Did someone order a DORM LOG??

Who: You, you, you, and you
What: Dorm hijinks and etc. Whatever you want.
Where: Student and Teacher dorms, and quite possibly beyond. Whatever happens happens, bro!
When: September 9 - September 25
Warnings: I wrote 'hijinks'. That should explain everything.

Ripped off the last one and all its friends: Basically, here's what's goin down. We all know our characters experience downtime after classes and their busy schedules, and this is a good venue for those kinds of miscellaneous dorm-shenanigans to take place. Not only does it give your characters the easy chance to meet new people in a laid-back environment but it's a good mechanism for strengthening CR. It's easy!

Feel free to begin in any way you please! Plan with (a) fellow player(s) if you'd like! Or, set up a thread and wait for characters to bite! Anything and everything is possible. Break out the board games for a late night full of laughter, losing, cheating and bonding! Swipe the janitor's keys and gain access to all the impassable places your wildest dreams could only reach! Tiptoe quietly to the kitchen downstairs and make a midnight snack with all your friends! Drive all your neighbors to madness with your ceaseless My Little Ponyta marathons! Get in fisticuffs with your best worst lifelong rival on the rooftops at 4! It can all be yours if you make a thread. So have at it! Don't let this log get away untagged.

[Harley makes a little honking noise before headbutting her hand. He has a nose - two big nostrils at the base of his beak - but it's not much good for smelling.]

See? Told you he'd like you - that's what he does when he wants you to pet him. I know some folks don't like the feel of the skin on his head so you can pet his feathers if you want.

[Harley lowers his head presenting a crest of plumes growing atop of it.]

[Agitha lights up at the behaviour. That's the sad thing about having bugs as pets. They can't really do the same thing as larger animals can. But they're adorable and charming in their own right.

As Harley shows off his plumes, she's very careful to pay both attention to his skin and his feathers. This is why she has two hands, you know.]

He's so cute. I've never seen one before. How long have you had him?

[And cute he was, indeed. Of course, chances were that Agitha and Harley as a combination were close to cuteness overload.]

I've had him since the day he was born, something like three years now. He just keeps getting bigger... eventually I'm gonna have to have them make my window larger so he can keep getting in and out. I still have the little dog bed I bought him to sleep in and by the time he finally stopped wanting to sleep on my pillow with me every night, he was too big for it. He used to fit squarely in my palm, if you can believe it.

[He held out his palm for her to see. Sure, it was larger than the average Human palm, but, still much smaller than his current size.]

Three years...

[She blinks and leans over to get a good look at Knuckles' palm. Then she pressed hers into his to see the difference. Even Baby Harley would have been quite large in her own palm. Evidently Knuckles was just gifted with large hands.]

That's a really, really long time. Longer than... Well, no. I suppose I've had all of my bugs around the same amount of time... Still. Three years is a long time!

Wow - hey, that's impressive to keep your bugs alive that long! I know some of 'em have pretty short lifespans normally. You must be a really good caretaker and guardian for them.

She chuckled and smiled happily. "I do my best! But they're all very hardy. They could take care of themselves if they needed to." Agitha wiggled her ears shyly, "I'm more likely to say that I spoil them a bit."

"Well, everyone can use a little spoiling every so often. Bugs too."

Especially considering how some folks treated them in general - Knuckles supposed they deserved all the nice treatment they could possibly get.

"And Spiderbirds too. You wanna help me feed him?"

Agitha nodded in agreement. Too many people were likely to step on bugs and squish them. She could understand some people being uncomfortable with them, but she still wanted to just give them the attention they deserved. Which sometimes meant spoiling them. She was relieved that Knuckles felt the same way.

Then she blinked, "Oooh, I can really help?" That was evidently a 'yes'.

"I wouldn'a offered if I was going to say No. That woulda been mean." Knuckles replied with a small smirk. "Which would you prefer to do? Give him his chicken or help me mix his oatmeal?"

The oatmeal required hot water of course, so, he'd have to do that part. How familiar she was witht he dangers of scalding water he had no clue.

She thought about sticking her tongue out, decided it was a bit unladylike, and then sighed at him as she wiggled her ears in protest. That Knuckles. He was such a joker!

Then she brightened almost immediately. "I can cook pretty well! And I've made oatmeal once or twice. I can help with that!"

"Alright! Here..." he walked over to the space between his desk and the wall and picked up a large paper bag with bright red and blue markings. "These are his rolled oats. There's a plastic scoop in there. I'm gonna get his bucket and we'll need to put seven scoops in there."

He grabbed a large yellow bucket from under his desk. "We'll have to wash this out when we're done." he said, setting the bucket down so she could pour the oatmeal in.

She moved over to the bag of oats. With the scoop in hand, she leaned over and very meticulously poured in one scoop after another once he brought the bucket out. Seven scoops total. No more and no less.

"I can clean it out. That's no trouble at all." Then again, she was probably used to getting a little dirty. Not that anyone would have figured that out with her odd clothing.

Yes, she really didn't LOOK like the kind of kid who got dirty with those frills and ribbons. However, Knuckles knew that to find the best bugs, sometimes you really had to get messy.

"We'll do it together." he replied, taking his kettle from it's base. It was the kettle he used primarily to make coffee and tea, but it worked for this too. He made sure she was well away and tipped in the water.

"Now, we let the oats soak up that water and we add some milk." he said, pointing to his little fridge. "If you'd like to get that, you can."

Well, doing it together was always a good thing and she couldn't complain. She nodded along with a rather bright smile. Then she nodded, left him to the oats and the water, and edged over to his small refrigerator.

