Did someone order a DORM LOG??

Who: You, you, you, and you
What: Dorm hijinks and etc. Whatever you want.
Where: Student and Teacher dorms, and quite possibly beyond. Whatever happens happens, bro!
When: September 9 - September 25
Warnings: I wrote 'hijinks'. That should explain everything.

Ripped off the last one and all its friends: Basically, here's what's goin down. We all know our characters experience downtime after classes and their busy schedules, and this is a good venue for those kinds of miscellaneous dorm-shenanigans to take place. Not only does it give your characters the easy chance to meet new people in a laid-back environment but it's a good mechanism for strengthening CR. It's easy!

Feel free to begin in any way you please! Plan with (a) fellow player(s) if you'd like! Or, set up a thread and wait for characters to bite! Anything and everything is possible. Break out the board games for a late night full of laughter, losing, cheating and bonding! Swipe the janitor's keys and gain access to all the impassable places your wildest dreams could only reach! Tiptoe quietly to the kitchen downstairs and make a midnight snack with all your friends! Drive all your neighbors to madness with your ceaseless My Little Ponyta marathons! Get in fisticuffs with your best worst lifelong rival on the rooftops at 4! It can all be yours if you make a thread. So have at it! Don't let this log get away untagged.

Re: VIEW FROM SECURITY CAMERAS, EVERYDAY

She needed a new bow. Not that there was anything wrong with the bow she had, but it was the same bow she'd been using for two years and she wanted something a little more like the one Shinon had gotten. A trip into the city and she'd returned victorious. A nice elegant bow later and she was anxious to try it out.

Of course they had an archery range, but what was the fun of using it for what it was for? Instead, Nabooru was making it a habit to shoot everything on campus with the Smash Academy logo. It was like target practise.

Goose saw what Nabs was doing.

He approved. Thus, he laughed.

... right into the PA. Oops.

She blinked when she heard him, but she knew very well that she heard him. Nice thing about being such good friends was when she could recognise the voice. She lowered her bow and looked around curiously.

"...Goose?"

Not that she knew if his video feed for the security cameras also picked up audio as well.

Oh, that... went into the PA system. Well, that. That was great. Except not.

Thankfully, Smash has pretty high tech for anything, and this includes the cameras. He heard her, alright, and replied. Through the PA system. Again. Classy.

"... Eheh. S'up, Nabs?"

There he went, all over the PA speakers again. She was still unsure of where the nearest one to her was until she tried focusing on the direction the sound came from - which wasn't easy. She held her bow in her left hand, squinted, and gave her surroundings a serious analysis, but she still hadn't been able to find the direct source.

"S'up, yourself," she greeted with a smile. "What do you think of my new toy? Are you enjoying watching me play with it?" She lifted her bow proudly and waved it carefully back and forth.

[identity profile] badasscopters.livejournal.com 2011-09-11 08:45 pm (UTC)(link)
"Sure enough," he responded with a nod, despite the fact that Nabooru obviously can't see him. Goose didn't honestly care, though. He does what he wants to, okay? Okay. Deal.

"What you're doing with it's what I'm enjoyin' the most. Think the Headmaster's gonna roll with it?"

Oh, who is he kidding? Master Hand has Goose as a guard. Of course it'll slide. Somehow.
thedesertrose: ([devious] she's got some plans for you)

[personal profile] thedesertrose 2011-09-11 11:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Nabooru laughed, finally giving up for the time being. Then she reached for another arrow and shot it into the sky with good marksmanship. Where it landed she didn't know. And somewhere on the other side of the campus, it fell and struck Byrne in the ponytail.

"Well, it's not like I'm using the kids as target practise," she mentioned with a bit of a grin. "I could always do that instead, if you want something a little more challenging."

[identity profile] dothelokomotion.livejournal.com 2011-09-11 11:40 pm (UTC)(link)
All of a sudden, Byrne felt something his his ponytail and he said "Ow my hair."

[identity profile] badasscopters.livejournal.com 2011-09-11 11:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Goose snorted. "This place is a fighting school, so... shit. Might as well teach some kids how to defend from the unexpected."

