A TOTALLY FAIR POKEMON BATTLE.
Who: Blacky, Cyrus, whoever else
What: BATTARU.
When: Backdated to the evening of the 8th
Where: Stadium, basic Pokemon field.
Warnings: ANIMAL VIOLENCE. Possibly Pokemon being assholes and not listening to their trainers.
When Blacky made her challenge to Cyrus, she did consider fighting fair just to see if she was capable of winning a battle on her own. Unfortunately, that meant there was a risk of losing to Cyrus of all people and surely he'd find some way to pin the blame on her emotions or her loving relationship with her trainer growing up and she didn't want to hear a damn word about that from him. Not to mention, she'd already paid a certain debt to Ganondorf in exchange for him ensuring that she could win a battle, and she might as well put that advantage to good use.
It wasn't cheating. It was just... Well, yeah, okay. Blacky was a dirty cheater. But at least she'd finally win a battle. Every Pokemon should experience that at least once in their life, as far as she was concerned.
She sat to one side of the stadium, pawing impatiently at the dirt while she waited for her opponent and any spectators to arrive.

it was an open log and she was required to be in every single onebecause she was a snoop. There was going to be something special with this fight...She shoved some sour patch kids in her mouth.
Re: SPECTATING THE SPECTACLE
He didn't expect there was going to be much excitement, though. So after a quick wave to Mumsy Dearest, he went to go creep on Izzy. Don't think he didn't see those Sour Patch Candies.

Cyrus shook his head. There wasn't any reason for him to suspect anything. She was an Umbreon, and he had battled them with ease before.
Immediately upon arrival he called out Houndoom. No use in wasting time. "Flamethrower."
The dog raced forward, forming fire in its mouth and blowing it out towards Blacky in a stream.
no subject
She let out a loud yelp as the flames engulfed her. Damn it, whatever Ganondorf did, it sure didn't seem to do much to lessen the pain.
Houndoom was part dark type, as she was. Psychic certainly wouldn't work. Dark Pulse wasn't going to do much. Moonlight and Attract wouldn't do much to hurt it. That was four moves. But since this wasn't an official league match or anything, and she was cheating anyway...
She braced herself and rushed headlong at Houndoom for a tackle.
no subject
This was unexpected, to say the least. An Umbreon, even one of maximum level, shouldn't possess that capacity. Not with Tackle anyway.
"Very well. Honchkrow, Embargo." The bird fluttered around for a moment before releasing a giant X to cover Blacky.

When the strange magical X covered her, the mago berry she'd tucked behind her ear at the beginning of the match was jarred loose and rolled away. Shoot! It wasn't like she particularly needed it, but they tasted pretty good, and now that it had fallen it was all bruised and dirty.
Lousy bird...
Dark type or not, she wanted to see just how powerful a Dark Pulse was now. Her markings glowed brightly for a moment before dark energy shot out in every direction.

How was this possible? Something was disturbed, and Cyrus's mind raced to consider what it could be.
But he kept on. "Gyarados," he commanded as he called out the sea serpent, "Earthquake."
The furious creature slammed into the ground and the stadium shook. Cyrus braced himself against the familar attack.
no subject
...If only she'd gained the ability to fly, too. She stumbled as the ground shook, falling flat on her face no less than twice before the earthquake subsided. She got up a third time once she was sure the earth stopped rumbling, but was still clumsy on her paws for a few seconds. She growled in annoyance.
She hadn't used Psychic at all since the Aparoid War, but now was as good a time as any to get back into practice. It was a lot easier to attack from a distance until she regained her balance, anyway. Her markings glowed again, and she fixed her gaze on the Gyarados.

The noise had disturbed Cyrus more than the one hit knockout, which he was coming to expect at this point. "Crobat, Confuse Ray." The exchange of Gyarados for Crobat was seamless, as was the initiation of the bat's attack.
His expression remained the same, but his mind raced frantically for some sort of strategy that could stand up against something this powerful.

Tiny birds flew around her head.Oh. Wow. It felt like she was floating. Or swimming. Wait, no, the battle was on solid ground or something... right? Who was she battling again? Wow she must have had way too much to drink or something.
Her mind snapped back into focus as she caught a movement in the corner of her eye. Behind her! She whipped her head around...
and sank her teeth into her own tail.

It hurt so good...
I am...assuming that the increased attack and increased defense cancel each other out...
NO MAN IT HURT. JUST STUCK AT 1HP FOREVER.
no subject
But Crobat went down in one hit like the others.
Something suspicious was going on here. Cyrus had started to doubt his powers, but this was beyond that. Even if he was weak, something that made him sick to his stomach to even consider, an Umbreon shouldn't be that strong. He should still be able to at least survive a blow here and there against an Umbreon.
But it wasn't happening that way. She was too strong, and nothing he could think of could make her as powerful as she was. Not even Uxie, as much as he connected every misdeed at the school to it. And not even Arceus.
"You are not an Umbreon, yes?" he asked calmly as he sent out his final pokemon, Weavile. "I ask that you revert to your true form."
no subject
Her head hurt; the more the poison spread through her system, the less patience she had to deal with Cyrus' completely justified suspicions. She narrowed her eyes at her final opponent. Even though the Pokemon who inflicted the condition on her had been knocked out, someone had to pay for it. Someone had to share (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Synchronize) the misery, and poor Weavile was the only target around.
She growled quietly as her innate ability came into play.

It broke her spine and she was paralyzed for life THANKS WEAVILEShe wasn't expecting something like that! Yet somehow she still found the strength to stand. She was angry, but still clear-headed enough to stop herself from trying to tear Weavile to shreds right then and there. Watching him suffer the poison would be so much more worthwhile. She batted her eyelashes (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Attract) at her opponent.
"Hey, big boy~. Would you mind letting your trainer know that I am, in fact, an Umbreon?"
no subject
Needless to say, Cyrus was disgusted. "Weavile!" he called out, about to give an order.
"Wee! Ile! Weavile!" it chattered, pointing at Blacky.
"Impossible," he dismissed. "Now, focus yourself! You are a disgrace!"
It wobbled around, smiling at Blacky, and tried halfheartedly to Brick Break again...except it would rather stare at her.
no subject
"Some trainers just don't understand, do they?" She pouted, which in her present form consisted of drooping her ears and making big puppy eyes. "You know, I would very much like to win this battle to impress mine. Preferably if I don't have to hurt you. Can you do that for me~?"
no subject
"Weavile!" Cyrus snapped. "Attack as you were ordered to do! Brick Break!"
But it was no use. The weasel sat down to admire Blacky instead, seeming not to hear its trainer.
This couldn't be happening. Cyrus couldn't be losing to a mere Umbreon. He had defeated multiple gods effortlessly and...
That was it, wasn't it? His battle with Arceus...had it cursed him? No, that was foolish. But to find anyone who stood in his way that he couldn't stop...
"Weavile! Attack!" and this time his scream had a tone of desperation.