"It's so tiny," she observed with a little upturn of the lips. "How adorable." She leaned over to take out a bottle of milk and she eyed him, "Did you get this from Hyrule? It looks very similar to the bottles that they sell in the market lane."

When she rejoined him, she paused at his side and held up the bottle after opening it. "How much should I put in?"

"Well, I can't exactly fit a giant fridge in here, so, I have to make do." he replied. "See those bottles of purple drink in there? If you'd like to, you can have one. They're sweet and refreshing and called Gatorade."

He was stirring the oats and water with a large stick. Harley was in the backround making fussy clucking noises.

"About half the bottle - the other half I'll use tomorrow. I get my milk from the Wholefoods - it's organic milk so, I guess it might come from Hyrule? I don't think they use many pesticides or herbicides there, right?"

"Gatorade..." Agitha echoed softly. Then she wiggled her ears when she heard Harley. "He sounds impatient. Is he always like that?"

Then she nodded and very carefully tilted her wrist to pour half the bottle into the oats and water mixture that she and Knuckle had made. "I don't think they use anything like that in there. I don't know where the milk comes from, but I assume it's organic! I don't know what else it would be!"

"Him? Yeah - he's always antsy about getting his food. As soon as he sees me get that bucket out, he starts this. It's fine though - he's hardly starving. In fact, sometimes I worry I feed him TOO Much, but I don't want him flying around eating people's cats and dogs and Pokemon, so, better to keep him a little over-full."

He watched her pour the milk, then he started to stir again. "Well, from the small amount of Hyrule I've seen, I don't think there would be many chemicals used in your farming."

She wiggled her ears at the thought of Harley going around and eating up all of her pretty bugs. No, they couldn't have that, so maybe it was okay for Knuckles to overfeed him just a little bit. As long as it didn't endanger him. For even Agitha knew very well if she overfed her bugs, there was always the danger of something hurting them.

She held the bottle of milk to her, still half full as she listened to him. "I didn't know you've been to Hyrule before. Did you like it? It's so beautiful. I love everything about the town and its people. Well, almost everything." She didn't like the guy who stood outside of her house or watched through the window. But everything else was wonderful.

"I got to see some of the desert and one of the big temples there. Not much else - my buddy Ganondorf lived there in the Gerudo desert and stuff, so, I'd get to see that if we went there. Not much else."

Of course, his geographical knowledge of the Kindom was lacking.

He took the bottle gently and placed the cap back on, heading back to the fidge. "Did you want one of those drinks? They taste like grapes. They're real good."

She raised an eyebrow at him and rubbed at her chin. Ganondorf, Ganondorf... That name seemed a little familiar to her, but she wasn't sure why or where she'd heard it before. But it sounded strange.

And then he talked about the desert and shook her head. "I've never been there. The desert is far, far, far away from the town. I've heard there's nothing except moblins and goblins out there. There's supposed to be some great structure that used to be there."

At his offer, she nodded slowly. "Thank you!"

"No prob." he replied, walking to the fridge and grabbing a bottle of the drink for her. He uncapped it and handed it to her, before going back to stirring the porridge.

"Moblins and Goblins? Yeah, I guess? Well, I spent most of my time there with Ganondorf and our friends, but I got to meet a lot of the Gerudo people too. That big structure is still there, or it was when I visited. A huge temple that we had to fight our way through to rescue a pal of ours who was captured by two evil witches. It was pretty awesome."

She took a bit of a dainty sip from her bottle of Gatorade as she watched him stir. "It sounds exciting! I've never really gone on any adventures like that. I mean, the most excitement I've had was probably when we were all on that island. And that wasn't that exciting either. I was good and stayed out of the cursed tropical forest and the ruins and what not."

Agitha laughed, "Maybe adventure's not really my place. After all, I can't take my bugs absolutely everywhere without worrying about something happening to them."

"Well, bugs aren't the sort of creatures you'd want to take anywhere with too many monsters, or lava pits or booby traps. Too easy for them to get harmed or lost." Knuckles replied affirmatively. "But if you wanted to adventure, I think they'd understand if you left 'em at home a day or two with enough food and water and stuff. They're lucky in that they can take pretty great care of themselves when they have to."

He scraped the excess oatmeal from the stirrer onto the edge of the bucket and set it down on a carefully placed piece of newspaper so it didn't drip mushy stuff all over the place.

"This is true. But I've left them behind while I've been getting to know everyone here and they keep causing problems now. One tried to sleep on Princess Daisy. One tried to bite my friend, Slippy. And one even crawled into Professor Falcon's couch!"

Agitha shook her head, "I think I've left them along on their own for long enough." She took a long drink of her Gatorade and then she found a place to put the bottle aside where it wouldn't get knocked over. "Is there anything else I can help with?"

"Well, that's the oatmeal done, really. Sometimes I crack a few eggs in there but I don't have any today."

Harley was still being fussy nearby, but he was being good and not barging in.

Knuckles picked up the bucket and moved it closer. "G'wan then, fella. Get in there."

And the spiderbird needed no further invitation, darting forward and sticking his whole head into the bucket. It looked pretty comical though Knuckles was used to it now so he didn't laugh so much as grin proudly.

"No table manners. As for YOUR little buddies, well, yeah, I could see hopw you'd worry. Daisy is a nice girl but even she might hurt one by accident. And Slippy...."

Gods, it was a miracle Slippy hadn't accidentally eaten one! Or two. Or fifteen. Or on purpo--wait, no. Slippy was too nice to do that.