He leaned over and fiddled with the mic, probably winding up in some static-y noises to come out before he spoke again. "Besides, better you than Crazy Hand decidin', hey, y'know what? Let's sic orange ninjas with tangerine... spinny ninja stars at them."

Shuriken, Goose. Shuriken.
thedesertrose: ([serpent] do not dare to underestimate)

[personal profile] thedesertrose 2011-09-12 02:49 am (UTC)(link)
She chuckled again and nodded in agreement. "You've got a point." Then she lifted her chin again and eyed where she imagined the source to be coming from. In other words, the large speaker that was pretty much broadcasting Goose's side of the conversation. Thank the Goddess no one else was around to hear that.

"Maybe I should start using oranges for practise. Do we have any of those disc launchers? We could insert oranges and I'll peg them down."

[identity profile] badasscopters.livejournal.com 2011-09-12 02:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh god, she was really willing to use oranges. Goose had to fake a coughing fit for that.

"H-Ha- heh- sorry. We got them in the Stadium. Just be careful not to fire too close. Don't wanna get orange juice in your eye."

Sheesh. Imagine how much that would sting.
thedesertrose: ([serious] follow my orders)

[personal profile] thedesertrose 2011-09-13 07:39 am (UTC)(link)
"Arrows weren't made for point blank range," she proclaimed somewhat proudly. "But I promise to be careful."

Then she stretched one arm up above her head. "I've only been to the stadium once since I've been here. Mind pointing me in the right direction?"

[identity profile] badasscopters.livejournal.com 2011-09-13 02:42 pm (UTC)(link)
"M'kay, just take the hallway to your left at the end, take the stairs down, get the hell outta there, then just head east from the dorm complex. It's kinda hard to miss."

Goose knew this place like the back of his hand by now. He was proud of that.
thedesertrose: ([confidence] how it suits her)

[personal profile] thedesertrose 2011-09-14 02:03 am (UTC)(link)
She blinked as she took her bow carefully into her left hand. Then she nodded, "Awesome. Thanks, Goose."

After starting in the direction he'd pointed her towards, Nabooru paused and looked over her shoulder. "You going to watch me shoot oranges, too, or are you busy being hard at work?"

Not that it seemed he was doing much work at all.

[identity profile] badasscopters.livejournal.com 2011-09-14 02:25 am (UTC)(link)
"It's kinda my job to watch everything," Goose stated with a shrug. He leaned back in his office chair and took a swig of totally-not-beer-at-all from a bottle.

"So I'm gonna be watchin' you. I've got a ton of monitors, and hey, I can multitask. The only thing I'm regrettin' is that I don't have popcorn."

That sounded pretty good right about now.
thedesertrose: ([joyful] victory on that far off horizon)

[personal profile] thedesertrose 2011-09-14 02:49 am (UTC)(link)
Totally-not-beer-at-all. Suuuuure.

Nabooru wandered along and she nodded, assuming he could hear her. The school seemed to have a good range in terms of their technology, all of which (save computers) were foreign to her. She didn't even know where the cameras were located. Eventually she was going to have to ask Goose to give her an idea.

Since he was watching and all of that.

"You're telling me you're so bored that you're going to watch me?" She laughed.

[identity profile] badasscopters.livejournal.com 2011-09-14 02:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Despite the fact that she obviously couldn't see him, he nodded and leaned forward for the mic again.

"Sometimes a guard's job can be real boring. Just sittin' and watchin' cameras and not doing anything else."

He paused for a brief moment and, although not directed at Nabooru, he added, "You hear that, kids? Being a guard kinda sucks, so don't do it. Trust me."
thedesertrose: ([devious] she's got some plans for you)

[personal profile] thedesertrose 2011-09-15 02:46 am (UTC)(link)
She laughed and shook her head in disbelief as she moved along to the stadium. "So you teach and do security? I just teach and dream about the guy I want to knock shoes with."

Except she was sort of teasing about the banging part, not that she didn't try to play up to the reputation that didn't exist.

"I couldn't handle more than one job, honestly. I don't want more than one job. My students run me ragged as it is."

