX. Granted, several of those months were riddled with interruptions like tiki island curses and the usual teaching job grind, but I digress.
REX was easily not the biggest threat out there, but at this point it had become a war of attrition on her patience and perhaps her pride too. What kind of bounty hunter could she call herself if she couldn't hunt down walking tank armed with nuclear weapons? Even the slippery local murder had somehow still eluded everyone's sights, including hers. REX was easily four stories tall--something like that shouldn't be too hard to miss. It was once somewhere very close to the Smash Academy, so where could it of possibly gone?
Otacon knew. Or... the old Otacon knew. Samus had been stubbornly resisting going to Otacon for help but was running out of options and clues.
Her recent spat with Falcon, (while currently resolved... for the most...) had her favoring less friendly and lawful methods of information retrieval. Falcon wanted her to stay away from Otacon? Fine. Sure. She wouldn't go directly to Otacon, even if the scientist was her best and only lead.
Samus hunkered down at her computer, fingers swiftly typing away. She was going to hack into Otacon's computer and take what she needed instead.
With any luck, he'd never know about it either.

He was, in fact, already pulling into the parking lot.
"Come out whenever you're ready. I'll be waiting."
no subject
"Hey, Coach Falcon."
no subject
"I guess I owe you a little bit more of an explanation," he said cooly as he waited for the student to strap in. "If I'm correct, Lash has apparently run off to Alaska on an errand with Miss Aran. I'm not sure how much Lash would have told you, but there's only one reason why Miss Aran would be off to Alaska and it has to do with potentially sensitive material. This might get a little dangerous."
no subject
"Why did you decide to take me?"

But later. Right now, there was Alaska to drive to. Yes, drive. Such were the advantages of being able to hit the speed of sound--and as soon as they'd pulled out of the school and found a highway, that's exactly what Falcon would be doing.
In the meantime, he could answer Claus' questions. "I thought you might know what Lash is up to."
no subject
"Well, that's no mystery. If it wasn't her idea, she's just going along with Ms. Aran for the heck of it. She can't resist stuff like that."
A quality that was at once exhausting and endearing.

He had to admit, it was difficult not to have any leads on Lash's involvement, or why Samus would even involve her in the first place. It was exceedingly infuriating, and the trip quickly devolved into silence as Falcon did what he did best--drive and sulk.
If Claus could even make out the scenery given how fast they were going, he might notice that after the passage of a few hours, things were starting to look quite a bit more...northerly.
no subject
"We almost there?" He hoped it was ok that he was breaking the silence, Falcon could probably do to lighten up just a bit.
no subject
"Yeah," he answered. "I'm not sure exactly where in Alaska they are." It was a pretty big state, after all. "But I have an idea."
no subject
"What are we planning on doing when we get there?"
