It's a whole new place with a brand new attitude

Who: Morty, Eusine
What: Exploring the city
When: Nov. 11
Where: On campus, then downtown
Warnings: Not really.

It had been a while since Eusine and Morty had hung out. Sure they spent some time together during Halloween, but that was still at school. Not to mention Eusine still was not sure what to think about the choice of costumes. He had agreed anyway out of good spirit, but Halloween was usually cold and his arms became particularly frozen that day.

But there was no point in complaining. In fact, Eusine was sure today was going to be a great day. He was going to spend time with a dear friend and explore the city together. He had already been at the school for a while, but he hadn't had time to really go into FDC. This would be a good experience for him. And if they happen to hear any Legendary Pokemon related rumors while downtown, that also would be good too.

Nearing Morty's room, Eusine knocked on the door. Folding his arms behind his back, he waited.

Well, Morty hoped he could make up for the freezing arms today. It wasn't like he had totally intended for that to happen; it just slipped his mind that Koga was he one with the sleeves.

But, yes, they were going to hit the city. He wasn't quite sure what they were going to do, but some of the best things in life were unplanned. He heard the knock, and thus tightened his scarf before going to answer the door.

And seeing Eusine standing there, a wider grin crept onto his face. "Hello there. Ready to go?"

"I know a couple places." Like that bar that had the green beer for Saint Patrick's Day ... or whatever they were celebrating. Though, he didn't think Eusine would fancy a place like that. Morty grabbed a couple things and stuffed them in his pockets before shimmying his way out the door and past Eusine so he could lock up.

"It'll probably end up in an adventure though. I'm bad at making decisions like these, you know." He held out his hand and motioned for Eusine to start walking ahead of him. Ladies first and all that.

Amiable. Of course. Well, once they made it out of the general are of the dorms, Morty caught up to his friend so they could walk side-by-side. He kept his hands in his pockets as they walked.

"Besides that whole mess with my scarves," he glanced right back, with a bit of a teasing glint in his eye. Eusine still had that scarf, didn't he? "I've been just fine. Halloween more than made up for it, anyways."

He paused. "I take it you've been well too?"

"More scarves than I ever needed. I can give some to my Gengars now so they'll stop stealing them." Morty laughed into his hand.

To be honest, he hadn't thought he would be able to convince Eusine to wear the outfit. He supposed it would be more likely for him to wear that one rather than Jasmine's or someones. That would have been so much more amusing, though. But he couldn't let his thoughts wander too far...

"Well that's a shame. You were always full of stories when you were traveling; I looked forward to hearing them." He wasn't really thinking as they were walking.

He figured that was true. But, hey, it was worth a shot.

"Not that that's a bad thing." Morty had stayed in one place for most of his life; he would know.

He wasn't about to admit this, but he was ... happy knowing where Eusine was like this - rather than wondering when he'd get another surprise visit or if he was stuck somewhere. The bottom of a lake. Wherever Suicune would be. But Morty merely nodded in agreement, again keeping his thoughts to himself. "It doesn't feel like four months. Hardly even one."

late tags are awesome, bro

"We might be crazy to stay here, all things considered. Ah, let's turn this way." He grinned at his friend, making the turn seem as random as he could make it.

"I've been here for ... almost a year? Yes, it will be a year in January." A year had felt like nothing, though, too.

Morty took his hands out of his pockets to adjust his scarf, but slipped them right back in as soon as he was done. "Ah well, you weren't around. I left without really saying anything either." The only people who had known about Morty leaving were probably a couple of the Bell Tower monks and the Kimono Girls and that was because Zuki was the one who suggested he leave in the first place.

"A gender switch? Ah, that sounds like fun." He was kidding. Kind of. "I ... wasn't there for any of that, unfortunately. There was a week where some turned into animals and .. things, though. And before that there were cases of hallucinations. Something like that." He hadn't forgotten the foul-mouthed Ho-oh, nope.

He made a sort of .. defensive humming noise in response. "Maaah, well if it was only for a short period of time like the other changes." Well, of course. Morty was too. But just for curiosities sake, a day or two as a lady wouldn't hurt.

"Oh, yes. There was a Drifloon, and a couple Pokemon I didn't recognize." Morty paused to think and resisted the urge to say Peacock. "I can .. kind of see you as an Espeon. Would it be terrible if I said Suicune too?"

"Hm, you may be right." Snrk.

"I did," Morty corrected him. And lucky for Eusine, Morty had finally looked up what he had become during that week so he could give him a clear answer. "I think I would have preferred that. I was a Poe; some sort of ghost from a different world."

"I should show you the book I found in the library about them." It would explain them better than Morty could, he had a feeling. Poe's where.. surprisingly malicious. And trying to explain that they carry their spirits around in a lamp just sounded nuts. "It was surreal. I felt very .. detached, like I was always unsure if I really existed or not. If that makes any sense."

He paused. "It's not something I would do again."