[identity profile] badasscopters.livejournal.com 2011-09-15 02:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Goose couldn't help a loud snort through the PA. It probably sounded like a very static-filled breath of air through the speakers.

"You think your students run you ragged? Unless you can get really hurt from dancing and wind up crashing meters above the ground, I kinda don't think you're in as bad a place. Yeah?"

... Dancing DOESN'T do that, right? Right. No way it can. Right??
thedesertrose: ([promiscuity] anything but easy)

[personal profile] thedesertrose 2011-09-16 06:21 am (UTC)(link)
"Don't think it's all peaches and cream, Goose. I'm not about to say my class is worse than yours, because I don't know how your class is. In the same respects, you probably shouldn't make any judgments about mine."

Then she stretched her arms over her head and yawned, "Sometimes it's not always the kids. Sometimes it's the curriculum. Being an instructor is exhausting. You have to come up with a syllabus that's informative, interesting, and meets the requirements for the educational system. That's not black and white. There are a lot of shades of grey."

There was a brief pause and she silently counted the other things that went into working in a classroom. "And all students are different. You can't cater to each one unless you're privately tutoring them, which I also do. I was also considering taking the time to put our auditorium to good use. I wanted to have my students perform for the academy as part of both an exam and extra credit for those who need it."

Her chin tipped up, "You get what I'm saying? There's a lot you have to think about. My mind's never stopping. It's always going."

[identity profile] badasscopters.livejournal.com 2011-09-16 03:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Goose gave a small blink in surprise and tilted his head as he watched her. That sounded difficult. It wasn't just about teaching easier dances and moving up to better ones. It was all about doing it specifically and working very closely with the students. He didn't really have time to do a whole lot of private tutoring. If anyone ever got the brunt of that privilege, it was people like Pit and Raiden (who cares if he's staff? he can learn, too).

He finally let out a bit of a chuckle.

"Y'know, that sounds... kinda hard. Shit, I mean, I went to a piloting school and I kinda saw how my instructors did it, so I kinda just picked up from there. Building my classes for the kids is easy as hell. Comes naturally to me. Security ain't all that either unless there's havoc going on."

Goose shook his head and toyed with the flexible base of the microphone. "My worst problem is some of the kids suck." They could probably hear that. Did he care? Nope! "Can't do their thing for shit, but no skin off my bones. Just skin off theirs."

Ouch.
thedesertrose: ([serpent] do not dare to underestimate)

[personal profile] thedesertrose 2011-09-17 03:42 am (UTC)(link)
Nabooru blinked and then she couldn't resist laughing. Oh, Goose. He was just going to cause problem after problem after problem, wasn't he? He had a good heart, but he certainly was a questionable man. She liked him, however. Goose had quickly become one of her closest friends.

"You know they can hear you, right?" She grinned as she entered the stadium after what seemed like a walk forever. "It's kind of bad if a teacher badmouths his students. But then I guess it's okay since you didn't namedrop anyone."

[identity profile] badasscopters.livejournal.com 2011-09-17 03:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, right, there... there is that. Right. She's not the only one who could hear him. Oops.

Goose hid his embarrassment with an uneasy laugh. "Well, eh, I'm just kinda. Brave. That's all. Besides, for all they know, I'm only badmouthin' two really bad students instead of a hundred kinda bad ones."
thedesertrose: ([joyful] victory on that far off horizon)

[personal profile] thedesertrose 2011-09-18 03:16 am (UTC)(link)
"And they can still hear you."

Nabooru couldn't help except wonder who he meant. She didn't personally have any bad students. Some weren't very ecstatic, but she couldn't fault them for it. Some were a little too enthusiastic, but she thought those were the cute types. Overall, she had a rainbow of students and none of them were bad.

"So when Crazy Hand comes for you, can I have your gyrocopter?"

[identity profile] badasscopters.livejournal.com 2011-09-18 02:28 pm (UTC)(link)
"Psssssh, that goes wherever I go, but I guess I'll leave you the air freshener tag as a parting gift."

Goose couldn't help but feign some sniffles, but it sounded more like a bunch of weird, blubbery chuckles.

"It was nice knowin' you."
